Beautiful final product. I've watched many similar videos over the past few days and your's is by far the easiest to follow and most direct method for the results I want. Thank you,
The most realistically rendered DIY aquarium background I've ever laid eyes on. I will follow this template in the hopes of mastering this art.
Going through the comments I see you're telling people they can just stick this in their tank. This is not the case at all. If you don't clear coat this with epoxy or polyurethane it will 100% break down over time, and good luck clean algae off it without immediately scrubbing paint off and having it leech into the water. That being said for anyone who is looking to do this, it is safe as long as you apply several layers of epoxy or polyurethane to the front, back and edges and allow it to fully cure before putting it in the aquarium.
Question for you : I've been looking for an epoxy/polyurethane brand that is garante non-toxic and tested for underwater use. I have found a few alternatives, but none in my country, Canada. Are all epoxy/polyurethane safe for fish? Thank you!
@@suelysl5871 they all have pretty toxic fumes before curing, but once fully cured they are all 100% safe in the aquarium
This one in the video is submerged in the tank with water. It has no issues what so ever 9 months later. Appreciate your comment though. So people in the comment section will have ideas if they plan to do something like this.
If I have, for exemple, a plastic airplane model, can I use the Polyurethane Clear Coat to make it cold freshwater aquarium safe?
Thanks for the info!
Fusion is fish safe and come in a self curing epoxy paint in lost of colors. Mod pods is a fish safe clear coat and non toxic kids use it . I've used it in my chiclids tank but it has to dry like 2 days and won't eat that foam. Some clear costs will burn right threw it. Gorilla glue is safe I brush the original on foam board mix with sand a gravel and boom rock wall or you can super glue moss after and get a moss wall. Hope this help someone.
Looks so real
Very talented artist!
Congratulations on a perfect design
The paints you use besides your workmanship are of very high quality.

Hi, will tile grout stick to the Styrofoam? I used tile grout+waterproofing, and it's still curing. Not sure if it will stick to the Styrofoam well enough when submerged

Very nice . Could you suggest whether you applied Oil paints or some Fish water friendly colours since we don't want the water PH to fluctuate. Kindly suggest
I've seen one before they are not kept inside the tank just behind outside the glass
@@shivamchouhan9032 it's to be kept insde
Which paint is that
What kind of paint is safe?
Hello , what is skim coat? I cant translate
Plz mention link in description
ano po gamit nyong paint?
What paint your using? Will it not dissolve in the water from the aquarium?
Just using water based acrylics (latex paint in my case) . Latex paint is waterproof if you let it dry properly. If you plan to diy, give it a good rinse using just water after letting it dry overnight. That way, the Ph level in your aquarium will not be affected by the 3d background. Hope this helps. 😁👍
Are you sure this is safe for the fish?
Can we put this inside the tank after it finished and dried?
Yes that is why he made the background.

@@themayker3812 MAKE ONE FOR A 90 GALLON ..PUT IT ON EBAY AND I WILL PAY 50 FOR IT..
Ok but easy?
How could you not use cement, mortar, epoxy ot even clear coat With polyurethane Styrofoam will break down and you'll have pieces of painted Styrofoam everywhere! Especially with cichlids! And algae? you have to take the whole thing out and treat with hydrogen peroxide and then put it all back in. you missed a very vital step. Sorry. Would like to see how it looks now! honestly🤔
Is cement applied before the paint, and epoxy after the paint?
