Mr Ballen did this for a while and would sing David's praises. David got most of his subs from Mr Ballen. David then proceeded to verbally bash him in a video. He and Mr Ballen had a chat. Mr Ballen stated that he and David had a respectful discussion and that he would not be reading any of David's work henceforth. Just an fyi.

In Finnish mythology, we have a concept called metsänpeitto, "forest's cover". It's essentially a parallel dimension a person may accidentally walk into or some kind of a spirit (everything in Finnish mythology has a spirit/soul, haltija) might take them there. If one is in metsänpeitto, they cannot be seen or heard from our world, though they might be able to see into ours. To an onlooker, the person in metsänpeitto may appear as a stone or a tree, for example. You could walk right past somebody in metsänpeitto and not be able to see or hear them.
To escape metsänpeitto, you should wear your clothing upside down, bending down to look between your legs for an exit, and try to do everything backwards. It is also possible to just stumble out of metsänpeitto similarly by accident. Some people never get out. A skillful tietäjä (shaman, lit. "knower") may also be able to bring back a person or an animal from metsänpeitto with spells. I reckon it might also help to appeal to the forest spirits or the gods of the woods.
It is said that metsänpeitto is quiet compared to the real world and that the person trapped in will feel uneasy. In some cases they may be unable to move. Even a familiar place will seem foreign and confusing, even be backwards or upside down.
Maybe some of these missing people ended up in metsänpeitto.

The Douglas Legg mystery is a real heart breaker. It hurts my heart just thinking about what that little kids family endured throughout all these years with the agony of never knowing or having closure, not to mention what type of sinister fate that poor little kid ended up meeting. It nauseating knowing that there's some real evil beings/things in this world that are capable of carrying out such vile acts and are never held accountable for their wicked ways.

First time listening to you and am hooked! I subscribe to a few different missing persons, true crime, strange dark and mysterious sights, love listening to all of them - great variety! I've heard some of these stories more than once; however, everyone has a different voice, has a different way of telling the story - never gets old. After all, it's the voice, the story and how it's told - why I listen to audiobooks also. You have a great voice, a great way of putting your own spin on them. What impressed me before all of that was the integrity and class you showed when you credited David Paulides and have links to his stuff. There's room for everybody - doesn't have to be a competition when everyone stays true to their own style and gives credit where it's due while telling it in their own way.

Douglas Legg went missing in 1971, 51 years ago. If he was kidnapped, I highly doubt the person may decide to just one day strike again. He's at least 70 years old. If he was going to kidnap again, he would've done so already. In fact, he would've done it many times over. So, instead of being concerned if he'll strike again, we should be worried how many has disappeared by his hand.

He had alot of stories similar to these and would tell em to me and my friends when we got a little older. They were super fascinating and etched into my memory. Anyway.... Great job Joel

In the last story, Jordan could have had a psychological break. He very possibly could have schizophrenia and he had his very first "big" breakdown. Jordan may have been having auditory and visual delusions telling him who knows what! Maybe that he was being watched and needed to take off RIGHT THEN so he only took his bug-out bag? I think the sighting of him in a town not too far away was probably a true sighting. When people end up homeless due to having bouts of psychosis, with no ID on them, they could travel pretty far without anyone knowing who they are. I REALLY DOUBT he ever ended up in the National Park in the first place. NO ONE leaves home knowing they’ll be gone for a week and leaves their phone and wallet at home! And they would definitely at least shut their front door. It’s been over 3 years since he went missing so I believe either 1) he is dead or 2) he’s living with a mental illness and could be far away in another city, sleeping under a bridge like millions of other homeless people….☹️ I pray they do find him alive and if he is dead, I pray they find his remains so he can be properly put to rest and his family can find some closure.🙏🏼😇

Yes this nearly happened to my brother, he went over seas not too far, he has schizophrenia he was drinking at the time too, so he took a boat abroad and he was arrested months later and luckily he knew his name and we got a letter home for his court date, he was nearly too far gone so it was a blessing he got arrested, he's better now that was in 2000, very lucky he was arrested when he was otherwise we'd have possibly lost him and my dad searched the country for him not knowing he left to go abroad

This is almost exactly what I just wrote! Great minds! It’s also true that schizophrenia can appear with almost no warning in young men roughly within their college years making it a shocking revelation to the family and hard to catch immediately.

That last one was very interesting, as a trucker I get to visit Wales every other day especially the Brecon area.
I remember once running out of hours & parking in a layby up there near the A40 in a beautiful forest area it was beautiful and terrifying at the same time as I had to in the morning in the pitch black close the trailer door and do my veh checks prior to setting off and I was the only one in that layby.

What really pisses me of about the 411 series is not the rare, truly mysterious disappearances where it is inexplicable, but the people who head out into snowfall and blizzards, and all the conspiracy theory culture ass hats who all wave their arms in the air and wail " Who grabbed them? Bigfoot? Aliens? The Loch Ness Monster?"
For God's sake, why do American head into snow storms and blizzards expecting others to come rescue them at the risk of their own lives? "
All you need to do is get cold enough and tired enough to wander off a trail onto a snow bridge over a stream or between two rocks, whoosh , you fall through the snow smashing your legs or cracking your head, and dying out of sight. What really pisses me of is how the Rusty Burrows and Steve Stockton's's of the Missing 411 industrial machine who try to turn every DISAPPEARANCE into a spooooooooooky, eeeeeerie mystery, regardless of the fact that the circumstances, and lack of witnesses of anything odd, and ignoring the fact that the missing idiot headed into a wilderness area into existing snow fall in the face of a blizzard. In these cases, the conspiracy theory culture numbnuts jump up and down shouting about bigfoot ( who would have left giant footprints in the snow) or unproven and imaginary portals or less frequently ass- probing aliens wanting to know why the moron humans risked freezing to death.

    • @jhemnes1

Yeah I grew tired very fast of the Bigfoot thing.
Like with all the trail cams, people running around in the woods with cameras, ring doorbell cams, dash cams, security cams, etc... you think there would be one picture of it. Same with dogman, mothman, even batman😂😂😂😂

There is MacLeod pronounced Mac loud. And McLeod pronounced Mick Cloud. Mac in Scots means Son of Mac. Like MacDonald. Son of Donald. We do however have McDonald. The Mac before a name is more Scottish than Mc. That's more Irish as in McShane, McMurphy McCafferty. These names are Irish. Hence calling Irishmen Mick. or Paddy as in Patrick.

Please please please Folks, yes order his books as they are the absolute FACTS About each case. HOWEVER if you are not a regular follower of Mr Paulides you may NOT know this . He CONSTANTLY tells the villagers ( that is what he calls us , the folks that follow his work ) do NOT order ANY of his books from any other outlet . ONLY order from his website as many many folks have been RIPPED OFF related to the price they paid from other websites selling his books. Mr Paulides who has suffered probably the most awful loss imaginable recently (he lost his beloved son Ben to suicide ) is a GENUINE , kind , and HONEST man . I would be remiss if I didn’t help spread his information related to buying his books. Great as usual LR yet ANOTHER fantastic upload.
