    The battles and rallies between Novak and Roger are so beautiful to watch, regardless of who wins the point. The same goes for Novak vs Rafa and Roger vs Rafa. Each with a different flavor and spark. What a delight to see these geniuses produce such mastery and art on a tennis court. That is the Golden Era of Tennis indeed.

      @@tennislove6716 Always a good idea to get your facts right. That Montreal victory was Djoko's _first_ ever win over Fed, after four losses. Also, it _wasn't_ a straight set wins - he beat Fed in 3 sets, winning two TBs and losing the middle set 2-6. Also, in classic Fed fashion (as is often the case when he loses tight matches that are on his racquet), the Fed won more points than the Djoker did. (I don't know _how_ he manages that! Smh 😒🙄)

    • @thesoccergod
      @thesoccergod 2 роки тому +41

      @@abhinavgupta2416 Nope. Not really. Let's look at their last three matches: the Fed has outplayed the Djoker in 2 & 1/3 of them.
      1. Completely outplayed him at Wimby 2019 and then somehow lost (because he was fated to, I suppose);
      2. Outplayed him in the WTF RR knockout (and actually won);
      3. Outplayed him in the first set of AO 2020 (before contriving to lose it), kept with him through most of set 2, and then faded in set 3 - though I believe he was carrying some sort of groin injury in that match (which is just fact and nothing else)
      So yeah, _two and one third_ matches of dominance and just _one_ victory to show for it. Basically, the Fed doing 'Fed things'. What's remarkable is that he did this at 38 y.o; against a player who, besides being world No.1 and perhaps tennis' greatest defensive mover, _always_ tries extra hard against him.
      Say what you will about Fed fans (and their occasionally-strange contortions), it's a fact that a six-years-older, in-his-30s Fed has been Djokovic's equal or better, in match play, through most of the last decade. He's just never quite managed to get over the line. It's why I say that the Fed's the greater PLAYER but that the Djoker's the greater WINNER. If you're interested, I'm offering a bunch of stats in an attached comment to illustrate my assertion. 😃

Montreal 07 final for example and by the way, Federer and Nadal are well within their primes in 2011 and Nole steamrolled both of them. If Novak wan’t there, Federer could have won the AO and USO, along with his WTF title. Federer’s only 29-30 in 2011 and Nadal won three slams the year before then come 2011, he reached the finals of 3 slams again only to be stopped by Novak twice. It's just mind boggling to see a little kid of 20years play tennis like that. No wonder he has managed 20 grand slams at 34 years. Very few if not non at all
    could beat him of the same age of 20years at the time. He had a lot of future successes to come. Bravo the GOAT..🤣🤣🤣👏👏

      @@benparsons4979 i agree but i also disagree. he takes more chances on his second serve now but back then he was winning a lot of free points/aces with that serve before it fell apart in 2009/2010.
