- Lucille Ball and Gene Kelly sing Cole Porter's "Friendship" on Gene Kelly's television special, "An American in Pasadena". Originally aired on the 13th March, 1978.
Adorable. "Come on, Lucy, it wasn't a Strong movement."
Lol
Just discovered this gem. Who doesn't Love ❤Lucy? As a kid, repeatedly saw DuBarry on TV. Lucy was a star in films ,before TV! 🎉 😎
Two Icons that the world will never see or hear again EVER !!!!!!!!
What a shock when she tore off that dress to reveal those Ziegfeld dancer legs. Wow!
That's entertainment.
Love how Gene dances Lucy over to center stage
Fun lyrics for a couple of pals to sing ... seem even more appropriate when they were older.
That one line in the song "If you ever lose your teeth when you're out to dine, borrow mine", makes more sense at their age.
Lucy and Gene are amazing! I ❤️ Lucy!
When they did it in the movie Lucy looked great!
Their hug at the end is so genuine and charming
I adore Lucille Ball
This is Excellent ..wow the queen of comedy and Gene Kelly..king toi
Smiling from ear to ear love this so much.
CLASS CLASS CLASS
❤ both amazing
I've got to see this whole special.
They both look great.
I would have BET Lucille Ball NEVER sang in a movie, after hearing her in Mame! Oh! I love her, but she did not have a singing voice! Just now I saw the movie clip with Red Skelton. Then I thought: "Oh my, is that a young Gene Kelly?!" They danced, she sang, not to badly, then I remembered that Lucy and Ethel did this song in "I Love Lucy." It was funny, remember? They each bought the same dress and proceeded to ruin each other's dress during the number! Now I know where she got the idea! To whomever posted this, thank you!
This is the only song in the movie that used Ball's actual voice. All the others were dubbed.
Actually Lucy did sing the Friendship song in that film - also in the film Dance, Girl, Dance, she sang all her songs
Also Lucy sang, "Breezing Along With The Breeze"in Long Long Trailer.
love this!😍
We need this song to be in tik-tock
Lucy had great legs!
LOL. She wasn't dressed anything like this in the movie!
Thanks for say it!! A long pink gorgeous dress. It's a wonderful clip. Red Skelton was marvelous too... in fact, I think he was the best part of it!!!!!
@@ginnylorenz5265 I loved the way Lucy looked in that long pink dress did show off her ability to dance, sing and look beautiful.
She was painted... way too heavy makeup... she looks like a drag queen... and I LOVE Lucy..
Lucy's voice didn't age gracefully!! And all that make-up on that wrinkly face...!!
