    Aly, I'm just about to buy the Rolleikin kit for my 2.8F. Your videos are just what I needed, thank you.
    Hope all is good for you and the family. Looks like Milton was north of you. Be well.

    Cool. I will look into getting a Rolleikin for mine. You reminded me to get back out to Stuart for some shoots. It has been a while since I shot there. Maybe after this Covid madness passes. Thanks for sharing!

      Oh cool you’re in the Stuart area? There’s a lot of nice photo ops over there

      @@AlysVintageCameraAlley - I'm down South near West Palm but I like to go up and visit Stuart ocassionally because of the quaint downtown.

    The Rolleiflex is a beautiful camera. I haven't found one at a price I was willing to pay. Maybe one day. The Rollei Retro 400S does have extended infra red sensitivity. Blue Moon Camera And Machine has a more complete description of it.

      the automat is relatively a little more affordable. Thats why I ended up with that model. Ill have to check out their description of the film.

    Great video! I love videos from real people better than the super slick ones where it is more about themselves. I like your honest love for photography and old gear. I share it too.
    If you want more people shots, maybe find a liquor store or a 7-11 type convenience store. Covid probably made it hard to find people when you were filming.
    Can the Rolleikin shoot 24 or 12 shot rolls too? And what about the panoramic 24mm x 60mm or 35mm x 60mm (with the holes in frame)? Is that possible with that kit or a similar adaptor? I have a Mamiyaflex that I want to try shooting 135 film with. As far as I know there is no Rolleikin-type kit for it. People use the 3D printed adaptors to hold the canister centered.
    And how does it rewind!?!? Did I miss that?
    Thanks again!

      Thank you Michael!
      That’s a good idea about the convenience stores. At the time I filmed this video I was very Ill and on steroids so my face was very swollen so that’s why my face is hidden in most of my early videos. So I wasn’t go much of anywhere at the time lol
      The Rolleikin I believe does shoot 24 and 12 frame rolls. It has a set mask that goes inside so I don’t think it would work for panoramic sizes or the others you mentioned.
      It’s been so long since I’ve used the adapter but if I remember correctly to rewind I had to press and hold a small button on the front to the left while turning the small rewind knob.
      Thanks for watching. I’m glad you enjoyed!

    Hi great video. Which way do you move the pressure plate for 35mm?

    • @AlysVintageCameraAlley
      @AlysVintageCameraAlley  4 роки тому +1

      Sterling thank you. You push the pressure plate down to reveal the numbers 24 x 35 for the 35mm film. I’m currently working on the next part of this video which will be up in a few days

    so if i have the grid on my rollei how to i compose?? which lanes should i use just the middle section?

    • @AlysVintageCameraAlley
      @AlysVintageCameraAlley  2 роки тому +1

      The viewfinder with the grid? Those are just guidelines for composing.

    • @Hackzyyz
      @Hackzyyz 2 роки тому +1

      @@AlysVintageCameraAlley yeah i understand that but since there isnt a 35mm view finder can i use the middle lane to frame the 35mm film

    • @AlysVintageCameraAlley
      @AlysVintageCameraAlley  2 роки тому +1

      @@Hackzyyz oh ok I didn’t understand the question. So my adapter came with a mask that you put on top of the ground glass. If you don’t have that then yes it would be in the middle but it would be hard to judge the size.

    How many shots can be taken with 36 sheets of 35mm film when the adapter is attached?

    • @AlysVintageCameraAlley
      @AlysVintageCameraAlley  7 місяців тому

      Do you mean 36 rolls of 35mm film? Sorry I don’t understand the question. If you mean 36 frames, then 36 pictures can be taken on a roll of 36 frames. It’s been a while since I used the adapter so I’m not sure if you can squeeze a couple more than that.

    Why shoot 35mm with a Rollei? It’s pointless as you can only shoot vertical images. Your better off shooting with a 35mm camera rather than wasting time with a Rolleiflex. Learn how to shoot square.

    • @AlysVintageCameraAlley
      @AlysVintageCameraAlley  2 роки тому +5

      Idk why I’m even responding to your rude comment but as I said in the video I bought my rollei back when I did t have access to 120 film so this allowed me to shoot with it. Also I hear from many people who use the adapter because they can’t afford 120 film.

      It definitely makes the rolleiflex more versatile. Also if you use the sports finder, it's not hard to use the camera on its side for landscape images. And yes, Aly, I thought he was rude and thought you went above and beyond to answer him.
