Shakur defense is highly overrated since it's almost exclusively based on keeping the distance while his low quality or very physically disadvantaged opponents try to overreach with wild punches, but if you pay attention, once the opponent closes the distance he's just average at best, his head and hip movement is average if anything, every time the distance is broken he kind of suffers a little and eat some punches, but i definitely have to admit his guard is very good. When you fight a fast, slick, aggressive and powerful boxer like Edwin, you'll need a lot more than a Jab to keep him away from you, Edwin is going to hurt him bad.

He is certainly nowhere near Shakur's level, particularly on defense. If santos isn't getting through the guard effectively and he's winning mostly on activity, he's gonna have much more trouble against someone like Shakur. He has a chance, but he can't let it be a close fight or the judges will likely give it to Shakur anyway
