Miami FL is the home of the Bass!! We used a plywood cut it out 4 12 inch woofers and back in the day we were bumping Black windows peavy band speakers we didn't have no kickers punch none of that and the bass sounds more hard and clear!!!
Years ago I had an '02 Dodge Intrepid with a single 12" Kicker L7 on a Cadence 800 watt amp. The box was 3 cu ft net ported at 38hz. Sounded ok, but rattled like hell. I was reading some information on a home audio forum, and they were talking about the space needed between the floor and the bottom of the enclosure for ported downfiring subs. They said that the opening to let all the sound out had to equal the surface area of the subwoofer and the port. So, I knew that just deleting the rear deck speakers wouldn't be enough. I took out the top half of the backseat in my Intrepid. The sub box took up a lot of that open space, but I still had more than equal to the sub and port. I couldn't believe the difference. It was like adding another 12. It just slammed.
I will add that my sub and the port were facing backwards, not firing into the cabin. There was maybe 10 inches of space. I believe this also helped the sound load off of something and travel back into the cabin.

Cut out back deck foam the trunk lid & dynamat take the trunk rods off to make it heavy trust me it works
Yeah I have a Q70 Infiniti with a ski hatch and my bass is still muffled. Can I go with a box that ports through the ski hatch?
Great advice I’m needing some pointers on my build I have a 63 impala I’m currently running 2 10” Alpine Type Rs and a skar1200 @ 1 ohm it’s not hitting how I would like for it to I’m using a prefab box ported any suggestions on what I should do to get better sound
so what are we doing in these bubbles? 4th ported through the rear deck?
This is a black man with muscles I think he knows what he is talking about
😂
MBE FTW 💪🏾
i think the best way to do it is to cut the rear deck and have the woofers fire off the glass
Wow that’s great stuff 🫡
MBE we also vent the rear deck
350lbs of sound deading, no rattles. If I want sp I just fold down the seat but I do more sq. Yes it's a ported box in a sealed box, a 3rd order bandpass. As good as a hatch? No but moving my hair with sp, yes.
Some people port the rear deck
I have an 8 inch hole there that was the stock sub that i pulled out.
I have done too many trunk installs at the end of the day trust me just get a hatchback. Takes a lot of fabrication to make a trunk system right. Hatchback is king!
Quick question. I put 6x9s in my 97 accord. Now they have too much bass. I turned all the bass down. Well tried too. Now they distort when i turn my subs up. How do i combat that. Go back to 6.5s .
Folded seats help alot when them seats drop it can get ugly
I put aero ports from back deck lid threw the trunk haha
All the 90s dudes never got the memo
what if I fold my seats down and face my box towards the cabin? what would this do
Should I cut the sheet metal that runs vertical for the armrest in my 95 Impala to let more bass into the cabin?
someone was saying they cut a hole where the arm rest is at
Damn. I'm screwed then. I have a 94 Impala SS. Low miles. I don't want to do anything where I have to cut into the back seat or rear deck to severely reduce trunk rattle. I want subs in the trunk and minimal trunk rattle. If I would have to cut into the back seat or rear deck in order to achieve this, I will opt with no subs. DAMN IT!
Luckily a lot of the 2000 vehicles. The rear seats fold down.
But I do understand that rattle. And it is annoying as hell to hear it from the outside.🤣😂🤣
Miami Guy in Vegas, I stamp that
i always get th sawzaw out lol but i have 3 wolfram 12s 2000 rms a piece on a 12k in a 03 buick lasaber my friend has 3 15s re audio on a toro 6k in a wall in a honda accord we went to a db show we both hit the same number on the meter but ya next build going to be a hatch or a truck
I had a 80 LaSabre that I loosen the seat and had hole ports. With that big azz trunck it bassed big time. I use to call that my music box. And that was way before I started using sound deadening, it sounded almost as good as an suv.
Real players remove the back seat.
Always remove...2 seater..lol
