  • Gustavo Sorola and Chris Demarais uncover what happened to Pacific Southwest Airlines Flight 182 after it collided with a Cessna 172 and crashed into a San Diego neighborhood below. How did these planes collide if the PSA captain had the Cessna in sight? Could air traffic control have done more to intervene? What prevents this kind of thing from happening today? I flew on PSA as an uncombined minor with my sister when I was little. One of the flight attendants caught a cricket for me and gave it to me in a cup.
I remember the airport was totally over run with crickets. They were everywhere.

Im pretty sure this is the accident that when the aircrash investigaters interviewed other crews, they discovered that most crews were putting the seats lower, then recommended point for comfort and focusing on thier sections and that its was pretty standard practice. These points would make the c-sna completely out of sight

My grandmother was supposed to be on that flight with her new husband but things happened and she ended up not boarding. Her new husband however still needed to take that flight. RIP Farrell Kimball

    (Aeroméxice Flight 498)
TCAS wasn't a thing till 1981 (FAA Mandated), the incident in this video (PSA 182) occurred in 1978 😮😮😮

But if you fly from Sacramento to San Diego, you pass LA.

The flight originated in Sacramento, made a stop in Los Angeles and then flew on to San Diego.
