Someone who says "I think I did," about a crime means he isn't in the right place mentally. This isn't a confession of a man who is all there. There is no certainty.
He was reading a bible and accepting Christ into his life. So he's sane enough to do that, but not sane enough to admit what he did? If this confession was the only evidence, you might have a point, but when you put everything else together, this idiot is 100% guilty.
I don’t know - someone who gives reasons for why he did things seems realistic to me - he got scared and made them cross the creek, he meant to assault them but got worried, he thought they looked older than they were - why add those details into his confession?

My son, who has autism, was given Haldol because he was hurting himself, which became a safety concern. In situations like this, Haldol is sometimes used to prevent self-injury. It’s fairly common to use it for safety. They aren’t in the right frame of mind to volunteer to get this medication….
And how long was he held in solitary confinement with sleep deprivation and constant psychotropic drugs with a deranged psychologist feeding him information before he started these false confessions?

So the judge seems biased as well. Why wouldnt she allow the calls where he is saying he is loosing his mind and is innocent, but is allowing the calls where is is saying he is guilty....all from the same day????
You'd think there would be a law about context... Wait there is. Judge gull is the most corrupt most vile individual besides those thst actually did this to abby and libby.

I find I interesting that no one's mentioning the prison guards with Odin patches on their uniforms telling Richard if he didn't confess his wife and daughter would be killed
He was sent a Bible, read it, and told the truth of what he did. I'm not overly religious, but I know that in order to accept Christ into your life, you have to repent for your sins. He's trying to tell them what he did, and they won't accept the answer. Kinda like all these dumb people in the comments, ignoring all the other evidence, and still claiming he's innocent. Maybe odinism can go in there and save him next 🙄
But you are ignoring all the times he said he was innocent. You are also ignoring that they have ZERO evidence he did anything criminal. Wait for the defence's case.
@@Beyatchenator you’re ignoring the mountains of evidence, his 61 confessions, and the fact that his confessions included information that no one but the killer and the victims would know. There’s no room for reasonable doubt anymore. That’s gone out the window.
I truly believe Allen is trying to somehow accept his reality by false confession. They’ve pushed him so far that he’s literally lost his mind and who is as a person anymore. They’ve broken him psychologically. He doesn’t know what’s going on with all the games they’re playing and drugs they’re giving him. If he truly is innocent then Allen has just become the third victim in this horrible case.
I could argue that his confessions to his family are JUST AS compelling as his statements of denial during his interrogations! This entire thing is…😵💫!!! I don’t know WHAT to think, or believe.
No dna found at the scene and the defense wasn’t allowed to play audio where he said he didn’t do this. When he was in his right mind during his original interview he stated he didn’t do it and that was way more convincing than the jail recordings.

@2manyjules blue jeans and a blue or black jacket. I've lived in Indiana for decades, and almost every man I know owns those articles of clothing. As my comment wasn't about if Richard Allen was or was not the assailant, it is about the states provable evidence, and whether they can secure a conviction? As it stands currently, I say "No." That's even before the defense has had their side of the case heard .. @@popeye3305 the Black or blue jacket Was only stated by him 5 years after the crime ... in 2017 he said blue jacket. And not every man in Indiana placed himself there that day in the timeframe the crime was commited and changed his account five years lster
@2manyjules You don't seem to understand that it has to be proven beyond reasonable doubt that he committed the crime, not the fact that he was there in a public park, he admitted that seven years ago. The case isn't about him being at the park. I'm not saying it was or wasn't him. I'm saying you need to have enough evidence to convince the jury "without a doubt" he committed the crime. All state witnesses failed to even identify him according to their testimony. All that leaves is a live cartridge and his confessions made under duress and while being administered a double dose of Haldol, a mind altering drug against his will. Yeah, good luck with that..
I think jury will find him not guilty. Now, is he actually not guilty? Idk but the state screwed up their whole case by keeping that man in solitary for 13 months. His confessions could be two things: true, or a result of going nuts in that cell. And as they say on this channel all the time when faced with two possibilities, the jury is instructed to go with the one that presumes innocence. This case is far too weak to actually charge this man, even if he is in fact guilty of the murders. This is so sad for the families of Abby and Libby who may not see justice because if the totally bungled investigation and choices of the state leading up to trial. 😢

@autumnishotterthansummer no way of being torn apart if I know I didn't do it. Someone that's completely innocent can't be tied to a crime in any way. Just wait until you find out that the prosecution's key witness, Mr. Weber, the guy driving the "white van" lied about his timeline and was actually considered a prime suspect by the FBI before the locals told the FBI to scram. His ,40 caliber handgun was tested and not even ruled out by forensic testing. Next week when the defense starts their part of the hearing, is going to be a doozy..
Clearly he knows that he committed the crime. So the correct action is to plead guilty. But like most guilty people, they just want to play the system as long as they can get away with it.

