This has been one of my favorite Batman designs recently along with the one scene in the three jokers storyline. Man as usual your photo shops emphasize how such a cool design could’ve been even better. Thank you for those Anthony!
Production note: the a,b,a,b video cuts on your Photoshop are massively helpful. I usually end up pausing and staring at them like one if those 90's magic eyes. This was perfect.
Man those adjustments you did in photoshop made a world of difference I had been telling myself the same thing ever since I got this figure in hand ✌️.
I love the purple cape. Love the bat but I don't like the belt...sorta. In artwork it's kinda weird. It should just be a straight gold belt. This Bruce prioritizes legs day. I've noticed that there's been some looser arm on the figures. It's not the socket but the shoulder swivel just being loose. The first figures used to be overly tight. I think it's the scale of the figure with the other JL figures that's an issue.. He's smaller then Flash and not just shorter like Martian Manhunter. For some reason the ball peg for the upper torso is in front of the lower torso. This is like every figure and I don't know why they do this. It's why they can crunch so far back for not forward. Just center it. The sculpts have gotten better(sans questionable faces) but they just aren't considering articulation and sensible accessories. If they made key changes, yes it would cost a bit upfront to implement but it would be much better in the long run.
I'm really glad I got the blue & grey DC Essentials Batman. It's my preferred look for the character and the DC Essentials figures run laps around any of the McFarlane DC figures in terms of anatomy, proportion and poseability. They even have fists!
Well, DC Essentials' proportions weren't that better either. They had super long arms. I'd say the musculature was better. MC Farlane figures usually have very tubular limbs.
Yeah my DC essentials classic blue and Grey batman definitely has long arms... at least McFarlane has articulation that isn't so tight all the time, I still really like the look overall of the DC essentials fig
i disagree with you, that gray and blue batman is good in terms of colors but the anatomy is bad, his chest is really tiny and his cape is too thin also he doesnt come with any accesories not even a batarang
I am really hoping the coming up Hush Batman is just a prototype, because there are a lot of things wrong with the proportions. Not sure if it's the way he is posed.
McFarlane sure puts out a lot of Batman figures. I got the White Knight and probably am satisfied with it. I'm just going to get the Superman Rebirth so that I have my World's Finest.
I won't be the first to say that McFarlane is doing a poor job with DC's license, it's clear that these things aren't really adult collector's items and if they intend them to be they are doing it wrong. I missed the times when we had DC Direct figures with great sculpts mostly and at least decent articulation. But the quality of McFarlane figures has decreased through the years, long gone is the company who brought us Movie Maniacs, Dragons, etc. That's why I'm now collecting only Japanese import figures, like Bandai or Mafex, none of them are perfect, but way better than McFarlane Toys for sure. Great review as always, keep up the excellent job.
With All these batmans just give me one! classic decent batman already . With some more assesories this batman definitely didn't skip leg day lol. Top definitely looks good though those legs are off .
So I watched some videos on people taking these figures apart. Turns out that all the McFarlane figures DO have thigh swivels, its just kind of disabled by how they attatch them 🤣
Also, I need to get The Last Knight on Earth Wonder Woman and I hope Todd McFarlane one day makes a rebirth Wonder Woman as well a classic Wonder Woman.
Yoooooo, so glad you reviewed this figure!!! I was was definitely waiting for your delivery…. I picked this figure up ….. and contend that this Batman figure is Mcfarlane’s best (this is a first) …. yet I’m defiantly losing faith in this line… I hope other toys reviewers and companies take notes on your insights in areas regarding engineering and aesthetics.. YOUR DEFF THE GOAT!
I love the rebirth design for sure. The purple on the cape I think is 🔥🔥🔥 I prefer the longer ears too. My favorite batman design of all time is the justice league 3000
I've been watching the reviews for this figure for a bit now and I think I've finally placed what this batman makes me think of when you were talking about his proportions It looks like Dick Grayson is in the suit. Like, if you go back to the comic Black Mirror, or Batman Vs Robin (Grant Morrison), or Batman Reborn, he looks JUST like this. Which now has me thinking he'd be a great figure for that Custom, bc no good versions of Dick's Batman exist to my knowledge. Like, saying it's him in the suit fixes the scaling with other figures problem too.
I kinda preferred the 3 Jokers Batman (although I painted his trunks black), the proportions on this one is all over the place. Other than the legs, I also thought the arms are a hair short, but that could be the lack of bulk in his top half.
The only Batman I’ve purchased from Mcfarlane was the Thomas Wayne and the Armored version 2pack. Was leaning to getting the punisher type version but the head sculpt was a deal breaker. I’m leaning to getting the Three Jokers and the Dark Knight Returns.
i wish McFarlane didn't charge 5 bucks for the stinkin BAF parts now. Their cost cutting measures are bad enough with the cheap diaper and lack of tru thigh support but forcing us to pay for a baf piece is really lame
Lower body is too weird. I don't get how companies keep failing at something Four Horsemen got right more than a decade ago with DCUC. The thunder thighs on this are so distracting that it's like I'm looking at Blue Gilly from One Piece.
