When I watched Rambo, I never expected Sylvester Stallone to really be a very with PTSD. When I watched Blade, I never expected Wesley Snipes to be a real vampire. And I never expected Al Pacino to be a real drug kingpin when I watched Scarface. So why does it matter if a rapper is really doing what he's rapping about? Cube is a perfect example. He wasn't in the streets. He was accepted. He was talented. And he used these to make millions. To feed his family. And to employ tons of people. Some of which went on to do the same as Cube. So I don't think them being 'real' is an issue. It's just entertainment. What's important is what they do with the fame and fortune. Are they going to smoke and drink it all away? Or are they going to use it to push positivity, create jobs, and open doors for others...

You're talking bout being a 3rd grader and knowing about who was a gangster and who was not?! STFU kid, you was only banging them texbooks 😂😂
He more gangsta then you I bet
Ice cube is definitely from NEIGHBORHOOD 111
Yeah, but JD, Shorty(Lench Mob) and more importantly WC "certified" him when it came to Crippin'. And then Kam plugged him with certain Gs like Tha Comrades and B-Dawgs like All From Da I
Cube got family members who gang bangs so that makes him an affiliate not a member
@@elijahstraight402wtf you talking about mane ! Cube not from nowhere..stop it
@@kalipooh3388 Obviously you can't read, I said WC "certified" Cube, meaning Dub vouched for him on strength being from that set. Not saying he's down, but he's an affiliate. Not as a gang member
Im glad im from Oakland.....i den meet Gang members who was still REAL LIFE BUSTERS! it ain't bout where you from who you wit ....its bout who you is.
Oakland got some of the best artists. I’m jammin mad Bay Area music whether it’s Short, 40, B-Legit, D-Shot, Iamsu, Luniz, Richie Rich, Mac Mall, or Kamaiyah. I got mad love for the Bay! Rest Easy, Oscar Grant and Mac Dre!
@@geeknsneaks you already know...yeah we lil different..I fux wit L.A though we just don't do the whole tough guy by committee deal 😆
Good interview. 🤙
I might be wrong, but, I don't know any song by Ice Cube claiming any set. Now he would rap in third person telling the stories of others.
Cube was the hood narrator,he represented for THE HOOD.
he painted the picture of what goes on because he from there. He never claimed no set
He wore black while Mack and Dub wore red and blue. Mack and Dub were claiming colors while Cube was promoting Black unity and the Nation of Islam
@@geeknsneaks right 💯
Cube just represented his city/culture
Cube has ALOT of Crip related lyrics. I can give you several easily. He's just a product of his environment when writing music.
Cube is one the pioneers of gangsta no one can do it like he did he reped for the west coast down south we love cube easily one of my top 10 of all time
"I don't bang, I rock the good rhymes."
Ice Cube
" I don't bang I rock a good rhyme."
Mc Ren was from Kelly Park Compton Crips
I think the thing that was missing out of the convo is that claiming a set with a rag doesn't make you a gangster either and you can be with all the --- without claiming a set or color claiming a color is not the beginning or end of gangster
Why Cuzz hating on Cube? Eight caught it though... I was trying to place the voice. That's Mob James slow ass hating on Cube.
Passing the eye test.
Talking about that six9 cat.
Bear from 89 neighborhood east coast was in the movie colors
My eyes, I don’t think you perpetrated he told what was going on in the hood that he grew up in. He Made you visualize completely. One of the hardest to ever do it.
Eazy n MC Ren were really gang members the other members didn't claim a hood or street they wanted to do music.
Even though all of the members were in tough neighborhoods the real gangsters were Mc ren & Eazy e the others are hip hop gangster rap musicians
Cube never ever threw up a C just the W and never banged on any one but MCs in a West Coast was period
Eazy and Ren was KPCC
I never saw cube in red colors myself. That says enough
Easy and Ren were the only real street dudes, I like Cube but don't understand the criteria, Cube never did any of the things that he says in his raps, but others get put down or said they are fake because they didn't live that life, but for some reason Cube gets a pass for not living his raps 🤔
You think rappers do what they say in there raps? It's entertainment, cube painted the picture and told us them story's like a street reporter.
