    I saw that and it did happen. Oh, by the way, I agree that postponing building the shelves was the manly way to build shelves. Now if I can only convince my wife that postponing work around the house is the manly way to do things. Hmm. Wish me luck.

    Can't believe how gently you put those logs into the trailer! Have to say a truly manly logger would have dropped them in from about six feet in the air! You know just like the tough pickup truck commercials!

    • @WilsonForestLands
      @WilsonForestLands  2 роки тому +3

      The guys who drop the logs in from up high are probably compensating for something. I like to think I wasn’t gently putting them in, I was strategically arranging them so I could fit more of them in.

    At the moment of your (non)tripping incident, I completely expected you to wave your hand in the general direction of the camera and say in an authoritative Jedi voice; "that was not the trip you're looking for." Obi Wan and Qui Gon would have been so proud. Enjoying your content in Linn County.

      I didn’t think of doing that, I was busy thinking, I can edit that out. Not that any of this actually happened or anything. I hope you are doing well with the Ice storm. I have been in Eugene the past couple days, it was a mess last night.

    You should hold a UA-cam clinic on the proper/ professional way to fell tree's.
    I am wondering if it's just the difference between east coast guys & us out west!!
    I showed the wives your shoveling saw dust into the wheel barrow video & my gut Stihl hurt's.
    Thanks for the dry humor and expertise buddy👌👍💪💪💪🧡🎄⛄😎

      I haven’t really thought about doing a tree falling clinic. There are plenty of people who have done it, and many with more experience than I have. But maybe some day.
      The wives might be think you’re crazy for being so entertained by my videos. They seem to appeal to men a lot more than women.

      That was one of those moments where I didn’t have the camera rolling, but wished I did. I just pushed into the pile and all 4 went up on the forks. It would have looked good on video, as if I had done it intentionally. Everyone watching would have probably been as surprised as I was.

    I tried ti un-see the trip but couldn't. Your trip recovery, however, was done in a very manly manner. It was almost like you're a ninja.

    I go to my local mom and pop backyard sawmill and have them mill me up some rough sawn 6/4 white pine boards for shelving. They are rugged and work great in tool shed, garden shed and work shop. Oh, and in my off grid cabin too!

    Wouldn't some flat land be nice! Is the dull saw the same model as the sharp one?

    • @WilsonForestLands
      @WilsonForestLands  2 роки тому +3

      Flat land? I am not familiar with this concept, but it sure sounds good. The sharp chain is on a 462. The dull chain is on an 044. Basically the same saw, just almost 30 years difference in age.

    Question. When you wrapped the winch cable around the pair of logs, you then pushed the hook around to the side of one log. Why?
    Thanks.
    (Not a pro… obviously)

    • @WilsonForestLands
      @WilsonForestLands  Рік тому

      I don’t think I moved any logs in this shelf video. It would help to know which video you saw that in. A lot of times moving the cable around will help roll the log or pull it around obstacles.

    • @Bushman9
      @Bushman9 Рік тому

      @@WilsonForestLands Oh but you did. Go to the 4 min mark.

    • @WilsonForestLands
      @WilsonForestLands  Рік тому

      OK I was thinking this was the one where I actually built the shelves. These videos were from a while back. I moved the bell to the other side to guide it around the tree that was right in front of it. This way the cable runs into the tree and pulls the logs around instead of the logs running into the tree and getting hung up.

      I haven’t thought about it, but that would be funny. I have been avoiding music because I don’t want to deal with UA-cam and their copyright policies. It’s a good suggestion though.
