@@DigitalRetro I was one clic near of to buy this lens, thanks... this is the video I needed it to decided buy my first 7artisans, thanks. great shots!
I really resonate with your shooting style, your approach to cinema and story, and your ability to create a review that is beautiful to watch and incredibly informative. Well done. You've mastered your craft. And now I'll buy this lens. Dziękuję.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I dont consider myself a master but I appreciate that you find it good! Having fun with photography is my thing and its the same I wish for everyone. Cheers and enjoy this lens as much as I did!
Very nice review, great storytelling and pics. I found that there is an APS-C and a Full Frame version of this lens. This looks like the APS-C but mounted on a Sony full frame, am I right? I ordered the APS-C last night, I have the 25mm and a 50mm F1.1 (M), both great lenses with their own character that makes them special.
I tryied it with nikon z6. The built quality is astonishing good, but: Not only that it´s far away from sharpness of the nikon standard zoom 24-70, there are areas completely unsharp under aperture 16, that are hard to understand because they are irregular. Not the corners or depth of field, just magic. Sent it back. Just for fun use lenses are cheaper.
Me encantó la review, muy concreta pero con un POV muy desde la pasión y el romanticismo que uno busca en lentes antigos que no buscan la perfección. Gracias!!
Hello. consult, I understand that this lens does not have a focus motor and neither does my sony a7ii. So the focus is completely manual? about that question, what would be the difference with adapting an old lens to my camera? does it have any difference?
Hi! Yes this lens makes focus work completely manual. The major difference between this lens and adapting the old manual lens(like m42/minolta/canon etc) is, well, the adaption :) You need an adapter to put old manual lens on sony E mount. This lens has native sony E mount so you get it as compact as possible without any adapters + you get a new lens without fungus/oil leaks and so on. Of course the other thing is the character - all lenses render differently. This one renders close to Helios 44-2 if I had to compare it to older vintage glasses. The difference is helios is 58mm f2 and this is 35mm f1.4.
Do you find vignette issues as a big problem on this lense? And what about the manual focus speed? Do you recommend it to capture the moment in wedding photography?
@@rdto the vignette doesn`t bother me at all as I mosty use this lens for portraits and closer shots. As for the wedding - well this lens offers a great focus ring that rotates for about 55degrees so it`s really easy to develop the muscle memory for the focusing - it also comes with quite comfortable thumb rest that screws onto the focus ring, so with some practice and if you are comfortable with manual focus it can be pretty cool to capture wedding shots with that "vintage" look.
Thank you so much for this.
You are welcome! Keep up the good work with manual lenses 🔥

I just had this lens ordered. Hadn't seen any reviews on it. The only 35mm reviews I could find were for the 35mm 1.2 i and ii!
Great! Have fun with it - hope you`ll enjoy.
Probably the best review so far. Short, simple & precise. Great job!
Thank you! Much appreciated.
you made this review a true story! this is too good.. Thank you, I love this.
Thank you very much and I`m glad you like it!
A complete piece, you made your case well. Well done.

Did you order apsc for full frame? How's the virette?
@@vvipoo The apsc was intended for my Sony A6000

Will this fit on olympus em10 mark ii?
Did you check the latest mark ii version and do you think it as any better than the one in your video?
Unfortunately not, but I did see it on the web - maybe I`ll get my chance if there`s a possibility to lend one? @7artisans are you listening? ;)
hello, I just wanted to know if manul focus assist [focused area lines] will work with this lens ?
Hi! Yes of course.
@@DigitalRetro thank you so much
nice!
So the crop lens covers the full frame?
This is not a crop lens. It's a FF version mate.
So do you guys like to shoot with manual lenses?
Do you find vignette issues as a big problem on this lense? And what about the manual focus speed? Do you recommend it to capture the moment in wedding photography?

This one or 17mm f1.4 from them?
I believe the 17mm 1.4 is from TTartisan and it covers APS-C, not full frame like this one - but I haven`t tried it yet, so I cant really tell.
Very very nice review. Thank you.
Thanks man! Glad you like it.
Brother, you don’t have to shoot everything at 1.4
I have Myopia - just sharing my POV xD
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Okay.
Poświętne : ) pzdr
👎 for Sony 👎 Cheap Chinese lenses
I'd highly recommend the 7artisans 35mm1.2 mark2! @xftales
