Thank you guys for bringing more awareness to apraxia. Honestly just heartbreaking to receive and accept. My soon to be 6 year-old son was diagnosed with apraxia when he was 3 years- old as well at Vanderbilt's Developmental Clinic in Nashville. After much research I suspected, but who wants to believe that there's something wrong with their kid. His only speech was " uh uh uh" to everything. No words, letter sounds, nothing. It's been a tough journey to say the least for my husband and I. Alot of tears on my end as a mom, but it has pushed me in ways I didn't think I could be pushed when it comes to our son. Just to give a glimpse of hope, our son is talking. Still a ways to go but he can read, say words, and finally my family can understand some of what he's saying with not having to ask me. I also give him Nordic Naturals omega 3 oil. Repetition is key with apraxia as you will soon see. It's almost like having to program their mind to understand letter sounds and how to use correct lip, tongue, and jaw function to produce words. We should chat mom to mom lol. I would love to share what I've learned and done thus far in trying to put our son in the best possible situation to succeed. I tell God all the time that I know this isn't too big for Him. Again would love to share our continous journey with you guys on having a kid with apraxia. Be Blessed guys..
It’s always great to find someone you can relate to that truly understands what you are going through. When he was first diagnosed I had many nights where I would cry myself to sleep just worried about his future. However, now that he has been in therapy for almost a year, he is improving so much! He too has a long way to go but I agree God wouldn’t give him or I more than we can handle. I will definitely look into the omega oil. Thank you so much ❤️
Thank you both for spreading awareness to CAS. My daughter is 3 and she had several episodes speech regression. Currently she only can say mama. We currently don’t have a diagnosis and I am just searching for answers.
Never heard of this before, but happy you are both sharing and this could help some parents dealing with the same issue and also like you said, getting a head of it so he gets the extra help so it won’t effect him later in life
Thank you for sharing. My son is 2 and I believe he has apraxia of speech. It’s hard to get a diagnosis because the condition is so rare. He sees 2 different speech pathologist regularly who both think it’s a possibility. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Thanks again for sharing.
Stay strong in prayer, God has all the answers. Thanks so much for sharing your story. I am sure you are helping many as I had never heard of this. Go's bless you and yours.

Thank you so much for sharing this. My son was just diagnosed and this gives me so much hope. Wish I could give you all a big hug. My fears are very similar to yours about children being mean. It's terrifying.
Thank you for your vulnerability in order to help others. Our daughters speech therapist has just brought this up to us. It has been emotional and has felt confusing with the limited information available. We will be following your journey and keeping you in our prayers as well.
You will definitely go through a lot of different emotions at the beginning but it gets better I promise. I agree I cried so much at the beginning because of the unknown. There is not a lot of information out there to prepare you for what’s to come. My baby attends speech twice a week for 30 mins and he has improved so much. Your daughter is in my prayers and I know she will achieve anything she puts her mind to! Apraxia parents ❤️
This is my first time hearing of apraxia so thank you for educating us! I’m sure getting that news was scary but I’ve heard so many people’s testimonies about God doing the impossible for them. He’s come through for me multiple times as well he is a way maker and I believe that y’all will get through this and have a testimony about it when you do.
This 2020 is really heavy😢.but so glad you guys share this topic.a friend of mine put her daughter to a special school , now shes almost 5 and it gets really more exciting for words she says🌸.i agree with you husband he will still be living life amazingly! And you guys are amazing parent! I absorb faith and educated from you guys💕..ah girl I believe in faith ,🤛🏼🌸💋💕
Thank You for these videos...I am currently working with my son who has been diagnosed with CAS...this is new to us as a family...its a struggle because I also worked in education. My worries are aboutbhjs future with children but mainly adults who do not understand his disorder. I am learning and trying my Hardest to help him
I definitely understand what you are going. I also work in education and we know first hand the battles they will have to conquer. Our son’s will be great! They have an extra super power that makes them so special. ❤️
I'm so glad I found this video! My daughter is also 2 and has been in speech therapy for about a year. Her SLP just brought up the concern of apraxia so that's the direction we're heading with her therapy sessions. As of now, she goes once a week. She can say a few words/phrases. They're not clear but it's enough that I can understand. The majority of her speech is still jibberish though.
So there’s an actual evaluation process for apraxia? I thought it would be something that would be diagnosed over time as we work with our SLP. You guys are wonderful parents!
How is your son doing? My daughter may have apraxia and it’s been very emotionally difficult for me to cope with. I know it’s about her and helping her succeed and not me but as a mama it’s just so difficult.
Thank you so much! I know it’s hard because all we want to do is protect our babies from everything. It hurts soooo bad when we feel like we can’t help them. I want you to know that it does get better and our babies are perfect just the way they are now! My son is improving so much with speech therapy. He goes twice a week for 30 mins. How old is your daughter?
@@Aquemini so glad he’s thriving! She is about to be 2. She has about 30 words but there some signs of motor planning issues. Obviously she’s still young so who knows but her SLP is going to start treating it as motor planning issues. It’s hard to know because she doesn’t mimick much yet
I’m not sure but that was a concern of mines at first. However, we got him tested for Autism and he was not diagnosed with Autism. You should get your baby tested.
Thanks for putting out this video, I never heard of it. I might get the baby tested, because I notice that he has some difficulty saying a lot of words.
Ashley Paige It maybe something to look into. My next video I’m going to have DJ saying words using flash cards. Maybe you can see if they sound similar. For DJ some words come out clear but he has a lot of words that are unclear.

Thank you so much ❤️. Yes our son was evaluated for Apraxia. His SLP at that time was the one who suggested that we get him evaluated.

It’s always good to catch it early! You are doing a great job mom.
Can this be related to autism? My child is 2 and non verbal but also show signs of autism.
I’m not sure but that was a concern of mines at first. However, we got him tested for Autism and he was not diagnosed with Autism. You should get your baby tested.
