Seeing how the fight ended, the entity (forgot their name) realized that he went too far with that last attack. Another thing I noticed is that, the entity here seems a lot more "Fun and games" then actually inflicting pain onto others. Seems to me like, at the very beginning, it's intentions were actually to have fun. That's actually rather sad, especially since the person who's mind was transported into Mario didn't even flinch at the thought, he just went for it, unburdened by what just happened to them. The entity literally had the perfect person to play with, but since he went too far with the Final Hour attack, it's likely that person perished. Maybe that's the reason things get out of control later on.
Since these were from much earlier times, I believe Buggy stuck to the script a lot more and didn't aggressively invade levels with his influence so much. His punishment for people cheating in his game was much less harsh, there were no instant-death situations the player couldn't have escaped from and things definitely felt more restrained on his part. But this also means at some point Buggy stopped caring about the loss of life his "games" caused.
I find it interesting how whatever entity is in control here doesn’t want to kill our protagonists, but instead play with them for all eternity. Because they are from a video game, it makes sense that they would want to play with the player, as that is their primary purpose, to entertain and challenge the player. This is also probably why the boss fights are fair. It’s no fun if the player has no chance and the entity wins every time.
Yeah that's how I see it. But at some point he stopped caring about the loss of life he caused seeing that 31 other people died to him after the the first.

Huge props for the way you made Buggy to be. It's a malevolent and cruel entity that pulls it's victims inside the game and tortures them till their death, like many other creepypasta/horror antagonists do, but it's only because it doesn't know any better, and from it's perspective it's playing and is having fun with players and sees nothing wrong, not knowing what it puts them through (i assume), it makes it look kinda like a child in a way I feel so much loathing, but at the same time i can't help but just kinda feel bad for it
I don't believe Buggy is capable of performing MD (mental digitisation) on the players, I feel like that's either Scorched Peach (dark haired + armed peach) or the game itself doing this.

We're back. o) If Buggy (the one-eyed entity) had taken its first human soul in the form of whoever was playing Mario, this means he always had a bit of a mean streak in him from the beginning. He always took things a little too far and resulted in many people dying from his "games" but things got progressively worse over time. What we can get from this video is that Buggy wasn't always such a stickler for the rules and wouldn't straight up torture characters to punish them. Even with someone who literally cheated (by using Peach to suppress his abilities, interestingly enough...) and rendered him unable to fight back, he played relatively fair and didn't trap the character in any instant-loss situations. This player death felt very unintended to the point that Buggy paused the game and went into some sort of despair. Also note that while he still has influence over the levels, they're much less aggressive. It's like... he's sticking to the script a lot more. Additionally Peach, or Scorched Peach as I'll call her (burnt dark arms + hair), seems to have something to do with human souls getting pulled into the game. I'm uncertain whether she tried to prevent or cause it but for me it seems like she caused it. The description at the beginning refers to a "rogue AI", I think she's as rogue as it gets concerning this game, Buggy is obviously supposed to be here but she's not. Ultimately I feel like all this means several things. Mental Digitisation happens (or at least happened) outside of Buggy's control and is result of the game itself doing this, Scorched Peach was never properly deleted and only suppressed, with Buggy's version of peach likely being a different entity he calls on, and at some point Buggy grew dulled to the deaths he caused as the result of MD. Well that's my 50 cents on all this.

