Even Lasker couldn't believe he won...since he was playing from the upper side of the board
I want to try and give Marshall props for choosing that opening against Lasker. However, I wouldn't play the queen's gambit against Lasker unless I felt like I was a Capablanca.
Great game from two legendary Chess Players!
hi mato. love your videos. one request though. sometimes show games with tough endgame tactics and fights. endgames are also fun dont you think so?
Man this is a battle of titans!
I like your new edits Mato.
Mato can you do another Kramnik series?
Best game
the names of black and white keep changing...
i was confused by the end
a b - no, they never changed, Mato never made a mistake, I watched it twice, next time stay alert through the game
when tal's games??? thanks!
6:15 whats wrong with capturing the knight? sure white recaptures but rook takes bishop next no?
What a complicated game. I couldn't keep up. Top chess players must be geniuses.
I'm so confused was Lasker white or Marshall white? Hope you can avoid such mistakes next time Mato.
What was the mistake?
In title XvsY X is white and Y is black
The title is correct
Yes it is i was just pointing that out to the confused guy- you've used same system in titles throughout your videos white and black can be identified by title alone.
Lasker always wins, no matter what the title says.
Was the position really lost, when Marshall resigned? It is not so clear for me.
I meant rather, was the position lost for white after the extra moves Mato was so kind to show us in the end?
Piecewise or rather logically it seems fair that white resigned as Knight is rather weak against long range rook in such open games, white might have been able to defend for long and might've won if Lasker would've made a mistake but that was unlikely.
Hassan Ali Husseini Yes, it's completely lost. Adolf the a-pawn can't be stopped. Black needs to safeguard against back rank mate, and white can manage to centralize both king and nook prolonging the game, but on GM level there's no question. The rook beats the nook...
Thanks for your answer!
And thank you, too!
marshall lost slowly but surely

strange game
This is a confusing lecture, where the players seemed to switch colors during the game...
Bruyneel nothing confusing here, no switching of colors
Mato referred multiple times to Marshall playing with black pieces, and that was very confusing indeed. But due to many complains about that, it seems that Mato edited this lecture, and uploaded the corrected version.
At the beginning you say Marshall had white pieces. ;)
at sec. 30
PhlegethonianStream correct, Mato was always consistent who is who
No he wasn't consistent. It was very confusing, but the lecture has been edited.