I’m surprised that some of these companies aren’t taking heed to his and other reviewers gripes Feels like they don’t want to take their product to the next level
Zup Anthony, really like the rebirth version, so far my fav of all Mcfarlane Batman’s is the white knight, I also noticed the same trend 😂, yeah trying to balance these figures its a pain, can’t believe Mcfarlane is still having trouble with the articulation, thanks for the video 😎
I don't like that belt, doesn't have pouches to hide his gear and the yellow is too bright. I prefer the Frank Miller dark knight Batman belt. It's more tactical and looks realistic.
Wish they got rid of the cap joint on this thing gave him normal shoulder joints and gave the suit a black wash for shading, would've looked even better than it already does !
I don't think I've liked a single 6 inch batman from MacFarlane. No fist hands for batman is lousy and no excuse because its batman extra effort should be put for him. Especially with how often they make figures for him
Why are his legs so damn thicc, Jesus lol I like his torso but his arms aren't meaty enough. I like this design too, the yellow and the purple in the cape make it stand out more. The only reason stopping me from buying it is that it is smaller than most McFarlane figures, it's really weird.
😕 I don't like the purple inside of the cape and the yellow design around the bat symbol on his chest. The big torso and legs don't bother me so much. So I'm going to give the dark knight a 4 out of 10
With the wash on the face looks like he just got done having some catnip ifk what I mean Companies should come to you for proportions cuz everytime I see you adjust them the figure just becomes better and makes the original seem off to me at least lmao
off topic. but have you looked at the fortnite victory royale lynx and midas rex? I think those will be fun for a review and they look great for any collection. (they are also heavily discounted most places!)
Batman got them birthing hips. Also what's your opinion on action figures that use soft goods instead of just sculpted plastic (e.g. Mezco, Hot toys, etc.)?
sigh, i wanted to support McFarlane REALLY I DO I love DC heroes but for the life of me they keep on making these weird decisions in there figures so much so i do not want to even buy them
I stiil bothered with the gigantic thighs 😂. And I thought the right hand being floppy is minor qc, but I've seen a few reviewer that experience the same thing. Mine also does. Also, what is wrong with americans action figure, a lot of them have a hard time to just stand up straight.
This has been one of my favorite Batman designs recently along with the one scene in the three jokers storyline. Man as usual your photo shops emphasize how such a cool design could’ve been even better. Thank you for those Anthony!
Good point with the legs. Thats what stopped me from buying it. I thought they didnt match but you explained it perfectly
Honestly I think the figure is great
Buy a cloth wired cape on Ebay for him. Thank me later.👍 Best Batman for the price point in my opinion.
Loved it!
Batman got Chun-li'ed
I also like the short ears on Batman, it’s more tactical 🦇
Yup the ratchet joints on the ankles are a problem, I'm glad you pointed that out.
I love the purple cape. Love the bat but I don't like the belt...sorta. In artwork it's kinda weird. It should just be a straight gold belt.
This Bruce prioritizes legs day.

You couldn’t be more wrong, anatomy and DC essentials shouldn’t even be in the same sentence.
I am really hoping the coming up Hush Batman is just a prototype, because there are a lot of things wrong with the proportions. Not sure if it's the way he is posed.
Agreed
Still trash lol
McFarlane sure puts out a lot of Batman figures. I got the White Knight and probably am satisfied with it. I'm just going to get the Superman Rebirth so that I have my World's Finest.
I can't make out such subtle flaws in figures, AND when I watch your videos, they get stuck in my head. What kind of sorcery is this? LOL
i think that means im doing my job properly
I won't be the first to say that McFarlane is doing a poor job with DC's license, it's clear that these things aren't really adult collector's items and if they intend them to be they are doing it wrong. I missed the times when we had DC Direct figures with great sculpts mostly and at least decent articulation. "Or i will continue to bitch" That really cought me off guard holy shit
At least Bats did not miss leg day
With All these batmans just give me one! classic decent batman already . With some more assesories this batman definitely didn't skip leg day lol. Top definitely looks good though those legs are off .
The photoshop really hits home with the animation.
I loved your photoshop adjustment! It’s amazing how you can pinpoint these things. You are the GOAT Anthony 💯❣️🤟
So I watched some videos on people taking these figures apart. Turns out that all the McFarlane figures DO have thigh swivels, its just kind of disabled by how they attatch them 🤣
Yeah. We've known that from the beginning of the line.
Also, I need to get The Last Knight on Earth Wonder Woman and I hope Todd McFarlane one day makes a rebirth Wonder Woman as well a classic Wonder Woman.
With the yellow outlines and purple cape, it kinda reminds me of Batman's look in gotham knights
Yoooooo, so glad you reviewed this figure!!! I was was definitely waiting for your delivery…. YOUR DEFF THE GOAT!