I’m glad the public got to see the transcripts. I know that there are wives of men who have done terrible things who were in denial when they found out. It’s a pretty typical and even psychologically normal reaction, when learning shocking things about a loved one. I’ve worked in county victim services, and I’ve seen this, myself, as a child and youth victim advocate. Some mothers can’t believe their husband did something to harm a child…even though they know, deep down, that he probably did. However, in this particular case, this seems like a woman who truly doesn’t believe her husband committed the crime and has some basis for the beliefs. I’m not a psychiatrist. I’m a candidate for a Master’s in psychology, focusing on trauma effects on the brain, and associated disorders. The wife’s response, in the transcript, is not what I’ve typically seen from a secondary victim in denial (or a defensive co-conspirator, because there are people who really want to go there). At the very least, I think it’s Allen’s wife’s true conviction that her husband didn’t commit the crime, in those phone calls. I didn’t feel good about this man being in prison and what is going on in there, after hearing it. I am not sure if people in solitary are permitted personal property, other than a bible. I know that certain convicted prisoners (for example, Christopher Watts) are, often, limited to a bible. This could have something to do with his sudden interest in religion, that he had been in a sensory deprived environment. It’s typical, in a prison environment, and I don’t believe it means he was led to confess by some higher call. He could very well have been influenced by the repeated accusations, the exposure to the discovery and other information from his defense attorney, psychologist, inmates, investigators. and/or correctional officers. Not to mention all the information presented in court, which has been heavily focused on the events of the crime, until the last couple days.
He had a tablet, was offered a television,he was calling family members and saw his psychologist daily. He was under suicide watch because he threatened to physically harm himself.
The psychologist was a true crime aficionado and continued to participate in same AFTER taking the case and told him things from those groups. Her entire testimony is suspect given this unprofessional behavior. She is inserting herself into this drama.
Yep. You can Google her and read about multiple complaints she has been named in. The IPAS settlement will also give more information about the inhumane practices in IDOC. These people seem to never learn.
Yep, Wala knew all about this case before, during & after and probably knew about the 'van'. I personally think she wrote it on the confession letter about the 'van'. If also there was 24/7 surveillance on RA, where is the Video Footage?
She seems to be in complete denial in the confession calls. "No you didnt, no no you didnt" he is literally seen and heard on video and is definitely BG.
yeah his wife is a mess imo. while I feel for any person who finds out that a loved one might be a killer, she has basically ran cover for him. don't trust her either

