Good afternoon White Jamaican lady. 😂. A happy Saturday to you. They have a lot of mixed race in jamaica also. Well said 👏. I only experienced class distinction. But things had changed. The younger generation upper class is different. The upper classe people are mixing with the people from the projects. I spent most of my life in Canada 🇨🇦. I came to Canada in 1972. You are so right. I never experience racism in jamaica until I came to Canada 🇨🇦.. I have seen this video of Dr.Martin Luther King. In the video he said "that he had traveled the world 🌎 and he has never seen any countries like Jamaica 🇯🇲 where the people of all different races are living together without any racism. He was amazed 👏. Thanks for sharing. Again. Well said. Have yourself a great afternoon and a wonderful and blessed weekend 🙏🙏🙏🤗🤗❤

I totally agree with you as a Jamaican Indian 5th generation Jamaican, now living in Canada heard that only Blacks are Jamaicans, mainly from people from different West Indies and North Americans.

I wish persons would not question an individuals right to be classed as part of a nation by virtue of colour. Same is said for persons of Caribbean decent who are questioned on their right to be British (if born here) too. So I applaud you for speaking out that colour doesn’t make you that nation, it’s the nation that makes you. And you are Jamaican wholly and solely. Mek dem gu weh🇯🇲

Racism is for people who are full up with fear and hate. I'm from London, a borough called Hackney and did feel a bit of that when i was young in the late 70s, when the National Front were active hating on blacks and indians, from a distance I might add. My borough had a high concentration of west indian, Irish, turk and jews, so it was a real melting pot of culture and vibe.I feel like Jamaica is a trip decades overdue for me.

Yea totally agree, like you I,m white and grew up in Kingston was sent to school in the UK and began to see the racism in the uk.I missed allot about Jamaican culture but was so lucky to marry a beautiful Jamaican black lady. She also grew up in JA and we had so much in common, music, food, jokes etc, she knows how to cook all the food I love and after 37 years with her she is my queen. We go back regularly just to absorb the atmosphere and culture we grew up with and enjoy the land of no racism.

Racism does exist in Jamaica. The vestiges of it as well remain as the racial trauma inflicted on Black People in Jamaica has never been addressed by the leaders because they’ve embraced the trauma.

    • @CountryWhiteJamaican

The history is very significant and I agree, needs to be addressed. Racism is evil and painful for anyone who experiences it at any level. So very sad. Thanks for sharing your point of view. One love ❤️ 🇯🇲
