This episode really exemplifies what I love about Drawfee. Most of the time when artists try giving skeletons to cartoon characters, they try to make them as anatomically correct as possible. But Drawfee comes right outta the gate with "skull ribs"
See, my thought was immediately “Oh she’s referring to Gen 2 of My Little Pony, which had the subtitle “Pony Tales” and was set in a more modern (for the time) suburban world with, if I’m not mistaken, no magic whatsoever and a more slice of life sitcom vibe.” But that was clearly not the case.

Yeah, Your elbow is the upper most or "proximal" (meaning closer to to the body proper) part of your Ulna. It's called the Olecranon. I literally just took a Veterinary practical on skeletal and muscular systems a week ago XD
@@SavageRealityBeasts animal elbows are actually still pretty similar to human elbows, they're just well hidden up right by their ribcage and blend in with the rest of the body when covered by tissue. What people see as their "elbow" or, like, halfway down their foreleg is actually their wrist (carpus) and the bottom half of their foreleg is the equivalent to our palms (metacarpals) with their hoof being the phalanges/fingers (yes, cows and other ungulates are all walking on the tips of their fingers. Better yet, horses are walking on one giant finger like Nathan's Bingy from The Bingy Stream).
Fun fact for Julia at about 5:05: Teeth are actually not bones. They're made of slightly different materials, cannot heal themselves or create blood cells like bones can, and their enamel develops out of the same cells that develop into your skin (the ectoderm), whereas bones develop entirely from a different set of cells (the mesoderm) during embryonic development. The dentin of the teeth (layer underneath the enamel) also develops from the mesoderm, but it's not quite the same. Must be used to it, living together. Imagine Julia making an odd-hand joke to Jacob and leaving the room. Jacob sits there silently, staring at the blank wall, trying to untangle what she could have possibly been referencing.
Based on Julia's drawing at the end, what if you did a version of this where one person draws the bones of a character and then another person has to then turn those bones into another character?
Fun "fact" about bones: With pregnant people carrying smaller people inside them, when averaged out, the human body contains more bones than the average human skeleton.
... I swear to god. The tangents. These videos go on. "Do you think Wolverine can retract his teeth?" is something I would have never thought about, had it not been mentioned here.
It’s never not going to be funny that Jacob got a reference to draw a somewhat realistic human rib cage on a cartoon cow but left the pelvis as a….pretzel blob. XD
I thought the most cursed truth in this episode was going to be "teeth are the wolverine claws of the skull" but the reveal at the end just made me lose it.
When doing the cow skull, I was thinking "Psh, there's no ridge there, those eyes are clearly touching" but then I imagined my eyeballs touching other side by side and I think I'm a ghost now
"'Cause the sponge, the animal, that he's based on dudn have bones, really, right? It's not one of those bone-havers. But Spongebob has a mouth and teeth... So he has bones, he for sure has bones." - Nathan Drawfee. This leaves the question, where did Spongebob get his bones, if he's not an animal that comes pre-packaged with them.
Sponges don't have bones, but they have support structures made out of spicules, which are tiny things made of calcium carbonate or silica. They can have different shapes, like straight lines, curved lines, Y shapes, fork-like shapes and more. Their size varies a lot, from microscopic to ~3 meters long. So maybe his teeth are just really weird spicules, maybe a bunch of those fused together to form each tooth
I love how if any single one of the gang is gone, the entire dynamic does to shit and everyone is chaos and unpredictability. Only when the 4 are together is there true equilibrium
DRAWING SUGGESTION : Nathan's big book of dino lies. Nathan read some really old and incorrect dinosaur facts that Jacob, Julia, and Karina must draw what they think that dino looks like. If Nathan wants to draw, someone else could give him a dino fact.
I was already having such a good time with the first two skeletons, but when Julia started drawing the face, I was sobbing laughing. My body hurts and I thank you for the goofs
When I heard Jacob talk about back bones I instantly sang "back bones, back bones, whatcha gonna do" to the theme of bad boys. Felt like I got possessed by Julia's jokes for a second
So, you know how those Pokemon have fossils that can be brought back to life? So, one picks a pokemon, another draws its skeleton, and a third person draws the pokemon based off its skeleton without know which Pokemon it is
Depending on the selected pokemon I feel like it’d be pretty easy to guess the pokemon based on the skeleton. A skeleton I find is a lot like a silhouette when it comes to non-human cartoon characters. That said, it could be fun if they drew the skeletons then had Julia, who knows very little about Pokémon, draw what she imagines that pokemon looks like based on skeleton and maybe typing? But that feels like it would be way to long for a single episode, and puts a lot of the drawing on Julia.
