Phewf! thats a lot of work! Its a Forester-fest! Cool trip man, that smokin joes jacket is the best! I'm coming to San Diego in just 11 days! ooooh I can't wait, looks so warm there! You drop that subframe like shes nothing! weird on the water pump, hard to know if the bearings just have that kind of load or are supposed to be zero friction, at least it worked! HEE HEE Center of the Universe, how, yes, unusual!
Yeah I'm over this forester lol. After this Bugeye wrx I think I'm going to be subarued out for a while lol. If your able to you should hit some swap meets down there! There is all sorts of cool stuff. I was honestly surprised that the water pump fixed it lol. I was so ready to do a head gasket. Have fun in San Diego I would love to move there if I can make it possible
@@AgatasKatkus Really interesting with the water pump fixing it, I would have thought the impeller design would have been engineered to be identical just different solutions to the same problem, very interesting! I do need motorcycle parts!, I hadn't even thought about it while there, thats a great idea! Man doing headgaskets is not the fun, lucked out there! Enjoyed all the furious pumping (I know that compact bike pump well, coughs out a tiny puff on each pump) and juicy corn, this will be my first time to San Diego, dude I can't wait! Just to be in the warm, did a big mountain bike today at -14c, I was trying to identify those water droplets on your face, obviously sprayed by a hose...SWEAT! I remember sweat! Look forward to seeing the bugeye, at least fixing Subies is laser-beam quick for you!
@@Kingsoupturbo Yeah that water pump is still doing good so I will never not buy an AISIN timing again lol. The swap meets are cool and whenever I travel here I try and hit up garage sales and stuff like that. I got to meet lots of cool people doing that and scored cool stuff too. I had never used one of those bike pumps before and after we got to a gas station I was going to add air but we managed to get it to 60PSI! Honestly worth keeping one around. Have fun in San Diego though its a really awesome place. Don't do too much touristy stuff though. There are some really good hole in the wall spots all over.
Dude sick! Since you like foresters so much I have one for sale you’ve probably seen on the market lol! The trans is bad that would make great content 🤣🤣
Seems like your editing has gotten better in the short time I've been watching you. You must spend a good chunk of change on music licenses? Enjoying these videos of you flipping the cars, keep up the great work!
I appreciate that! I'm also just getting more comfortable with the camera tbh. At first it was hard to talk in front of it and now I don't think about it as much. I use artlist.io and for $15 a month I get access to there library of music. I will keep on pushing them out and hopefully they get some traction so I can make some money back lol
I was never into Subarus until a couple months ago. It could be cause I’m 52 and looking for something confortable, roomy practical and economical. Now I hear that Subarysbnow a days are also reliable! If you could buy one if there SUVs, what would you get?
Subarus are super underrated honestly. I think they are the easiest cars to work on. I personally really want a Crosstrek or a 4th gen forester. Just because they feel almost the same as a newer Subaru. If they are treated well and maintained they are reliable and don’t need much more than basic maintenance. If you want to go fast and get any turbo engine in a Subaru like a wrx or an XT model it’s going to be more work and maintenance. But you get turbo noises and way more power. Non turbo Subarus are slow asf but do the job
I love Opera, Classical, and old folk music so I try and put it in when I can. I did have issues a couple times using songs that are part of the public domain because some ass hats on you tube would claim them as there own. The spare forester was $1700 and didn't run when I got it but it was from someone I knew and I had seen drive. Before it sat for over a year and the fuel pump went bad. Doing a Baja trip is on the list of places I want to go for sure. It would be cool to build a baja bike and do it offroad.
If you have a subaru engine out you wanna go ahead and reseal the whole thing before you install it again. Timing service is 100k interval but so are a lot of the gaskets on it unfortunately
100% agree. This engine looked like it had some work done to it recently, and I did change the rear main seal, If I had more time I would've loved to get the head gaskets changed as well so I could bulletproof it.
Well when I put the transmission into 4th it went GRRRRRRRRRRR gunk CRUNk! The bad diff bushings you could feel a clunk in the back every time you accelerated
@ I’m having an issue with my 5mt 2016 Impreza where I have a substantial stutter on takeoff, sometimes when shifting too and it also clunks when I accelerate. I haven’t been able to track it down yet but I’m gonna check the bushings
@@bierlyynn Bushings are a good place to start, I would also check the transmission mount as well. Draining your transmission fluid and checking the condition is also never a bad idea. I always use the cheap Walmart gear oil to replace it.
@@AgatasKatkus I've serviced the transmission since this started happening and I check the fluid ~ once a month. I'm gonna check all the bushings and mounts once it gets a little warmer outside where I live. Thanks for the advice man

5:40 what is that noise? It doesn't sound like traditional rod knock? Only hear it at part throttle??
