this is such a beautiful song. And it shows, how Marco and Floor have mastered the art of singing together, they know how to do the dual vocals in any combination of emphasis.
Floor and Marko sound spectacular together no matter which is leading. I've rarely heard a pair of voices that just seem to belong together to that degree.
Not all singers have Floor Jansen doing backup singing :-D He also sings Kiss while your lips are still red, with Floor doing backups. The one from Wembley is really good.
They often play While Your Lips Are Still Red and/or My Walden next to this song and Marko uses both the guitar and the bass parts in those songs, so he has the double-neck guitar so he doesn't have to switch for one song
Marko isn't only a member of Nightwish and Tarot, he has a solo career, he's a member of Northern Kings (a group of metal singers coming together to cover old pop songs in a metal style) and an un-official member of Delain. Delain is a band you should definitely check out, "Nothing Left" live with Marko is what I'd recommend

This song shows once again how versatile band Nightwish is. And how good "second vocalist" they have. Many has suggested Pink Floyd cover "High Hopes" where Marko sings whole song. I also suggest that. But, if you have time, listen first original song and then do reaction to Nightwish cover. You can see and hear the difference... Marko´s doubleneck, yes he needs it in several times. Good sample is song "Weak Fantasy" from Tampere 2015. Most of the time Marko plays bass, but middle part song is like a melo part. For a moment there is 3 "guitars" on stage. "Guitars" = Marko´s doubleneck guitar, Emppu´s electric guitar and Troys Irish bouzouki. Marko plays guitar in similar position like you saw in this video. When that melo part ends, Marko just drop his leg down, his guitar drops same time and he continues playing with bass and starts same time singing. There would be no time to go change instrument. Check that song also. There is also video with lyrics from Tampere 2015.

Yep, a Warwick Infinity - Panthera Double neck Bass and Guitar, but I think they are custom shop built and this one is to Marko's requirements. He does use it in several places and comments just how heavy it is, so here he has that block to rest a foot upon and so it raises the 6 string neck to a playable position and takes the weight off the strap.
I would recommend listening to The Siren by Nightwish from their End of an Era concert. One of their best performances for that song and also very different from a lot of their compositions. Thanks for these reactions! :D
That double bass/guitar is a heavy beast. Finnish is a very difficult language. Floor has been attempting to learn it so she can communicate with the boys (except Troy) in their native tongue. She claims it is extremely complicated. Nice job again guys! See you next time. Be well and stay safe.

Yeah, this is in Finland - Tampere is the 2nd biggest city, industrial hub locally. It's often compared to Manchester, if we compare the 2 nations. They have a township called Manse, so a nickname for Tampere is Mansester(i).
Markos dad was an english teacher, so he spoke english to the boys before they went to school. So did my dad too, so I already spoke quite well english before I started school. If you want to hear Marko singing in Finnish with Nightwish check out Hilma Ja Onni, it's only studio version, it's on a tribute record to a Finnish singer...something different from them.

my dad was in the Air Force and I lived in England .. RAF Upper Heyford for three years as a kid. The first month if I listed to the radio I could NOT understand you guys unless I concentrated really hard .. although you were speaking English .. then .. all of a sudden after about 30 days it was like a switch was thrown and it made perfect sense.
