Mohnish, like you I sold my business and began pursuing full time value investing 4 years ago. WB, you and just a handful of others have really helped shape my thinking and investment success. You're a true joy to watch and learn from. Thank you sir.
Absolute Gold. I learned soooo much form this video and I'm not even half way done. Beautifully explains, refinery business, container ship business, mining business just to name a few. BTW, I am a musician in Los Angeles, if you ever want tickets to the LA Phil let me know. =)
Best video of mohnish ,the gem out of his all of his interviews where he is asked the same generic questions everytime although I love listening to him
Something to add to Crisil discussion by Mohnish. He said moody did well in the long term inspite of the 08 Fin crisis. So rating agencies are great businesses. 100% agree. But applying the same logic to country like India has backfired. Mohnish invested in a co. called CARE LTD. (Similar to crisil) and it got involved in some shady shit (search ILFS case) due to which stock fell of the cliff. Conclusion- Moody lobbied the US govt in 08 and got out but capital mkt authorities in India are very cold hearted and strict (named as SEBI and SFIO) due to which stock suffered a lot
Goodwin Plc (LSE:GDWN) (UK stock market) today looks similar to those shipping/oil and gas driven companies Mohnish was reflecting on, does anyone have a take on this company or others similar would be great to hear some thoughts and opinions?
im sure you have to be wired a certain way to invest successfully. maybe even wired incorrectly i think. Though Warren Buffett is definitely The Columbo of investing. He always comes over all normal but we all know hes crazy sharp with investing...
I love this but where does Mohnish get this information on these businesses. I can’t seem to find much info on businesses. How did he know that that real estate of the business was worth more than the market cap. Where do u find this???
Read the Intelligent investor from Benjamin Graham, Read the Dhando Investor from Mohnish Pabrai, Read the Margin of Safety from Seth klarman to name the best of the best.
Mr. Pabrai, you need to reduce the frequency where you're saying "if you will...", it can get annoying to keep hearing this repeated expression in this video. Great teaching nonetheless, and I learned a lot from it.
"100 baggers are really good for your health" - best quote ever.

I come from future. Stock tip at 56:00 tripled. Another missed opportunity, back to wage slavery.