You finally uploaded!! I missed this series, thought it was over from Episode 7 but nope, it wasn't over, this episode was an absolute beast, incredible work man. All I just can say is bravo, wow. This video was absolute perfection. Excited to see Episode 9!!
Something really interesting to note is that before this Mario got hit each time, a save state 0 would be saved and then loaded. This happens each and every time, presumably being done by Buggy. This shows that he really was just trying to have fun, coupled with his despair at the end. Its worth noting Buggy saves every time until until the final area. To chalk it up, it seems Buggy forgot to save and lost his playmate data. Edit: Buggy not Billy :)
Either that or Final Hour was so powerful that it prevented Buggy from resurrecting the unnamed player. Buggy could use the Save State from long distances as shown when he helped Andrew in episode 7.
So, this is the person Buggy mentioned in the previous episode after digitizing Andrew into Luigi (Episode 7, Sentence), that after this victim (Mario) cheated, he said he “went into a fit of rage, and somehow managed to transport their very essence into the game”, although it seems Peach knew about Buggy’s ability to do this and judging by her appearance on the MD segment, was trying to stop or prevent Buggy from fully digitizing this player. He mentioned their time together did not last very long, which is shown here at the end with whoever’s soul inhabited Mario died *in the game*. Meaning their very soul was now reduced to nothing. After this, Buggy then went on to digitize Andrew. I think this concept of Buggy actually destroying the avatar/soul itself (at least that’s how im interpreting it) isn’t new and it does look he eventually did this to Andrew in Episode 4 (Execution) which chronologically takes place in June 2022 after 7 & 8 (both January 2022), when after he tries cheating again, Buggy goes into a rage and literally incinerates Andrew, which I believe was him destroying the avatar/soul. So now both of these people are permanently dead because of Buggy.
You're a bit wrong there, Andrew is still alive just a puppet to Buggy, Zachary eventually plays the game and finds Andrew who tells him to input a cheat code to get Zach to Peach but Buggy soon catches on to the plan and disables cheat codes, which Andrew then begs Zachary to quickly turn off the game before he gets got, unfortunately it was too late and Zach was sucked into the game, however it seems at somepoint he was able to get the Cheat Code(I think?) before Buggy can stop him, he then comes across Peach's remains which was after Wario tricked Andrew into defeating her, Zachary then proceeds to absorb her remains to gain all of her power, but by the looks of video before this Zach was sent somewhere by Buggy unable to move.
One thing to note. That this is a SNES, The Boss fights DAMN THEY WERE COOKING WITH THE BOSSES. this has bangers, 15:19 I felt like i was actually gonna get killed, it sent chills to my spine. I couldn't forget what i saw in this video. Also thanks for the nighmares!