I love this figure. Nice review
And also as far as the hand thing I’ve been using General Zods extra hands they match up pretty well for this bats🦇
The dark knight returns batman from mcfarlane is my favorite. Not perfect with the legs or arms but pose it and put on a shelf and it'll do
I hate how close this thing was to being damn near perfect proportionally
I love the rebirth design for sure. The purple on the cape I think is 🔥🔥🔥 I prefer the longer ears too. My favorite batman design of all time is the justice league 3000
I've been watching the reviews for this figure for a bit now and I think I've finally placed what this batman makes me think of when you were talking about his proportions

If you create a kit for legs I take it immediately
Wouldn't mind seeing this guy in blue/grey.
I really like the bat logo on this figure
The Year 2 Batman is my favorite from McFarlane although it was a pain in the ass to acquire
mcfarlane needs to dial back the frequency of releases if they cant get important stuff like ratchets right.
Can't accuse this Batman of skipping leg day.
Well, I think it's time to retire that Three jokers Batman.
Also, is a Martian Manhunter review coming out soon? Cuz I would LOVE that!
Very soon
I kinda preferred the 3 Jokers Batman (although I painted his trunks black), the proportions on this one is all over the place. Other than the legs, I also thought the arms are a hair short, but that could be the lack of bulk in his top half.
The arms are actually a good length if you fix the crotch and legs.
@@AnthonysCustoms I guess it’s just that which throws the whole thing out.
They give JL members only one fist and a trigger hand with no extra hands but giving FS batman and superboy or Zod multiple hands...
The rebirth design is definitive imo.
This looks nice 👍🏽
This Batman got some hams
The best Batman from Mcfarlane is the TDKR one. That figure is amazing 👏🏻
The Arkham asylum one is..
The only Batman I’ve purchased from Mcfarlane was the Thomas Wayne and the Armored version 2pack. Was leaning to getting the punisher type version but the head sculpt was a deal breaker. I’m leaning to getting the Three Jokers and the Dark Knight Returns.
That looks awesome
This Man hates McFarlane with every fiber of his being
Moral of the story is Never skipp upper day. From side-eye syndrome to Leg day syndrome.
I wished he was in scale with the rest of the line but overall a okay figure
Arthritis hands 😆 great review btw. Keep up these honest reviews!
It's looks good but am not fully convince but I'll be Lucky to find it
batman never skipped leg day
Best McFarlane Batman up to date
Chun Li Batman. I mean, I can live with that.
The arm on my Rebirth Batman is pretty loose too!
i wish McFarlane didn't charge 5 bucks for the stinkin BAF parts now. Their cost cutting measures are bad enough with the cheap diaper and lack of tru thigh support but forcing us to pay for a baf piece is really lame

Hey I'm on the fence to get the mafex hush joker to join the hush batman, not sure yet. Would you recommend it? Thanks, awesome reviews.
Thanks. I haven't reviewed those mafex figures so I can't weigh in on that decision. Sorry

Batman isn’t supposed to have skinny legs it’s supposed to be thick and chunky
No one said he should
Hi great video bro!. May I ask; is this the earth 1 Batman??
Yes it is
I do really like the Rebirth design but i rrally wish he had longer ears. I hate shorter ears on Batman.
😕 I don't like the purple inside of the cape and the yellow design around the bat symbol on his chest. The big torso and legs don't bother me so much. So I'm going to give the dark knight a 4 out of 10
With the wash on the face looks like he just got done having some catnip ifk what I mean
Companies should come to you for proportions cuz everytime I see you adjust them the figure just becomes better and makes the original seem off to me at least lmao
Thanks
wish they'd stop with the ratcheted ankles
off topic. but have you looked at the fortnite victory royale lynx and midas rex? I think those will be fun for a review and they look great for any collection. (they are also heavily discounted most places!)
I'll check it out
Are you going to be doing a review on Martian man hunter?
Yes
10:45 Lewy Body Dementia Batman.
Looks like it needs a black wash
0:39 Did you just make Batman Pun.
It's possible
Batman got them birthing hips. Also what's your opinion on action figures that use soft goods instead of just sculpted plastic (e.g. Mezco, Hot toys, etc.)?
Not my thing
@@AnthonysCustoms Yeah I thought so, they kinda look like Ken dolls instead of action figures.
Can you review the dark knight returns Batman
I might
So that's why my figs can't stand
Anyone find a remedy for the ratchet ankles on mcfarlane toys? I hate em so much.....
Photoshop looks so much better. But hey, just got this for 13 bucks. Cant complain
Better than most very much lacking lmao!!
Swap the thighs with the first Arkam Knight batman and you got a winner as far as legs. That ones thighs were too small.
Yeah this one looks really cool and all just except for those child bearing hips and legs... it's the only reason I've held off
why do they always give Batman a grappling gun.?
I do not like this Batman suit
sigh, i wanted to support McFarlane REALLY I DO I love DC heroes but for the life of me they keep on making these weird decisions in there figures so much so i do not want to even buy them
Thiccccccc
Thunder thighs Batman
I stiil bothered with the gigantic thighs 😂. And I thought the right hand being floppy is minor qc, but I've seen a few reviewer that experience the same thing. Mine also does. Also, what is wrong with americans action figure, a lot of them have a hard time to just stand up straight.
My batarang doesnt go in
Look at those big hips big legs small upper body
