Awww Andy chasing that perch up and down the bank has to be the number one UA-cam moment of the year. Thank you so much for keeping these videos coming and it’s been lovely seeing you have so much fun on something other than commercials. Made me homesick for the Mon-Brecon canal where I fished so many matches as a kid and young bloke.
Love watching you two, the Ant and Dec of fishing. Andy fish o mania winner 2016 chasing his Perch up the canal with the same enthusiasm and panic as his first childhood fish - magic. Ordered the book best of luck for the weekend Jamie!
I used to match fish that area back in the late 80's & early 90s, including the winter league for the Telford Tackle team, back when you had to use all your bodyweight to hold a 12.5m pole. It was mostly small fish, some skimmers and decent roach, and eventually some big carp (particularly if you drew the Oak Tree pegs at Soudley - my best carp from there was 17lb). I remember actually sitting on the frozen canal in one club match - 5 hours frozen to the bone for 1 gudgeon and 1 swan mussel! And The Shropshire Union Canal Champs with Frank Barlow on one side, Ken Giles the other, along with the entire Shakespeare Superteam, Ian Heaps and Kevin Ashurst. Let's just say I didn't win anything ;)
Just fished my local canal which iv'e not fished in years .My first fish caught was like i was 10 yrs old again .Excited 🤦♂But seeing Pro's like yourselves being the same made me smile 😁Enjoyed this Gents Thanks 👍Bloody boats the day i went ,Took an age for the water to settle down 🤦♂Remember years back this women didn't have a clue ,Literally backed up into my swim inches away from my keepnet ..I stood up and just looked at her with hands on my hips saying ''You got to be F---ing Kidding me '' 🤬Iv'e calmed down over the years though lads .. Honest 😂 ..Stupid mare 🙄
I sometimes fish the shroppy near chester some great bream pegs down the track on double maggot over groundbait fish to over 2lb lovely to see them looks a lovely stretch there lads some nice fish too
Great video, 🙌... and canal. I used to love castery-nom-nom-tree pegs in my canal fishing days, too. 😂🤣 And the sympathy from CEO Rich when Jamie lost 'the big one' and felt like crying. "Do it, it'll make great content" made me chuckle....😂🤣
Hi guys, amazing video this! Reminds me of fishing with my Dad on the regents canal. I sadly lost my dad last year at 62 this has really been amazing to watch and reminds me of the good times we had bonding. Oh them poxy boats lol😂😂 oh what was the name of that other late please sparrow something?
Great to c you boys doing what most of us learnt are fishing skills as kids ! I still do what you guys are doing every now again myself but the baits do my head in big time it never helps things for me so I not keen on busy sections lol go on the canal bashing!🎣💪
C'mon the Shroppy. Blimey that took me back 40yrs or so banging out 60 goujons to the pound and winning my section when a dollop of bloodworm cost more than my section prize money !. Great to see the boaters stiil have no idea where the track is lol. Cracking video for me , so many memories came flooding back from matches fished at Chessy , Norbury , Drayton etc.
We are trying to get the younguns fishing and they're on the canal having fun, the enthusiasm is fantastic but we need to get more of them interested. Canals are easy access and great fishing, next time your down at Riddings gimme a shout and maybe you can nip down the the road and help create some more enthusiasm .. plus i'll give you both a an overnight challenge thats not fishing but it'll be a bit of fun. Hope to catch on you on the banks in some comps but i've not had the best of times lately so unfortunately i've not been able to book comp tickets. BIG love lads 👍✌️🤘🤘🤘
That was a good video, and the hawk tuah lol, please tho both of you go do a salt water fish, like shark or big rays, would love to see that, and see how beaten up you get lol
Lads if you want a proper days fishing on a proper cut get over to the Wyrley and Easington canal at Pelsall common my best match weight there was 39lb 3oz and I've had bream upto 8lb and my best tench was 7lb 12oz there's also plenty of decent skimmers roach perch and a few decent carp too
May you continue to create films such as this until you reach Mortimer and Whitehouse age!! Super memories , just a shame the mighty dollar has taken the real fun out of fishing!
all i catch is trolleys and bags out the canal.. keep the challenges coming :) i wouldn't even be opposed to "challenge revisits" if running out of ideas
My junior matches i would get called tiddler basher because on hard matches i would always niggle out a win on a few ounces when no one else hardly caught . Think my lowest record win was a few drams on a winter match 😁🎣

I am so glad you boys have found that wild water fishing vibe again. Match fishing on carp puddles is fine - but aint no where near as fun.
The sheer pleasure on both faces when catching them fish is unreal to see and why we all go fishing for those special moments/fish.
Can’t be anyone who wouldn’t want a day fishing with the lads, just the sheer joy the lads have for fishing is what makes it for me. Brilliant 👏👏