To think I just watched this entire series a few days ago and a new episode just got uploaded now, with an upcoming one next year. I have to say, it is insanely high quality.
13:10 This is my favorite part of this whole episode seriously How are they going to do this kind of gameplay IT'S SO AMAZING AND PERFECT Seriously man after 1 year of the last episode it came back. Happy Halloween This episode It's one of the best now we have to wait until next year for episode 9 I can't wait any longer 0D
I think i have an idea on how the mental digitization (md) might work. The random assortment of colors flashing on screen and the weird sounds (or what i believe to be the md process) can somehow mess with ones brain and maybe hypnotize them so they will see themselves in the game rather then real life. This process will eventually kill the victim and lock their consciousness in the game.
I just finished watching the entire series and it was amazing people should cover this more to be honest it is very good and I love the character and concept of buggy as well
This video appears to be a direct sequel of episode 5. Here we see Buggy at his absolute prime, before the Peach incident, toying with its victims while there is nothing the player can to to escape the game. Interesting, as evil as Buggy already was, he seemed somewhat more civil before the Peach incident. Here he simply gets angry at the player for cheating, while in episode 4 Andrew in Luigi’s body got burned alive for cheating.
Okay, discussion time. To the people that aren’t caught up on the timeline, if you look in the description of the video, you will see that this apparent arrangement of gameplay clips all play footage of Version 122.38A of The Power Star Project, which is the same version of the project from Episode 5, the previously earliest episode in the timeline. Furthermore, the beginning of the video states that the clips uploaded on the website they found them on were recorded from January 12th to January 17th of 2022, meaning this episode is now our new earliest point in the timeline. The video’s ending also confirms this as it’s the same scenery from the beginning of Episode 5, where Mario hopped up into action, only at the end of this episode, he was knocked out cold by Buggy, which upset the AI in question and caused him to have a tantrum within the game, leaving Mario to wake up entirely on his own at the beginning of Episode 5. Don’t exactly know what the deal is with that one edited portion of the video where PEACH_AI pops in is all about, but I’m all ears to see what you guys think. Just wanted to clear things up because this episode’s actually the first in the timeline, meaning Andrew or Zach haven’t gotten into contact with the game just yet.
Yk, seeing as Luigi (Andrew) tries looking for Mario in the previous entries really makes me wonder if Mario and whoever he was is truly dead. Seeing how well he managed I feel like if he did survive he's a key asset in whatever is happening, like if he comes back he will actually be a threat to buggy or the peach ai. It is stated that he's likely dead but it never is confirmed even if the ending makes it seem to be.
Player 122(Mario) is probably dead, Buggy tried to get him up and he didn't and by this time Buggy was unfamiliar with digitalizing and souls, so Buggy couldn't have revived 122.
I find it interesting that the entity truly wants to play and have fun with his guests, but goes too far. Especially here, he finds someone who wants to have fun as much as him and doesn’t bat an eye at his games, but the entity goes too far and presumably kills him.
Now, chronologically speaking, this could be located before Andrew's playthrough and way before Ross's playthrough, this is definitely player 122 who was digitalized into the game possibly after not sending the download link in 3 days, and on "Sentence" Wario says that he was incredibly mad because "He cheated!" Entity calls any kind of rule breaking cheating even if it is not, im assuming that 122 did not send the download link to anyone, got a extended playthrough, Entity got mad and he digitalized him into the game but we do not have a clear date of recording so this is just a theory. All we know is that it cannot be Andrew or Ross, this is probably the 122th player of Project Star. Edit: Looking at other videos, the version matches with player 122 of Project Star and also the date of video 1/12/2022-1/17/2022 matches with the last video of 122(Project Star 5-Wario apparition) so this happens right after this video and 122 gets digitalized.
Here's what I've noticed. Buggy is a hypocrite. He gets mad at players for cheating in his game, but then in all his bossfights, he cheats. He makes himself invincible, has attacks no normal player can dodge, and still has the circuits to get mad when a player tries to even the playing field
@@Nanabebe-m2rI kind of think the way he would die is if your a program speedrunner, you could go to the area which has buggy’s code, delete all of it, delete the spritesheets, and then he’s gone.
I hope the entity finds a player that likes the idea of playing for eternity. Mabye then the entity would stop being as scary and would make the game a nice place to live
You know, hearing the Wario Land 4 voice clips makes me think of a video i saw analyzing the sound design of the game. When discussing Wario's voice clips, he mentioned how inhuman and artificial Wario sounded. Like someone having fun with edits and filters. The abnormal uncanniness is especially fitting when applied to Buggy Wario.
This was amazing, love the boss fight, the music, everything!! The one thing I realized after watching this and rewatching episode 7 “Sentence”, that the player who got sucked into the game as Mario was the “Cheater”, Buggy was referring to previously. He was the first person to be mentally digitized into the game before Andrew until he perished. The other thing I realized when the “Cheater” was mentally digitized was that Peach appeared during it, making me think she has something to do with this since Buggy believed he was able to bring the players into the game. But that is just my theory for this.
So the entity just wants to play i guess...now i kinda feel bad. But also. It seems like he killed Mario with the Final Hour by accident but like, "Yeah a giant energy ball ive been charging for 10 straight seconds wont hurt him. Yeah thats right".
I can't believe is so well made in many ways, EXCEPT for the walking animation. Is very VERY important to make the body a bit lower in one frame or more, or else the movement will look weird.
Gotta give it to Buggy. It may be a childish, manipulative, soul-stealing AI, but damn, does he know how to make awesome boss fights with awesome music!
I’m so curious which parts of this were achieved with editing and which parts were just flat out in-game, since I know the capabilities of the SMBX engine have skyrocketed since I last touched the game. Incredible stuff
Also Mario/Player 122 was basically the only one who got closest to beating buggy at his own game, whoever was connected to Andrew might be the only person who could possibly kill Buggy now
I mean, the person digitized into Mario's body could've very easily been killed by Buggy's last attack, with some other poor Schaub picking up where the left off, especially with how Buggy freaks out like he killed him at the end.
Ngl this would be a jarring but fun sequence if it were an actual game, I love Mario horror games that have actual gameplay cus it shows that the entity inside wants to have fun instead of the “walk right” formula
Seeing how the fight ended, the entity (forgot their name) realized that he went too far with that last attack.
Another thing I noticed is that, the entity here seems a lot more "Fun and games" then actually inflicting pain onto others.

