The members mentioned that they actually shot this MV BEFORE Kingdom, and after participating in Kingdom, they found their colour, which led to them revising the choreo in the stage versions (which I HIGHLY recommend to check out because it's so much more sensuous and beautiful to look at that enhances the song even more than the original choreo does in the MV). The performances they did on Kingdom were heavily inspired by this song/MV that they had already filmed beforehand.

Nobody does sexy the way SF9 does, Taeyang was something else this comeback.
I still don't understand how SF9 are still underrated.
At least FNC knows how to give them work, almost all of them are actors and have work.
But SF9 as music dance group is great and deserve so much more.
Fun fact to PD and viewers: Teardrop and its album, Turn Over, was filmed and prepped during January and February for a March release. However, after getting invited to Kingdom, they decided to push it back and participate in the competition. Basically this MV was made even way before Kingdom. However, they fully rechoreographed the song adding in that genderless image they took from their Move performance in Teardrop. It is absolutely amazing to see SF9 adopt this genre as not many have done it. Articles have praised them for taking the baton of the appraised soloist Taemin who embodies the genderless concept basically saying SF9 is filling the void Taemin has left with this newly found concept.
In addition, Teardrop is the last video for their trilogy 9lory, SF9’s universe that combined their previous works since debut shown in Good Guy to Summer Breeze and now Teardrop.

I found SF9 from Kingdom and their last 2 performances really pulled me, especially Taeyang. So incredible that they changed the choreo now that they have found their color.

I had no idea 9lory was a trilogy! Is that why the logo looked mostly like a 9 for those comebacks? That confused me so dang much, I was wondering if that "new" logo had a flipped or upside down S or F in it...and then Trauma seemed to go back to the OG logo 😅 (only just got into SF9 recently)

The MV for me really holds you in a trance purely with the visual. When I say I was nauseated for days (for good reasons) every time I watched it.

Yootaeyang made the performance choreography and he mentioned that he tried his best to show a genderless sexiness which he did it amazingly you should definitely watch the choreo video and the live performances

they filmed this before kingdom, PD! they actually shaped all their kingdom performances to sort of tease and set the base for the storyline for this! then on kingdom, they found their colour and revised the choreo! I recommend you check the new choreo out too!!

I don't know why, but for me the mv give me Greek gods vibes, where they seem like sad or bored giant gods. This is probably because of the camera's moves that for me make them look giants, more than they already are 😅
I just think this was the perfect next step for sf9 they really found their brand this year of being mature and sexy and the fact that they changed their choreo for tear drop, after kingdom shows that they grew a lot from that experience and found their groups image

I like the minimal, chic sound of the song and how they complemented it with the redone choreo. It makes a nice change from the typical loud & heavy Kpop songs you hear from a lot of boy groups now when it comes up in a playlist.

Really like their house-driven sound, and the bell tones in this makes it feel like a Christmas-y song too lol. I immediately thought of Wish List by f(x); I'm So Sick by Apink also has the same feel.
Definitely a work of art! Everything is so beautiful; the sound, the visual, the cinematography, the dance...very aesthetically pleasing and elegant. What I really love abt sf9 is they manage to set them apart from other groups and have a distinct colour; even if it’s not the most popular concept rn. But tbh, not many groups can pull off this kind of concept too. So yea, well done sf9!
They were supposed to release tear drop in February but then Kingdom happened and they pushed the comeback. Snake and bracelet are summer breeze and good guy respectively. With tear drop, they completed their 9glory trilogy.
I went into Kingdom preparing to only watch btob stages but I ended up watching all of SF9’s and became a Stan ☠️😻☠️

I think they grew into their elegant and aloof image and just pushed it to the limit, giving them a more singular personality. It didn’t hurt that they were sweet hard-working guys with some great performance ideas on Kingdom. I really, really like their new album.

