Thanks for this video.. was very informative and helpful.. I'll definately try this food for my discus. For how many days we can store this food in freezer
My discus are blue ,hence I use spirulina to bring out the blue color. I highly recommend using them, These Spirulina capsule can be found easily in any medicine shop or even available online(amazon, ebay). If u r keeping red discus then try shrimp or Salmon for best coloration.
great video as always, i would prefer to use sea as a source of my fish as it helps with cross contamination with fresh water parasites, especially given the way tilapia is farm raised now
While choosing sea fishes just ensure to choose the one with less fat. Most of the sea fishes r tasty n contains good amount of fat. Choosing sea sources is a good idea as well. Tilapia fillet are lean and amount of fat is v less in compare to other fishes. In US/Canada tilapia fillet are disinfected by freezing & using liquid Nitrogen. So, they can b used.
Amazing video..i particulary like your scientific approach for the ingredients selection. Pls suggest recipe for Red variants of discus as well.. thanks lot
Thanks 👍🏻 . For red variant instead of tilapia u can have shrimp .. they r high in astaxanthin which will bring up the red. But, b careful on shrimp. Many of them are kept in preservatives which can kill discus. Always choose best quality shrimps . I suggest the frozen packaged ones .
@@atulatulatul1 both will work. But, again in many case shrimps r dipped in chemical substance to preserve before they sell out. Those substance can wipe out ur discus colony. So b careful.
There's no brand dependency.. Spirulina contains significant amounts of calcium, niacin, potassium, magnesium, B vitamins and iron. It also has essential amino acids (compounds that are the building blocks of proteins).. this should remain same with all spirulina

nice video, can we use prawns instead of tilapia
Prawn is good option,,,,, but don’t replace tilapia completely with prawn.. some time they may not like the texture of prawn ..but mix is always good
Very helpful information. I personally feel protein in form of fish is better than beef or goat for Discus
Thanks GautamDa :) :) ur response do meant a lot :) :)
Can you use mussel with it ? Many breeders using them a lot.

@@aquahobby1982 should you boil the egg or use raw?
@@Bigpoecilia egg white definitely needs to b raw. It works as binder. Boiling will spoil the white.

can I cooked the green peas ???
I'll suggest not required. I added them raw. Boiling /cooking them might result in loosing vitamins & nutrients.
Why u using garlic guard? Is this nessesary??
Not necessary.... i add to entice them to eat well
what vitamin additives are in your spirulina? Vit A, Vit B? is one brand name better than the other
