I found this video and decided to subscribe to her because of how amazing her singing is. Get to know her thank to her song in Paripi Kongming [Song name: Be Crazy For Me]
Would never have known about her without Paripi Koumei, which is a shame. She's great. Instant fan. Also you did not have to go so hard with the subtitles. But you did, and I appreciate that haha. Takes me back to the days of fansubs.
I agree with op here. As a long time fan of 96neko, I'm happy to see any of her utaite clips and knowing she's a vtuber and friend with oujo is just like a pure treasure. I too wish there are more subbed clips of kuroneko.
SHES A VTUBER NOW???????? THATS SO COOL. I WAS A FAN OF HER WHEN SHE STARTED VOCALOID COVERS.. NOW IM INTO VTUBERS AND I FIND OUT SHES A VTUBER TOO IM🤯

Her voice reminds me of Okayu and Ange. I found her because of Heaven design team opening and now I discovered she is a Vtuber. Funny how it leads me back to Vtubers.

Hi, I was the TL for this video. Thanks for bringing up this point. It is quite possible I was incorrect here, but I'd like to share my thought process for how I decided on this line because the same thought crossed my mind when working on this video: We see many instances of her interrupting the song to address things in-game, like when she wants to pick up the shield battery a teammate pinged her about. She also deviates from the lyrics when she found a gun, and a room full of items she wanted. So considering she was walking up a steep hill it was hard to call whether she was talking about the note of the song or the hill in game. I considered the former, but in the end I went with her referring to the hill. The only comments we see about the song up to that point is that she doesn't remember some of the lyrics, but never about its composition. The munya part with a high note at the end sounded like it peaked at about the same note to the one she stammered at going up the hill, at least when I looked at the the original song (Though I'm not a musician). So I thought, why would she suddenly be surprised at the pitch of that note?
@@Shizu_Kare I don't think there's a definitive answer here but for me it seems more odd that she'd comment on the height of the hill specifically. On the other hand she does seem to have been having trouble with the last note before making that remark.
@@anonymous38741 Hmm, interesting. I do agree that with something like this the answer isn't definitive. What I wouldn't give for a potion that lets me read vtuber's minds lol.
I find it quite sad that people are acknowledging Utaites or vocaloid creators only because of Vtubers. They've been a part of jpop in general for so many years and people only start to know them after all this time. It's not any Vtubers fault but just fan who have been sleeping on utaite and Vocaloid. It's good that people are starting to discover them but i wish they don't see a vocaloid creation as "another song for Vtubers to cover"
I think just about anyone that branched out beyond vocaloid and explored the utaite scene back in the day knows who 96neko is. Why would anyone else know who they are? You either go commercial and mainstream like Reol did or find other ways to reach new audiences. With vtubing sort of supplanting vocaloid as the new fad, it's a good way to reach an adjacent audience. I don't think there's anything sad or surprising about that. Vocaloid was just as much a popular vehicle for utaites to gain recognition as vtubing is now. The only thing that's changed is the current trend.
As another old fan I'm actually ecstatic about this changing. I remember when things first started up, pretty much anyone with enough money to buy a mic would sing and upload covers. The amount of variety and skill level was incredible. Then by around 2017, 2018 or so I noticed only 15 or so active utaite were left. Everyone else got older and moved on, or went pro and signed onto labels. Yonezu-san released Sand Planet as an observation and a wish for the vocaloid community to revive the prominence it once had too. With Vtubers, it's taken on a new name but it seems like it's pretty close to adjacent to utaite in activity. I haven't seen this much interest in the Vocaloid community in years. I think while we are at risk of running into the same problem as previously where producers get overshadowed, it's much less now than it was ten years ago. King is credited properly and prominently to Kanaria now, where years ago that song might have been simply attributed to Gumi. I'm really enjoying the influx of new fans.
I'll admit that I started watching more of this type of content because of Vtubers, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing? It's not so much "sleeping on them", but rather not even KNOWING they exist to begin with. I've always been more involved in the Kpop circles, so all of my feed would be Kpop-centric. It was only until a UA-camr that does Kpop edits clipped... I think it was Kuzuha? Singing Pristin? That I got into this circle. I personally think that Vtubers are a good access to the larger parts of the Japanese music industry, being that they have incredibly diverse content. So... Yeh. I mean, I won't dictate what you should or shouldn't feel sad about, but an alternative perspective that it's with the boom of Vtubers that opens doors to the other types of creators for the wider public may be a happier way of seeing things...? Just my two-cents worth. Have a nice day!
I'm glad all the replies don't experiencr the same thing as me. My friends said I had a bad taste for liking Vocaloid songs because "Vocaloid and the composers/producers have no talents" before Vtubers become as popular. But now they are singing King, Goodbye Declaration, etc. here and there and ofc like Kenshi Yonezu, meanwhile they dissed me when I listened to Hachi's songs. I mean it's good for the community but yes they've been sleeping on Vocaloid all this time...
96neko is hilarious evenn tho this is some old video but im only now seeing it. tho i have seeen her sining from like 10 years past and tthats why im subscribed.

many utaite become vtuber as well 96neko, kano, soraru, mafumafu, amatsuki, and may be other although most of them still focus more on song work anyway while 96neko playing game as vtuber quite frequently
if I had a nickel for every time I saw people get wrecked by someone singing, I'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot, but it's nice that it happened twice.
Yo! I remember 96neko. God I had such a crush on her when I was younger. Surprised her vtuber model isn't as pierced as she is irl
