Do moss roses come back every year?
Although it comes back year after year, rose moss is actually an annual. This plant produces a large number of seeds each year in pods that readily break open when dry. ... In fact, it is not uncommon to find rose moss plants outside of their normal area for this reason.
Do moss roses need full sun?
Light. The moss rose is a native plant in hot, dry areas of Brazil and other South American countries. It needs a location that gets full sun for most of the day to grow well and produce its best floral display, although a few hours of light shade during hot summer afternoons won't interfere with its performance
Do moss roses need a lot of water?
Moss Rose plants are drought and heat tolerant. In the flower garden, watering is seldom needed. If growing in containers or hanging pots, allow the soil to dry between watering. ... Provide plenty of air circulation through the plant to help avoid fungal disease.
Why are my moss roses dying?
Drainage: Moss roses prefer poor, dry, well-drained soil. If portulaca won't bloom, it may be because the soil is too rich or too soggy. ... Sunlight: Moss roses thrive in intense heat and punishing sunlight. Too much shade may be to blame when there are no flowers on moss rose
Can you grow moss rose in pots?
Growing moss rose in a container can be easily accomplished with some soil, seeds, and a container. The moss rose is a drought-resistant plant that does not require a lot of water to grow. In fact, when growing moss rose, you should resist the urge to put too much water in the planting container.
    Do moss roses reseed themselves?
Portulaca Moss Rose plants often reseed themselves, coming back the next growing season with the same vivid color and beauty. ... Moss Rose ground cover plants tolerate heat and drought, but they do look best with occasional watering.

I got a pack of 2,000 seeds on Amazon, filled a fountain with potting seeds, sprinkled them on both tiers and 1 1/2 days later have small seedlings. I'm using a spray bottle to water them.

We call them portulaca and it was my very first seedlings I planted and had an awesome display of gorgeous colours during our hot summer 🌺. Eltham Victoria Australia 🇦🇺. This year I had a lovely display in a large pot with bulbs popping up in between for spring colour. They will all repeat next year how very generous are these gorgeous colourful babies. Thank you for sharing.
There are great videos of plants and trees grown 1 hour north of the City of Melbourne Victoria it is called Horti-Culturalists Stephen and Matthew are the hosts. Again thank you.

I always bought them in Italy, they thrived on a very sunny terrace, the best thing is that they have new flowers every day, the insects love them! This year I'm trying to grow them from seeds in Poland, hoping for some sun on of these days ;) I've been wondering how densely they should be planted once they've become a bit bigger seedlings - your video helped me, thanks a lot!

Try to space plants about 6 to 12 inches apart so they aren't overcrowded. Overcrowded plants won't flower as well. Moss rose have shallow root systems, so keep plants well watered the first few weeks until established. Once established, they are drought tolerant. good luck, they are so pretty when they get to blooming..

Your video was so interesting to watch. I'm planting these seeds for the first time this year. Something I didn't see you mention was how you water them after they sprout. They are like fine little hairs. Do you water them from the bottom? I loved how the plater looked when you planted them with the salvia, even before either of them bloomed!

    Hello there,
I'm having trouble with mealybugs and everywhere I look they say to apply sope, shampoo ou detergent solutions of sorts. I've tried it but it seems to be damaging the plant more than actually helping it... do you know another way or have any tips to help me? I'd appreciate it

      @dianemummvideos  3 роки тому

I know some plants seem more sensitive.. I have picked them off as well.. they are a real pain for sure..
you can try this as well
      MEALYBUGS TREATMENT
Dip cotton balls and swabs in alcohol and remove all visible mealybugs. ...
Mix 1 cup of rubbing alcohol with few drops of Dawn dish soap and 1 quart (32oz) of water. ...
Spray the whole plant, not only where mealybugs are visible. ...
Repeat the treatment once or twice a week until the issue is gone.
