Star Trails & Northern Lights (Timelapse)

A strong magnetic solar storm hit earth and created beautiful night sky lighting in the deserts of southern California. The Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, was visible in Ridgecrest, CA. I missed the best night but was able to get out Saturday evening to catch them a little.

So cool. I didn't know that the Aurora Borealis was going to be visible on Friday night until the next day when I saw posts on Facebook. I had seen the northern lights just one time when I was a child, and am sad that I didn't get to see it in person this time. But I'm enjoying other people's photos.

I wasn't able to go out Friday night due to prior arrangements, so I made the best of it Saturday night. I have been quite amazed at some of the photos I've seen.
