That means it detected a code but it doesn't detect a problem anymore... if you drive long enough and the problem doesn't come back the light will go out.
Very helpful. My light came on 2 days ago and I've been going crazy. Opened the hood and saw that the Power Steering Fluid was very low--so I replaced it. Light is still on. Will follow the instructions you provided and see what happens. I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. Thanks again
It did work on mine but for mine it said done and the light came on and off repeatedly and at the end it stayed on and didn’t throw any codes can somebody help pleas
I tried this about 20 times on my 2011 Wrangler JK and nothing happened. Any idea why? I tried it slow, fast, all the way off, only to acc, literally everything?

Not without a code reader...if it says done it means it's not currently "active" so it may go away if it was a one time thing. FYI Autozone and some other parts places will read the code for free..
That means it detected a code but it doesn't detect a problem anymore... if you drive long enough and the problem doesn't come back the light will go out.
When it says done that means there was an error but there isn't one currently so it's basically what's called a stored code but it's not active..... At least that's my understanding.
uchihaitachi34 where the mileage is... The video it said done because it had shown the code and for some reason wouldn't show it again but the mileage line is where it will show the code and it will show the whole P code.
thank you, worked great! What was the outcome for you with that code (P0128) - that's the same one I have. My coolant is low, but I'm not sure if there is a leak or if it's a thermostat issue?
They replaced the thermostat... These thermostats fail wide open versus cars from a long time ago where they failef closed... My symptom was the heater never really worked that well and then I got the code so I took it in.

If it is happening while the engine is running it means there is a condition bad enough for you to pull over and shut the vehicle off..ie: serious! I've seen this on a diesel pickup when the particulate filter was getting clogged (part of emmisions system).

that means it's not "active" and if the fault doesn't happen again the code will clear after some criteria (number of starts or miles or time) has happened. Basically it's saying "you recently had a problem" vs "you have a problem"...unfortunately it doesn't tell you what that recent problem was...
I’m doing the same thing but I’m getting no code just says done and light is still on

worked in my 08 jeep wrangler today! thanks

Sorry no clue..maybe 2011 is different?..if you get NonE message that means it didn't find anything.
You just saved me a lot of time and stress.. Thank you sir🙌🏾
I’m having the same problem with my JKU, I did the test and it said done but the check engine light is still on

That’s why it doesn’t let the smog check test be done right
If you missed the code that came up is there anyway to re do it? Mines just saying done now
Not without a code reader... Sorry... But it does mean the code is not active so it doesn't detect a problem right now
@@BubbasWorkshop thanks for the reply, would that mean there’s possibly no problem now?

Did you change your thermostat or how did you fix it? I'm in Texas and its 48 degrees and my light came on
It was still under warranty when that happened but yes I do believe it was just a thermostat change - they fail in the open position.
Is there a way to reset the Check engine light? Mine also never showed a code, but light is still on.
You have to get a code reader to reset it but if there's no problem anymore it will turn off by itself after I think 10 or 15 trips.

Si dice eco se puede cambiar eso ???
I tried this and it wouldn’t work. Show how you turn the key!
This is off subject, but I saw your video on recycling the CAB Rodent Repellent and would like to know how that turned out. Please respond! Thank you!
Not sure yet...I'll post a detailed response in the comments of that video..thanks!
Worried fine!
Yeah man, it worked for me
Hi! I think there’s an easier way to do it. You just have to hold the reset button and turn it to on :)
Where's the reset button?
Yeah exactly what reset button lol
Answer the damn question!

Turn key to on then back to acc and on 3 times and you can do it a little slower
Worked great

Bubba's Workshop after it shows it once it won’t do it again. If it’s the same code

After trying this my check engine light went off. Thanks!
Mine too, what do I do???

Do u turn back all the way to Off? Your lights didn't go out so I'm guessing not.
MegaHowtoMan yes all the way to off
He did not turn the key all the way to off, that's why it didn't work.
Anyone know what it is if the check engine light blinks and the code doesnt show up?

I don't think he wanted us to see the code because it said buy a Toyota
They don't have anything that can be flat towed because they don't have a real transfer case you can put in neutral...I wish they did.