I am a fantasy and pd nim’s follower. Not gonna lie when I watched tear drop my I was actually thinking “ oh pd will like this part” the part we’re inseong is there and the camera turns 180 and then that scene when everybody is like statute and jaeyoon is singing, I kinda knew that ox nim will like them the most. This me was actually something that pdnim would have liked and ofc he did seeing that how much he liked observing camera work and saturation stuff. Ik he has been following sf9 since their debut and m so happy for that. But ig he hasn’t reacted on easy love? But yeah he did mention it earlier. I really like how he always notices zuho

SF9, creativity wise, have never ceased to amaze me. RPM was the song that got me hooked on them because the song was so good but the music video told such an awesome story. Tear Drop is my favorite mv of their’s because the artistic style of it just had me floored! I’m really proud and happy with how they’ve managed their creative aspects because not a lot of kpop groups do that. But yeah, please look into SF9 y’all!
I highly recommend reacting to the live stage because Yoo Taeyang changed the entire choreo 🥰
The performances take this comeback up there with Now or Never and RPM (my personal favorites). And I say performance"s" because they have different choreos. One for the MV. And 2 others. One demo performance which was way more hard hitting and fast. A typical boy group choreo. However they decided to change the choreo they made in January this year because they found that the more sexy and elegant direction suits them and the song better during Kingdom. Thats why they changed the choreo 5 days before the release completely.
You can tell that they worked really hard for this. I'am sure that I have watched every single performance on music shows as well as each fancam of Taeyang. I can’t stand his sexiness omg.
SF9 for me is the only group I spend so much time to watch every performance for EACH comeback.

Wow, your reactions/reviews of MVs are seriously so good PD! While I enjoyed the MV, the stages with the revamped choreography definitely stole my attention away from focusing on this video, and you made me appreciate the camerawork and all the minute details so much more! Fell in love with them during Kingdom and this comeback definitely did NOT disappoint at all!

Im also so happy to know you are getting more into sf9 after kingdom actually when i got to know sf9 last year i was so surprised at how these guys are not that huge bcz they has it all and by the time i noticed it's fnc who doesn't promote them as a group that much i mean yeah all the members are always busy with solo activities but as a group they're not promoted enough they don't give them the opportunity to show their artistry on the big stages and it had to happen on kd after all these years which is sad

omgomgomg thank you so much for doing a reaction and review for sf9!! there are so few /good reactors who do sf9 and its such a shame because they really do have amazing music! unfortunately the unconventional style of their music video like in now or never and in tear drop has not made them immensely popular :(
edit: the music video's simplicity and minimalistic concept really goes well with the clean and subtle vibe of the song, and im glad youre really appreciating this! a lot of commentors have already mentioned this, but do check out their live stages. they changed the choreo and while the mv's choreo was cool, wait till you see the changed one.

i’ve also been slowly getting into sf9, and watching them on kingdom really secured me as a fan. you might find the live stages for this one interesting because the choreo is completely different. i saw some fantasy saying that this was filmed prior to kingdom ending, and after participating on the show taeyang redid the entire choreo

This mv was filmed before Kingdom, and after the end of the show they changed the choreography and Taeyang made a new one. I suggest you to watch a couple of live performances or the dance practice to see the new one choreography, it’s amazing!

I also got into them after Kingdom. They impressed me the most. Move was a masterpiece unlike anything. On par with some of BTS’s performances. The Stealer was also great. I love Teardrop as well. It’s super catchy.
BTS was never the best perfomers in kpop scene, they're definitely good but there's a lot of groups who are better than them performance wise, just because they are the biggest doesn't mean they are the greatest
@@kiritsu79 you may not think they’re the best performers, but they do by far have the best performances. Yes, several groups might have an overall higher level among the members, but no one does it like them. And that was from before they had tons of money to put on a small concert, with a perfected concept at an awards show. I’m somewhat a multi myself and follow many groups, yet there’s a reason BTS is on top right now.
The whole comeback was ready prior to kingdom but they delayed because of it but they did change the choreography for the song after Kingdom
