What a great girls weekend 👍 probably much needed and so deserved 💪 you got some really great pieces and I'm like you I wait untill it's absolutely what I Want 👍🤪 that was fun 💕
It was so delightful following along with you as you thrift and find your treasures! I love the brass mortar and pestle but that rolling wooden shelf is Wonderful. It is so versatile
Sarah, what a great trip for you. The Franciscan Ware pitcher is a treasure. I have my mother’s complete set given to her piece by piece as gifts in the 1950’s and 1960’s. It graced our dinning table every Thanksgiving and other Autumn dinners. I have enjoyed it in my home and now it’s time for it to be in my daughter’s home.
Sarah, I enjoy watching your videos so much. you have such a sweet spirit! this was another great haul! you find the neatest items to decorate with. I always enjoy watching what new items you have found. thank you for sharing with us and taking us along with you. God bless you and your wonderful family!
That’s a mortar and pestle. That sort was used in pharmacies, but smaller ones are and were used in the kitchen for crushing herbs. I have one specifically for crushing Medication for my pups when needed.
Brass Mortar & Pestle. My dad, retired Pharmacist, has a bunch of them. He used for COMPOUNDING🥣 They are great in kitchen as well if u need to crush nuts, herbs or even pills! Would look beautiful w faux greenery in it💚💚💚. What a great shelf u found too👍👍👍
Looks like a beautiful day, saw some gorgeous things. I too love to start my thrift time with a little Starbucks, it is my little splurge, since I don’t get to thrift a lot. Thank you for taking us along.
WONDERFUL ITEMS !!! Oh my Sarah, what a place to go….all those treasures ! I think your Brass Piece is AMAZING… probably could be used for both spices and/ or medicine. Being Brass and probably made in India…probably spices ! The country of spices ! LOL!!! LOVE that wood shelf , not silly at all ! The Maple House has fabulous items 🥰 How I would love to Thrift with you! Are your Sister-In-Laws your husband’s sisters? Your one daughter looks like the one wearing the hat ! Pretty ladies for sure. What a great trip and THANK YOU for sharing with us ! I laughed when you said it was sprinkling in California …. I looked out my window at that time …we are in a snow storm and it was a “ whiteout” with the wind blowing! What a difference in locations ! 🌞❄️ Snowy hug to you ! 💛🌞💛

You found some great pieces. I would love to find a mortar and pestle! I see where you're going with the wheat look. What a bummer you missed out on the smaller picture! It'll be great to see how you decorate the shelf. ( I loved the looks you showed us..😊)
Lovely as usual. The soaps you order are french and made to wash laundry. Funnily enough Maple House is located in Washington State in my favorite antiquing town.
Love all your great fines and I also love the little picture that you accidentally left behind that would so be me forget about it then remember when I got home
How fun. How often do you and your sisters do a road trip or thrift? How often do you do trips with your sister n laws and mother n law. What a blast to have so many wonderful ladies to do trips like this with. How fun.
It looked so fun. I really thought you bought the carpet. Great finds. Tell us how you all coordinated, packed the trip how long you planned it prior. You’d relationship w your mother n las and sister in law must be amazing love it. Must be close. Who are you closer to? 🙂
Great video Sarah. How blessed to have sisters to shop with! What a fun adventure! Thank you for sharing. Wonderful finds. Our son and his family recently moved from Oceanside to Texas. I will miss visiting the California weather. Love your style. Especially love the brass mortise and pestle. Yes it is for grinding pills and herbs in the kitchen. I believe the rack is an old shoe rack. Great piece also!
Oh I didn’t think about it being a shoe rack very possible. 🙂 What was the reason for his move? California pricing has gone up. My cousin visited Oceanside once and she said she didn’t have a great experience w the people not friendly. She moved to Alabama 2 years ago and she said they are so very friendly.
It’s an apothecary mortar and pestle. Pharmacists used to mix different tinctures, etc. If you ever have the opportunity to travel back east, I live in Williamsburg, VA. Jamestown to be precise. Yep, where it all started and you would LOVE LOVE LOVE to shop here. Some of the estate sales are amazing. Centuries old items.
@@SarahsOctoberHome Next time I go I’m going to get you in on that! I would love to share. My niece is in Oceanside, her husband in military. God bless you and your family! We are old timers here as my ancestors landed at Jamestown and we are still here. I love pieces with a story so I’ll be sure to add! My maiden name is DUKE. Yes, people always tease that I’m a blue blood….my reply, I’m God’s child. Nothing more. But if you ever want to bring the girls out for some lessons, please look me up. We would love to meet you and fellowship.
@@SarahsOctoberHome Sadly, California is a foreign land to me. I’ve never been west of the Mississippi River or north of Manhattan. But I’ve learned that we all have the same heart. That tells me that God did that for a reason.
Hi Sarah! Such a fun trip with your family! I jist love getting Starbucks and shopping as well! It is so relaxing! I love all your beautiful finds! I cannot wait to see you style them! Good things come to those who wait! So happy you found that after looking for a year! Have a blessed week! ❤
Hi sweet friend. What a great girls trip with your MILaw & SILaw...such a blessing. You got some great things. Luv the mortar & pestle. Have a great week. Luv to you and your family.💟🦋✝️🌻🙋♀️
She was right about your brass mortar and pestle. A very pricey antique shop near me has several like yours and some are marked with the names of prestigious medical schools and pharmacy schools. Very neat. They run about $50 there as well.
That brass container is a mortar and pestle and they are used in pharmacies, but I would bet that piece was strictly made as decor. The ones I’ve seen are all bowl shaped on inside to crush pills. There are also mortar and pestles for the kitchen. My husband was a pharmacist so we had a few pieces gifted to us. Somewhere I have a carved mortar and pestle in a coral color that is fashioned out of some type of stone, maybe soapstone.
I loveeee the brass mortar and pestle. I’ve been wanting the same one and always saw them in Pennsylvania for $80-120. I finally was able to thrift the same one as you for $8 the other month.
The wooden shelf is my favorite!! Just so beautiful. You will style it so perfectly. Thank you for sharing your fantastic shopping trip. Going with family is the best. Loved it all. Have a great week. ❤🐇🌼
Sarah, that looked like such a fun, special time with your family. Also, wow, you definitely have such beautiful items to choose from on your thrift hauls and flea markets, from WI and unfortunately I never see items of the quality you always see. Lucky you! I loved the mortar and pedestal used in the pharmacy, just gorgeous, as well as all your finds. Thank you for sharing.
I loved looking at all the market goods!!! I think the mortar and pestle probably were used in an Asian or East Indian pharmacy (so both pills and herbs). Or it could just be an Indian import for American market. Its a heavy solid brass piece either way!! Fun haul Sarah...loved the little sheep too!!!!