What came out is that she is a true crime follower and watched some of the podcasts and coverage of this case. It should not be surprising because she is a prison psychologist. There is NO evidence that she ever forwarded information about him to anyone. People do have a life.
We cannot allow a government with no physical evidence against a defendant to lock him up in solitary confinement for a year and then use his psychotic statements against him. Even if he did it (he probably didn't), we can't let the system to work like this. Katie Jackson-Lindsey is completely on point. We don't do it this way.
Jlr investigates claimed he was in solitary for two years. No idea how to confirm this but if true it seems this isn't abnormal. Sometimes done for their protection, especially if they think the other inmates will abuse you.
@@speaklifegardenhomesteadpe8783 look up the IPAS settlement. It's not normal. Lawyers are saying he may a decent civil case against the state whether he is convicted or not.
With the way the media had reported on this leading up to trial and the fact that the suspect was immediately shipped to prison, not jail, I was under the heavy assumption that he must be guilty. Now we come to find out that an individual with a history of mental illness was thrown into solitary confinement for 13 months when the max allowed is 30 days? Then after a month of being in prison amongst the worst of the CONVICTED criminals, with a 24 hour surveillance and suicide buddies, he begins to act bizarre and makes all sorts of confessions. This only coming after he had been given access to evidentiary discovery. Not to mention the so called doctor who apparently heard most of said confessions, turned out to be a true crime fan who was heavily involved with the online discussions of the Delphi murders. I’m sorry, I’m not buying it.
I was thinking the same thing. Totally convinced he did it just by hearing it being reported, “ he confessed, his bullet at the scene, blah blah blah”. But now in the trial hearing the specifics, it doesn’t seem as 100% as the media made it out to be. He ate his own feces! That’s a special kind of crazy IMO.
Yep. He’s saying he did it because he wants to live the rest of his life like the last 2 years. No way I’m ever confessing if I didn’t do it. Him having the white van details is what will be the deciding factor. Especially with it matching the guy saying that’s the time he gets home from work
Everyone says that until they are put in that spot and are abused and manipulated and sleep deprived. Sooooooooooo many innocent people confess to crimes just to get out of the hell they are currently in brought on by abusive police and detectives. It really happens a lot more than you think. And people who suffer from mental illness are more easy to emotionally manipulate.
There is nothing that puts him at scene. No phone data, DNA, nothing. Witnesses who saw a man on the trail all have different descriptions. None of them have actually identified Allen as “bridge guy”.
I'm fascinated by these two for reasons completely unrelated to the subject matter. I love how real they are, how against the corporate grain it feels. I love all those notes they've got scattered over their table top and the genuine commitment to the story being the main point. I'm so over the stuffed (and very expensive) suits of corporate news, pretending to adore each other when really they're all competing for screen time. I came here by accident, but I'm staying because these two really are doing the most thorough work on this trial. ❤🔥
Most do not want to admit the truth to themselves. Think about killers with families, they deny it, then find out it is true and are seen as freaks by the public. No more reputation.
Why did the do voice analysis comparison?? They have recordings RA’s voice and they have recordings of BG’s voice. Why not scientifically compare them?? Maybe cuz they had a feeling they wouldn’t match??
yes and trying to play the insanity card to get off and remember he said he watches crime shows and knows and is making a case for doubt..he is guilty. only way a bullet from his gun could have been between the girls' feet. that is hard evidence not a coincidence
It’s ridiculous that witnesses can’t be heard. Why aren’t the miked? I saw on another channel comments that the judge was instructing witnesses NOT to talk in the mike. When have you ever seen this is trial history?? Witnesses should be heard. I saw a response on that comment that it’s only for the court reporter to hear. That’s ridiculous. Witnesses are for the jury (and court reporter) and everyone in that courtroom to hear. This judge does the most peculiar things I wonder if she’s trying to get RA a retrial if he’s guilty. Whatever her motive, she’s a terrible judge.
The wife has been an enabler, she knew he did it from day one. I would be able to recognize my husband and what he was wearing. She should be charged also! This absolutely disgusts me.
No she knows what months of solitary and drugs were doing to his brain. She said to him he was losing his mind and he said 'i think i did it'... hallucinating. He's not sure even. Then said he was innocent and going crazy the same day. So his mind was cracked at that point. His early confessions he was adamantly and confidently innocent.
@@DabbaHashery he started confessing a few short months after being incarcerated, people spend years on death row and don’t confess. Your argument doesn’t hold value in the real world, maybe a world of sunshine and marshmallows! His gun was there, he was there and wearing exactly what the bridge guy was wearing! That’s enough! He has done all he can to change his looks from the bridge guy. He is playing you and everyone else.
@carolreardon528 no he said he may have worn that. It was never definite. The bullet was never fired and therefore can't with certainty say that extremely common bullet came from his gun. Also research what just a few weeks in solitary does to the human mind all while he's being accused of heinous stuff thinks he lost his support network bc they believe that. His mind cracked. There isn't enough conclusive evidence for a sensible person not to have doubt. The state failed at this case by throwing his in solitary without enough proof he was the right person. And regardless it won't be justice for the family bc how this was handled will certainly lead to many years of appeals. It only takes 1 person on that jury to have a similar opinion.. These case is weak and there may still be a murderer on the loose.
@ funny how he started acting strange after meeting with his attorneys! Ted Bundy and Scott Peterson tried some of the same tactics, guess they were innocent also!
His confession of “I was gonna rape the girls but I saw a van and got scared so I took them down the hill and killed them” doesn’t sit right with me. UNLESS he’s done this before… because assuming this was a one-off/first time thing, the whole plan just doesn’t fit an offenders first occurrence. Two victims, broad daylight, and an unseasonably warm day (lots of potential witnesses) and if he got spooked BEFORE doing anything incriminating, he could just flee at that point. Makes zero sense to kill them. Just my 2 cents. Idk if he’s guilty or not yet.
I think he is a moron who did exactly as he said--he panicked and killed them. He is a pedo who told his wife he fantasized about his own daughter. The girls already had him on video and knew who he was. He was not letting them go. He even left his unspent bullet at the scene. Think about how they solved crime without DNA. Bundy, Kemp, Manson-there was no DNA. But they did it. I would look at his google and movie searches before the murder. He did it.
If the judge sustained the defense’s motion to have that last video ruled as inadmissible, then the judge should have instructed the jury that they could not take into their deliberations what was on the video (supposedly RA threatening the guards and getting angry). This judge is biased and has utterly failed in all her duties as judge. If RA is convicted (which IMO there is just too much reasonable doubt), he’ll probably get a retrial based on the poor judgment of this judge.
The judge is extremely biased in this case. If the state can play recordings of him confessing they should have to make all the recordings available, including the ones where he says he’s innocent and not in good mental health. You can’t just cherry pick the ones that help the state.
@@demaaarrr most definitely a judge, I can confirm that this is most definitely an armchair judge. And you have alot of armchair lawyers here to. These ppl know everything 🤣.
Her argument that the Prosecution only had a person who listened to audio tapes of RA and not actually heard him in person is dumb! He would be best simply because a voice sounds different in person versus audio tape. And he was comparing Apples to Apples - RA voice ON TAPE to BRIDGE GUY'S voice ON TAPE. He is actually BETTER qualified to judge. Comparing his voice in person to BG voice b on tape is APPLES to Oranges. Duh!
I think we need to also consider that he has been in jail for 2 years. During this time, he received psychological treatment and most likely antidepressant, antianxiety and potentially antipsychotics all can cause your affect and ability to be resilient against manipulation. Can we get a psychiatrist opinion?
He was on Haldol, an antipsychotic from the “old class” of antipsychotics known for it ineffectiveness (compared to the newer antipsychotics) and for its brutal side effects.
It's shocking that there are people still defending this monster. There is no reasonable doubt. He's the killer. In his confessions, he's trying to break it to his wife that he's guilty and she just will not let him do it! They both know the call is recorded. He's in prison, alone with his bible thinking about what he did and he's ready to come clean! She knows he's guilty! You can't tell me that woman doesn't recognize her husband on that bridge and in that audio! I pray the jury has half a brain because that is all you need to find him guilty with all the evidence against him!
@@corsmalls Its not that people think he is innocent. Its that LE screwed up this case from day 1, and due to those screw ups, people feel troubled wondering if RA is getting a fair trial. It makes it hard to really feel trust in his confessions. If this case is solved, it's because RA solved it. Not because the police or the state did a great job. They still wouldn't have a case If RA never gave that tip.