Interesting, how do you know this player’s name is Billy?
@SprainedSentinel They misspelled Buggy. We don't know what the player is called
@@Nanabebe-m2r Oh.
@@Nanabebe-m2r Thanks for the heads up!
Buggy sounds a lot more devious when he threatened to possess Mario's body in episode 5. So much for wanting a playmate
I’ve been waiting for this for so long and I gotta say that every single minute was worth it. Great job man I love your work! :D
I like how buggy's literally makes a masterpiece of music
Someone can explain me all The History ? [All, please, i want know all]

I felt like i was actually gonna get killed, it sent chills to my spine.
I couldn't forget what i saw in this video.
Also thanks for the nighmares!
Dude really got digitalized, thrown into the video game and didn’t think twice before throwing down with the ai instead of running away
Mad props to him honestly.
Buggy did a little too much trolling
Fired off his Kamehameha to much
To think I just watched this entire series a few days ago and a new episode just got uploaded now, with an upcoming one next year.
I have to say, it is insanely high quality.
AAAAAHHHHH!! FINALLY SOMETHING FUN TO WATCH THANK YOU GREENLIGHT 0()D
13:10 This is my favorite part of this whole episode seriously How are they going to do this kind of gameplay IT'S SO AMAZING AND PERFECT Seriously man after 1 year of the last episode it came back.
Happy Halloween This episode It's one of the best now we have to wait until next year for episode 9 I can't wait any longer 0D
it was the first of November when this was made, this was NOT Halloween
I think i have an idea on how the mental digitization (md) might work. The random assortment of colors flashing on screen and the weird sounds (or what i believe to be the md process) can somehow mess with ones brain and maybe hypnotize them so they will see themselves in the game rather then real life. This process will eventually kill the victim and lock their consciousness in the game.
I just finished watching the entire series and it was amazing people should cover this more to be honest it is very good and I love the character and concept of buggy as well
The difference between Buggy when he first appeared and this episode is insane. Buggy actually feels like a god in here
This video appears to be a direct sequel of episode 5.
I think this is before powerstar archives 5
Man i think the same thing about this be a "presequel" to the episode 5 because of the ending
@@StickmanGamer131it doesn't exactly make sense because buggy goes in and attacks mario anyway
That is why he sounds angry at himself
8:42 "Don't you recognize your own girlfriend?" Ahh moment 💀
Buggy thinks he is in Mario's Madness V2 😭🙏
I cannot wait for the full series to come out so I can binge it.
I'm still confused about the lore but this mario analog horror is peak :D
Dude… I WANNA PLAY THIS SO BADDD!!! THIS LOOKS AMAZING!!!!!
It just keeps getting even better oh my GOD
12:05 Love Sign "Master Spark"! I know it isn't Touhou reference, but c'mon
Here's what I've noticed.
Buggy is a hypocrite.
He gets mad at players for cheating in his game, but then in all his bossfights, he cheats. He makes himself invincible, has attacks no normal player can dodge, and still has the circuits to get mad when a player tries to even the playing field
Nice observation. He is probably scared that if his opponent is equal to him in power, he could actually die.
I was just thinking about this series and was sad I forgot it’s name I am so glad that it came out now
You know, hearing the Wario Land 4 voice clips makes me think of a video i saw analyzing the sound design of the game. When discussing Wario's voice clips, he mentioned how inhuman and artificial Wario sounded. Like someone having fun with edits and filters. The abnormal uncanniness is especially fitting when applied to Buggy Wario.
babe wake up new power star archive episode
This was an amazing video. The best episode of the series yet
DAMN THE MUSIC IS SO VERY COOL FIRE !!!
THE KING HAS RETURNED!
5:06 the first human soul of the game.
Edit: my bad he's not player #1 it's player #123.
Could you please elaborate?
@davidherreragonzalez6145 ,no i regret writting this.
And still that looked like that. For some reason.
@Cuentaaltern4 alrighty then!
@@davidherreragonzalez6145 , wait now i understand what happened, he's the third soul of the Game.
The one who cheated, i looks like he still alive.
The origins of Player 122
To know that it's been 1 whole year since episode 7 came out. It honestly felt longer than a year. Time truly is an illusion.

