  • Crawling is a very important milestone. It works on supporting baby’s proper core engagement, shoulder stability and engages both hemispheres of their brain!
Babies typically start crawling around 6-10 months of age. It’s less important on the timeline that they start crawling, but more important that they do crawl and that they crawl for a couple months before they start walking.
When they are crawling, we want to see proper opposite arm/leg movement.
Here are some signs that there are imbalances in their crawling:
    - Army crawling
    - Butt scoots
    - One leg out to the side
    - Butt up in the air
    - Not crawling and is going straight to trying to pull themselves up to standing
Babies are constantly growing and developing. This is the the third brain movement flow for slightly older babies around 5-10 months. We will be building off of the prior exercises and movement patterns from the prior brain movement flow.
Typically if they are having a hard time crawling there were some imbalances in the prior motor milestones. Most importantly, make sure you take them to see a pediatric focused chiropractor or physio and then check out the other two brain movement flows:

If they skip crawling or crawl with imbalances it could lead to imbalances down the road.
We know that movement stimulates the brain and if there are imbalances in our movement patterns there are imbalances in the patterning of our brain!
We want to optimize babies brain development and movement patterns from the very beginning of life. This will build a very strong and stable nervous system foundation that they will have for the rest of their life. And will help support them as they learn more advanced movement, education and emotional processing.
This video will take baby through movement patterns that will help support them as they learn to crawl, sit and pivot around. This video is great for babies around 5-10 months of age and are able to sit up independently with good control.
We will work on engaging the core, getting the left and right hemispheres of the brain talking, more complex eye tracking, deep neck flexor strength, sitting support, hip range of motion and nervous system calming techniques. All very important foundational brain exercises!
This video is meant for babies around 5-10 months. You want to make this brain based movement flow fun for both you and your baby. Please modify any exercises to best suit your baby. And if they have troubles doing any of them, it might be a good sign to take your baby to a chiropractor (or another pediatric skilled body worker).
👉 For this class you will want a couple different types of exciting toys
Depending on your baby's current ability and attention span you might need to break this video up into smaller chunks or do more/less reps. And a good goal is to try to do a couple of these exercises most days of the week for optimal benefits.