With the way the media had reported on this leading up to trial and the fact that the suspect was immediately shipped to prison, not jail, I was under the heavy assumption that he must be guilty.
@carolreardon528 he also confessed to killing his non existent grandchildren. We trying him for that? It's flimsy at best
@ precisely.
He did it.
I pray they got the right person
If the judge sustained the defense’s motion to have that last video ruled as inadmissible, then the judge should have instructed the jury that they could not take into their deliberations what was on the video (supposedly RA threatening the guards and getting angry). This judge is biased and has utterly failed in all her duties as judge. If RA is convicted (which IMO there is just too much reasonable doubt), he’ll probably get a retrial based on the poor judgment of this judge.
Great Reporters!
Wow. Richard Allen is the guy . No doubt 💯
You can tell in the video that it is RA. Even though the video isn’t clear you can tell that is his nose.
I believe RA 100% committed these murders…however, I’m terrified he’s going to get off. The states case makes me nervous.
I genuinely cannot understand how anyone can be 100% confident he committed these crimes
@@saratucker1519 He’s on video. He’s 100% guilty
The judge is extremely biased in this case. If the state can play recordings of him confessing they should have to make all the recordings available, including the ones where he says he’s innocent and not in good mental health. You can’t just cherry pick the ones that help the state.
There's 700 recordings!
Are you a judge ?
They played his interview where he denied the crime 20+ times - I think the jury has gotten to see both his confessions and his denials
Exactly. It’s shamefully biased.
Duh!
I tend to agree with you.
Cruel and unusual punishment for this man to break him down and force a false confession.
excellent coverage
It's shocking that there are people still defending this monster. There is no reasonable doubt. He's the killer. In his confessions, he's trying to break it to his wife that he's guilty and she just will not let him do it! They both know the call is recorded. He's in prison, alone with his bible thinking about what he did and he's ready to come clean! She knows he's guilty! You can't tell me that woman doesn't recognize her husband on that bridge and in that audio! I pray the jury has half a brain because that is all you need to find him guilty with all the evidence against him!
I agree! im baffled anyone could think this man is innocent.
@@GrumpyKay - Fair trial is irrelevant since he's guilty.
