You should show her Tender Surrender to show her who Steve Vai is...
Or For The Love of God
Tender surrender 1000000 times, trust us
Bad Horsie wouldn’t hurt either 💆
Blue Powder
@@symbiosisai live with orchestra!
Vai started taking lessons from Joe Satriani and began his professional career with Frank Zappa. As a Berklee student the guy was already so advanced, but after Zappa, Whitesnake, Alcatraz and David Lee Roth... He kinda just makes the guitar do impossible things in mind-blowing musical ways. He's an absolute savant and 1:1
Had the pleasure of seeing Satriani in Stockholm Sweden around 35 years ago.
He played with Stu Hamm on bass.
That was sooo awesome!
I was lucky enough to see Steve Vai when I saw Zappa plays Zappa, with Dweezil, Vai, Terry Bozzio, and so many more. Unrelated, but I was blessed to see Rush, with Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and the one and only, the Professor, Neil Peart.
@@martingrandstaff3319 Good God. Did you ever get to see McLaughlin?
one of my favorite parts to this song is the trumpet at the end actually it just is such a good little thing added to end it
They needed way more of it and less muddy crappy bass tones.
Stevie is whammy bar god from way waaaay back, pure legend! Love the channel
Steve Vai had a singer on his Sex & Religion album - the great Devin Townsend.
Definitely react to some of his stuff. If you want more Polyphia, I recommend Playing God and ABC's (for a really weird out there song for them featuring a singer).
1:55 The members are all almost 30.
The whammy bar and volume swells were extensively used by Jeff Beck in 'Cause we've ended as lovers'.
Seeing as he passed away recently, I wonder if it would be a good idea to show her who he was with that video?
I know people keep suggesting Playing God, but as a big Polyphia fan myself, I'd HIGHLY recommend something different. I'd pick something like "Look, But Don't Touch," or either 40 oz and OD. Loved the reaction! I really hope you guys do more Polyphia!
yes or The Worst and goose are also great tracks. playing god is impressive but not my favorite.
40oz is a banger fersure b
40 oz might be my fav
40oz is just amazing
I love G.O.A.T. a lot, it's the first of their songs I listened to
First time finding your channel. I like your style and your banter. Love Polyphia, from right here in Plano, Texas. Steve Vai actually did try singing some a long time ago, but is best just playing his axe. I have a suggestion for something for you to react. They may be new to you. I just discovered them about 3 years ago, and they are one of my all-time favorite bands now. They are Nightwish. They are amazing. Start with Ghost Love Score live from Wacken 2013. Keep up the good work. Keep exploring new music. Take care!
Loved your chemistry, honestly and music appreciation 👌👌👌
This is my favorite band right now! Some great ones to check out are 40oz, Goose, Look but Don't Touch, and Chimera. Icronic is my favorite song of theirs and there's a drum playthrough floating around UA-cam somewhere 😊
“Who’s Steve Vai?” That’s grounds for divorce 😂 🖤
Polyphia is the band that just keeps on giving ... no matter how many times you hear any of their songs, you will hear something new and exciting. Awesome 'Rabbit Hole' to get stuck in !!!
I have Reddit to thank for introducing me to two amazing bands. These guys and Fit For an Autopsy.
Next, Polyphia Playing God. Thanks
Nice reaction. Thank you & Subscribed.
In Steve Vai - “I know you’re here” he sang
1. Steve invented the 7 string guitar
2. He did sing and very well too on his Fire Garden album. Amazing album.
3. It’s super hard to slide your notes around like a trombone or a theremin like he did. His playing is super smooth
4. One of my music professors was at Berkeley with him as a guitar major. He said Steve was on another level and just left the instructors slack jawed from the get go.
No way! That’s amazing. Thanks for all the info!
