      @@symetry96 its the truth stating facts is not disrespect. If I say someone failed a test at school or got dumped by their bf/gf that’s not disrespect thats a set in stone fact that occurred. If I dump water on them glue their car doors shut or put a fake spider on their seat thats not nice that one could say is disrespectful. Simply reciting facts as they occurred without embellishing cannot by definition be disrespectful. Y’all the type of people someone you know suffering from a addiction and you’d say oh no i won’t help them I might be seen as judging them. F that man its your loved one what’s worse upsetting their feelings or attend their funeral because they ODed? Anthony Davis like many other athletes for whatever reason is prone to injuries. Whether that be a anatomical issue a training deficiency or some combination of the two its a fact that AD gets injured more than most players. Stating that is factual accurate and honest. It may not frame someone in the best light but contrary to what 2022 culture says facts don’t care about feelings they are what they are and you can either accept them or live in your own land of make believe.

      It's your footwear that's causing your injuries. Your not supposed to walk around daily in cushioned, over supportive footwear, because it restricts mobility within your feet, and ankles. The muscles and tendon don't get worked and they become weak, stiff and injury prone. Switch to minimalist footwear for everyday wear and only wear basketball shoes when playing basketball.

      Turf definitely is a contributing factor. One thing I found interesting on that play and I'd love to get Doc's opinion on it is how OBJ had to react to a ball that was thrown behind him. If you look you can see him have to abruptly plant his left foot in order to adjust to the poorly thrown ball and that is what caused the rapid quad contraction and thus the anterior translation of his tibia and the rupture of his ACL. Essentially we can blame Stafford for the injury 🤣

    He was so used to playing point guard growing up and he still plays like a gaurd at that height and weight and it’s resulting in injuries he doesn’t play like a big man he tries to play like he’s smaller than he is and he never adjusted since he had his growth spurt that’s why he’s so injury prone.

    This looks pretty bad, praying for his recovery! I have him on my fantasy team too, so this sucks! I've had similar ankle sprains, and they are very hard to avoid especially for a player very active around the rim on defense and offense. It's just bound to happen with so many feet around and only so much space to land.

    No mention on him rotating in the air, no mention of rotation on the calf/leg.
    His entire body is prepping for a square shot toward the rim... yet his foot is facing toward the sideline..
    Knowing how much pressure he was putting on that PIVOT foot and where he was meant to end up rotation wise with his toes on his foot just puts more distance between the knee ligament and the ankle ligament.

    Those low-top Kobes of AD are not really secure . Kobe mainly revolutionized this type of sneakers which do provide flexibility and more freedom but you sacrifice other things. I played in low-top , mid-top and high top and my several ankle sprains all come from low tops. Some state studies showing that makes no difference but I read college and pro coaches who do say that low-top in their experience increase the odds of such injuries. My experience also does. I have felt more secured in mid and high top almost all the time. There are better shoes for a man of his size suchas Air Jordan 35 and also he needs to trim a bit. He got heavier and that also impacts.

    I had an injury just like this last august. Felt every ligament in my ankle rip. It was extremely painful. It was a grade two ankle sprain and i walked on it for almost a week. After a couple days of limping on it the pain was so severe i had to go to the hospital. Took me about 5 months to get back to the athleticism i was before hand.

    Anthony Davis growing from 6’1 to 6’10 in one summer ended up being the biggest missed red flag in NBA history. He never grew into his body and it not only shows with these injuries but also his tentativeness on the court y’know BEING a big man.

    Is there any amount of taping or shoe design that can help avoid ankle sprains like this??

    • @tommydevine9993
      @tommydevine9993 2 роки тому +2

      Taping and/or braces would definitely help to stabilize the rolling motion, but at the cost of mobility that may or may not affect his ability to make cuts or other movements that require ankle mobility. There's also the issue of overly stabilizing the ankle excessively which could lead to a weaker joint over think me (think almost like when you have your leg in a cast and the muscles atrophy). With someone like Davis though, I feel like these methods should probably be utilized because it seems that his ankles are already so damaged and weak, that adding a little extra protection can only really help.

    Hey doc with an ankle inversion like presented here, when that ankle rolls, doesn’t the peroneus muscle get caught in between the tibia and fibula? Usually with an impingement like this, it could make recovery take longer. What are your thoughts about that?