Oh my god, that's gonna happen to Mario, I've been watched two days ago. Thanks Green! Let's see what it goes next time...
No me di cuenta que volvió no me lo esperaba
Finally He Returned
If i was the entity i would just load a save state or something, or maybe be like “nuh uh uh you have 3 lives!” just for shits n giggles
You know, what if this player was number 122 from power star archives 5? That would explain the name "Genesis".
I love the Undertale-style boss battles in this series.
So the entity just wants to play i guess...now i kinda feel bad. But also. It seems like he killed Mario with the Final Hour by accident but like, "Yeah a giant energy ball ive been charging for 10 straight seconds wont hurt him. Yeah thats right".
The way I see it, Buggy is pretty much like a child, doesn't understand what's right or wrong
I can't believe is so well made in many ways, EXCEPT for the walking animation. Is very VERY important to make the body a bit lower in one frame or more, or else the movement will look weird.
Glad to have you back pal!
Light thst is green has returned with more fire and heat 🔥🗣️🗣️
Love the Sonic Mania influence with the first phase of the boss fight.
Your creativity is great
Another Master Piece, thank you.
PEAK DROPPED
I love how this entire episode was just some huge boss rush. God i wish i could play this so badly.
Gotta give it to Buggy. It may be a childish, manipulative, soul-stealing AI, but damn, does he know how to make awesome boss fights with awesome music!
This man is going to fight God.Or become him He is truly *determined* Yet he can only stall He may not have power But he hasn't Lost yet
i love your series!
another banger video from power star project
you saw that amazing boss fight right?, now remember, out there somewhere in the world there is a maniac that could pass that in no-hit
The thumbnail looks sick
WHEN WE NEEDED HIM MOST, HE RETURNED!

Yes
Before Power Star 5. This in the same version as Power Star 5 though but there were different players on the same version

I’m so curious which parts of this were achieved with editing and which parts were just flat out in-game, since I know the capabilities of the SMBX engine have skyrocketed since I last touched the game. Incredible stuff

IT’S TIME!!! (Don’t make me wait that long again.)
Also Mario/Player 122 was basically the only one who got closest to beating buggy at his own game, whoever was connected to Andrew might be the only person who could possibly kill Buggy now
Not 122, the version game is 122.38a not 121.38a
@@Eljuador526 Player 122 was the player who got into the vessel of mario
@@Eljuador526I was not talking about the game version
@@FluppietheRockruffFanok
Just realized the Mario player isn’t dead by this point, ep 5 confirms this
I mean, the person digitized into Mario's body could've very easily been killed by Buggy's last attack, with some other poor Schaub picking up where the left off, especially with how Buggy freaks out like he killed him at the end.
@@lolrus5555good point, mario also appeared angry in ep 5, but that could just simply be the character and not the person themselves
I also noticed buggy said they’re not player 122
Ngl this would be a jarring but fun sequence if it were an actual game, I love Mario horror games that have actual gameplay cus it shows that the entity inside wants to have fun instead of the “walk right” formula