I guess limp bizkit should thank him for their careers haha
@@jordanamandareact didn't invent the 7nstring guitar, he popularized it. He had the 1st mass produced 7 string guitar which started Nu-metal. Without that there's no Korn, Limp Bizkit, etc... He also pretty much made Ibanez guitars the superpower it is. When he had them do the orriginal Jem guitar they weren't a big company. Tye guitar was such a huge success they made a less expensive version the RG series, which is still the backbone of the company. Popularized the HSH pickup configuration and again was the 1st mass produced model to have that configuration. Also had the 1st 5 way switch.
this was enjoyable to watch
I'm sure someone has mentioned it but I was so excited to talk about it that I couldn't scroll the comments - Steve Vai did the Halo theme guitar track.
Get out of here?! Like for the actually game or just did a cover?
Really great players speak with their instruments. Only thing that can be said about Tim and the guys is, "this one goes to 15". Nothing else needed. And it's not about a volume knob. Not many ppl are as dedicated as all 5 of the guys playing in this song. It's pure emotion flowing into the fretboard...
Show her Polyphia ABC!!! She’ll love that
I spit my tea out with that Knuckles comment.
floating tremelos are the bomb!!! I think the wammy bar sound needs to come back.
Steve is not known for singing, but he has sung on some of his songs.
Check out the movie crossroads Stevie played in it during the guitar battle at the end.
Steve Vai must reactions....
For The Love Of God
Whispering A Prayer(live at Astoria)
Tender Surrender
Candle Power
Dark Matter
Teeth Of The Hydra
Halo soundtrack(he basically made it in one take on the first take)
Yes he can actually make his guitar talk....Yankee Rose is a great example. I heard him make it say full sentences on the "Skyscraper" tour with David Lee Roth in the 80's.
If you want any suggestions for music, I'm a DJ and was a sound guy in an alt band and I have a long, long list of amazing songs you should here that you haven't. I have an itunes account with like 80gb of music ive bought, everything from classical to rock to r&b to country to math rock to punk to electronic, to DJ's. Let me know and I'll start leaving a short list every video.
It’s not named whammy bar, people just call it that.
It’s actually called a tremolo bar.
Loved the reaction! If you guys are down for some more instrumentals check out BAND MAID -- from now one.
I need to know where Amanda got her shirt.
Love to see both of you go through the Polyphia rabbit hole together! Subbed❤
Steve vai use special guitar from ibanez his fret has scalloped frets
Steve is like the violinist of guitar
LOVE Polyphia! Check out G.O.A.T. and Playing God!
Look up the Noble Otter shaving products. They might be using the same designer as your shirt 👌
Fun fact y’all Steve Vai did the guitar work for the theme of Halo 2, not sure how many of you know that so I’m throwing it out there
Hmmm.... I can see the knuckles similarity 🤣
BUT!!! I never would have seen it myself!
I cant unsee knuckles now
You should react to thedoo he's the best guitarist in UA-cam
Jordan & Sonic React xD i just kidding seriously she looks good you lucky dog
Tim Henson: headed down the plastic surgery freak show ride. Next stop: Michael Jackson. But i will say nobody passes off scales as music better than him. It’s like elevator music on crack. And that tone! So choked and bereft of soul! Sign me the f up!
Playing god next
do playing god
I hope no neck tattoo on Amanda, but other than that, right on the Polyphia
You guys have GOT to listen to G.O.A.T., and fix your tremolos 😅
Lol her hair does kind of look like knuckles.
I suggest that you respond to Alip Ba ta July 97 bro
Can't you just take off the whammy bar? I've got Strat's and Ibanez guitars maybe it's different on yours but I think it just pulls out.
Tim Henson is 28. Weep.
not diggen the bass tone at all. It took way too much from the guitars solo's. They tried to fill WAY too much space with the bass guitar tones and it ruined some of the solo clarity. The bass could have sounded way more "there" in the music but was destroyed by this background bass noise that, as I said, takes up too much space and didn't leave room for all the guitar tones. They should have let Via mix this track.
Don't ever blame a guitar for your lack of skill