Perch are my favourite fish and the one that Andy caught was an absolute beauty.
Absolutely love when you guys upload a video like this, especially on the canals. Good work all
Cracking fishing on a canal lads, well done all involved, tight lines
Brilliant video. Love Canals more than any other venues
Great video, good to see these 2 on a natural water, especially a canal
brilliant , absolutely brilliant, very very enjoyable.
What an awesome video. So glad you guys have gone back to nature. What awesome fishes
Tight Lines 🎣 🐟
Thank you, never fail to make me smile.
Great video takes me back to the mid seventies when I fished Soudley most weekends for the Wyche anglers who Andy fished with as a junior
Brilliant love watching your challenge's so funny the pair off you
Love catching Perch on the canal.
Yes, gents, this series of challenges are the best by far. Let's get some more species badges.
Brilliant, takes me back to my roots. Thank you 🙏🙏🎣🎣
Thoroughly enjoyed that

Best vid you guys have done.Thank you
When are you lads gonna come up to the Vale at Forrest Lane for a challenge? One hour match?😂
Brilliant 👏👏👏👏
I sometimes fish the shroppy near chester some great bream pegs down the track on double maggot over groundbait fish to over 2lb lovely to see them looks a lovely stretch there lads some nice fish too
You two are a joy to watch 😂😂😂
Lovely stuff, the joy of catching those better fish (and giving the boaters grief) was a pleasure to watch. I could have sat through another hour 👌
If it weren't for the boaters canals like this would be overgrown and ignored.
Great video, 🙌... and canal.
I used to love castery-nom-nom-tree pegs in my canal fishing days, too. 😂🤣
And the sympathy from CEO Rich when Jamie lost 'the big one' and felt like crying.
"Do it, it'll make great content" made me chuckle....😂🤣
That was truly amazing
Well done guys 👏
Used to fish loads of matches on that length back in the day , great stretch of canal and great video lads 👍🎣
Brilliant vid lads, keep up the great work👌👍
Best episode in a long time 😂
Canals are the place to be. There was a three hour evening match on the Shroppy near Chester won with 33lb of bream a few weeks ago!
Very wholesome this lads... excellent vid 👌🏻
Cracking video. More like this please.
Great video reminds me of my early days fishing the kennet and Avon canal in bath 👍🎣

Superb gentleman. Great fishing too. Thank you. 🐳👍👏👏👏
Brilliant lads. Maybe doing it again without poles would have been more of a challenge!
That was class proper funny awesome lads

great video it was only missing a Eel on light elastics
Great video ,what pole is Jamie using ,see it's not mtx5
Class like carry on fishing lol😂
Bloody marvellous
Andy’s face after Jamie’s lost the fish a little break then noooooo bodyyyyy likes to see that 😂😂
Fun fun fun!
Now do a river match on the Trent or Wye,love seeing natural venues on the challenges
again whats a daddy rough and i love your fishing guys
Also known as a Pope or Tommy Ruffe , to me its always been a daddy ruffe. Looks like a blotchy ugly Perch.
A Ruffe is a species of fish, similar to a smaller brown perch.
@@samuelgarrod8327 cheers
So good..
How about doing a back to roots at one of mr chapmans old stomping grounds when he was just yothbert ( youth)
Should try Cannock extension canal, no boats and full of big tench.
Barbed hook?
Yep, standard on a lot of natural venues.
About time welcome to the real world
Does anybody know what was in Jamie’s fairy bottle he put down his pole, was a while liquid
Hair conditioner mixed with water, around 6 parts water to one part conditioner to act as elastic lube.
Thank you will definitely give that a try 👍👍🎣
Wish you had weighted that Perch
We did after, was 2lb on the nose.
@@WinningWays was a lovely fish. I miss canal fishing. I learnt the sport on the Basingstoke canal and then around Birmingham
Never , in 47 years, have i heard of a perch being called an ugly fish

I dont know understand why perch get so much hate, cant beat catching a quality perch
Catching a specimen perch is the ultimate coarse fishing experience
@@assuredantiques1832For you anyway.
Want to see the lads fishing more wild waters instead of farmers ponds . Trent , Severn , Wye etc .
Go on the oosh
Lots of ducks on the canal😂
Perch are scabheads and eels are snotties
May you continue to create films such as this until you reach Mortimer and Whitehouse age!! Super memories , just a shame the mighty dollar has taken the real fun out of fishing!
Should do canals a lot more lads really enjoyed it rather then commercials
#FeedyNumNums
Can we get another shit kit challenge please rich, we had wish so maybe temu ?
all i catch is trolleys and bags out the canal.. keep the challenges coming :) i wouldn't even be opposed to "challenge revisits" if running out of ideas
Ever had a bath mat 🤣 - ua-cam.com/video/eTiipaxw0L8/v-deo.htmlsi=eEhu4Aofsu_39vsX
@@WinningWays aye i saw that one haha the joys of a canal
@@WinningWays on my local canal
i like perch -i do not like EElS