@@bigprob8744I kinda lost some respect for Cube when he took the fade from Solo and chin checked. Or before that when Cold 187'um(Above The Law) rocked 🤜
Cube got a pass because he grew up around it and was telling his homies stories thru rap these new dudes faking it because that's what's selling and the labels making them do it
@@elijahstraight402he took Ls from dudes twice his size. He should get the w just 4 taking the fair ones...
@@ceo469 Honestly, Cube was just guilty by affiliation. Though never put in any "work" and indulged in any real street activities to be officially certified. I felt him when he was down with NWA initially and even going solo with Amerikka's Most Wanted. Once the whole Westside Connection phase started with Mack 10 and WC, that's when I felt he was being disingenuous with his hood(111 Neighborhood Crip). Rapping like he was a shot caller with this "Don Mega" persona. Cube talked about the streets in his rhymes, but was never from the streets
I'm from Rhode Island, Connecticut 🤣🤣🤣
Aight now, in CT in Hartford or Bridgeport or New Haven or Stamford they shooting for real
" I don't bang, I rock the good ryhmes..the scenery reminded me of good times " ...ICE CUBE...nuff said 😎🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
Once upon a time in the projects... 1990
❤ great explanation 👍
I was so hurt 1st time I saw Cube in DC at hotel 2001 All Star Game . We saw him come down a flight of stairs . We a bunch of athletes. We saw him at 5”7 my childhood vision of him was crushed. 😂. That’s when I realized all these rappers were small. Some really bout it though. Some just great at story telling. Cube taught us so much about Life, politics, women , dope, sex , hood sh💩t etc
MC Eiht.....my FAVORITE West Coast MC!!
Ren was from Kelly Park
Cube dressed the part….so he faked the funk…..cube was trey in boys n the hood
Snoop Dogg is a real crip
I'm from Rhode Island, Connecticut LMAO! 🤣😭😭😭
MC Ren of NWA is hardest music rapper in NWA. MC Ren is funny LOL. MC Eiht, MC Ren, Gang Starr(RIP Guru), Willie D of Geto Boys, Foxy Brown, Redman are my favorite music rappers.
Cube don't throw up nuthin but W's. Cube has never made gang bang music. Cube always been a political gangsta rapper. O, they say he N-Hood affiliated....
I’m from south bentral on the east side and ice cube yella and dre were civilians but eazy and ren was cc
Dre from the east side with his sister that went to Fremont..facts
Cube has never thrown up a "C" in any movie he's been in. Not even Boyz n the Hood. The hell is homie talking about?
Eazy!!
Cube understand
You are
A genius!!!!
Muchly much respect for that
This type of mentality is exactly why Cube is where he is in life and these guys are where they at. Real simple
People get gangbanger and gangster mixed up. Cube is most definitely a gangster
Rhode Island Connecticut, New Hampshire it’s a real place.
Ice Cube not a gangster. Ren & Eazy were the real gangsters
Love this ❤- I grow up with NWA - Eazy e, and can’t cap also a Eric Wright Stan lol 😂
I had Eazy album wen was in prison ( it’s on 187!) and he got me trou that sentence ♥️🔥..
anyway the real G who cube wrote for was Eazy , he even wud sit down with cube and tell him story’s from street - like reporter ya no .. also E had all South west crips down with him nutty block ect - no one stepping to him! Also last rant , Cube was asked Pac or Eazy , cube with out even having to think- Eazy E! Like he said Eazy opened doors for
Mans, he dressed a way mans didn’t and then did - E brought that from all the OG’s he rolled with - keep it coming GC ❤💯🔥🫡
Rasing a family and Watching Yo Grand Kids Grow old that's Gangsta. ❤
I was always under the impression it was Easy and Ren. I always thought Ren had the best flow in NWA and copped his 1st two solo joints back in the day.
TRUE shii @ the "Eye Test" these days.. shii CRAZY smh..
Eazy e hands down gone but never forgotten still bump him to this day #godfatherofgangsterrap
And that's why it's best to be original as possible.
