The Good Life - Weezer, Acoustic Cover It's always hard to pick the 'best' Weezer song, or even the best album, but it's hard to argue against The Good Life (and Pinkerton).
I wish I'd found this sooner. The good life is my favorite Weezer song of all time and I'm really impressed with your cover. I just started learning guitar recently and I hope I can play this song soon too. Great job man :)
Thanks for listening :) Playing guitar is so fun and rewarding, but it does take a lot of patience at the beginning. Things you think are impossible at the start soon become second nature. If you have any questions about what chords I'm playing, let me know. Keep in mind this song, on both Pinketon and this cover, is tuned a half-step down.
Thanks! I think I have the chords listed out somewhere in the comments, but if you have any questions about how to play, just ask and I’ll try to answer
Thanks for the feedback! I definitely overdo some parts, I was going for some of the emotion Rivers puts into lines like "I'm a pig I'M A DOG", but I'm still learning how to tame my voice, so I appreciate the feedback. Thanks for listening
Intro: G to Em Verse: G D Am E Leading into the chorus ("I don't wanna be an") replace the E with a B7 Chorus: C D G Em 2x Am D G Em Am B7 Transition back to intro chords between chorus and verse Bridge/Solo section part 1 (power chords): G# C# F# B When it calms down, then Bridge/Solo part 2: Am D G Em B7 during the 'I don't wanna be an' And back to the Chorus Chords at the very end are an E7 Keep in mind you should be tuned a half step down, but these are the chord shapes as if you were in standard You're gonna have to listen to put all the parts together, but that should be all the parts
Weezer plays a lot of their songs tuned a half-step down, it's a lot easier for me (and apparently Rivers) to sing. It's a bit of a pain to down-tune all of the strings, but it helps for this song. Thanks for listening, glad you enjoyed it

It’s a half step down. This is how a lot of Weezer songs are tuned, especially their early albums. Essentially, you have to tune all of your strings flat by one note. So your E strings would be Eb, A is Ab, D is Db, G is Gb, and B is Bb. It’s a bit of a pain, but if you’re gonna be playing Weezer, you need to do it to play along with the album
Very good cover. The chorus really gives the pinkerton vibes...
This has to be one of my favorite covers of my favorite Weezer song of all time.
Thank you, that means a lot!!
Love your strumming patterns! Wish mine were this precise!
Thanks! I grew up playing drums and bass, so I had a good foundation of rhythm before I ever picked up a guitar
Really clean guitar playing dude! Your cover is awesome!
Thanks for listening!

i came here cause i saw FUNKE's version and i thought the acoustic version is more jamming than the original version
Thanks for checking mine out too! I agree, the song lends itself really well to acoustic.
What are the chords if you could tell me
Intro: G to Em
Verse: G D Am E
Leading into the chorus ("I don't wanna be an") replace the E with a B7
Chorus: C D G Em 2x
Am D G Em
Am B7
Transition back to intro chords between chorus and verse
Bridge/Solo section part 1 (power chords): G# C# F# B
When it calms down, then
Bridge/Solo part 2: Am D G Em
B7 during the 'I don't wanna be an'
And back to the Chorus
Chords at the very end are an E7
Keep in mind you should be tuned a half step down, but these are the chord shapes as if you were in standard
You're gonna have to listen to put all the parts together, but that should be all the parts
In the thumbnail, you actually look like Rivers Cuomo in 1996.
Great cover bit of advice keep your guitar in concert pitch was trying to copy you but your guitar is in the wrong tuning other then that its perfect