Episode suggestion: the "characters from random shapes" drawing challenge but for FRACTALS, cos they look super wacky and have weird names like "Sierpinski Gasket", "Menger Sponge", and... "Julia Set"
Funny thing about Wolverine, his power of regeneration doesnt take away his pain. He tears open his hand every time he pulls out those claws and it hurts every time. And pain is something you cant really get used to with repetition, just become familiar with it but it will hurt the same amount every time. So he really put himself through considerable pain to deliver that middle finger in that xman movie, i dont remember the context but surely it mustve been very important to him.
He has to be some kind of masochist, there's no other way he pulls that off, I can't remember the scene either but I'm almost sure it wasn't worth the pain
Flipping off Cyclops so may be his 4th or 5th favorite thing to do.After drinking a beer, flirting wit Jean, being a grumpy dad, and maybe motercycles.
I can't believe Martin had so much fun talking about Yu-Gi-Oh with Karina that he kidnapped her and the rest of the Drawfee crew did NOTHING! Is there no love for Karina here?
When you do episodes like this where someone is missing you should start adding a segment where you show these drawings to whomever was missing and have them try and guess the character.
I always interpreted Pops as more of a sperm whale situation where his skull is tiny and most of the head is just...orb? But Nathan's is a whole disturbing new vision.
You should design characters based on desserts with weird names, like pandowdies, tiny raspberry fools, and grunts! My birthday is next month, and this episode would be an excellent gift!

Must be used to it, living together. Imagine Julia making an odd-hand joke to Jacob and leaving the room. Jacob sits there silently, staring at the blank wall, trying to untangle what she could have possibly been referencing.
My favorite thing about watching cartoonists drawing skeletons is that they universally draw a palm bone.
Is that not a thing 😅 /gen
@@augustsalamander3652 Nope, the finger bones basically just keep going up to the wrist. Basically how Julia drew them.
Catdog would have been a wonderful character for this version of Bone Game.
Now have Karina try to draw the characters based on the bones, with no information who they are supposed to be.
And see if she draws a minion instead of SpongeBob...
@@dm9929 EXACTLY you get it
Based on Julia's drawing at the end, what if you did a version of this where one person draws the bones of a character and then another person has to then turn those bones into another character?
Fun "fact" about bones: With pregnant people carrying smaller people inside them, when averaged out, the human body contains more bones than the average human skeleton.
Also everyone who is currrntly mouthing on some spareribs or fried chicken
Nope, because some people are miss bones, so when you factor that in it comes back to one skeleton on average
@@jolienvsndijk those aren’t human bones… unless…
@@sanguillotine I don't think it's enough bones
@@sanguillotine Also, babies don’t have the same number of bones as adults.
As a medical illustrator, this episode is both excellent and appalling at the same time 😂👌
They gave Pops 2 knees in each of his arms
... I swear to god. The tangents. These videos go on. "Do you think Wolverine can retract his teeth?" is something I would have never thought about, had it not been mentioned here.
it's absolutely criminal that the bone game returns on a karina off-week. but this is pride month so i support it in the name of "be gay, do crime".
I was so sure that when Julia was talking about "the bone tales show" that she was referring to The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy
Curse this sudden but inevitable thematic betrayal! Karina got done dirty!
It’s never not going to be funny that Jacob got a reference to draw a somewhat realistic human rib cage on a cartoon cow but left the pelvis as a….pretzel blob. XD
I never would've guessed Karina was the one keeping things in check but the energy in this episode proves otherwise
I thought the most cursed truth in this episode was going to be "teeth are the wolverine claws of the skull" but the reveal at the end just made me lose it.
I'm not there yet and I'm terrified to find out what this means
oh my god
When doing the cow skull, I was thinking "Psh, there's no ridge there, those eyes are clearly touching" but then I imagined my eyeballs touching other side by side and I think I'm a ghost now
i mean, your eyes are touching muscle and miscellaneous flesh constantly, and you're so used to it you don't even notice anymore
@@mjamin9124 that's different :S
I am so ecstatically happy that "They're Just Like Us" has returned.
I almost died at "All cows are girls!" Thank you for my smile today.
When spongebob was normal, and smooth, he kind of looks like a minion already, so it makes sense he can become one lol.
Imagine breathing and feeling the air pass across the bottom of your eyeballs.
🤣
"'Cause the sponge, the animal, that he's based on dudn have bones, really, right? It's not one of those bone-havers. But Spongebob has a mouth and teeth... So he has bones, he for sure has bones." - Nathan Drawfee. This leaves the question, where did Spongebob get his bones, if he's not an animal that comes pre-packaged with them.
He killed a minion
he made them himself
"PRE-PACKAGED."
I love the implications of the follow-up to this video. Putting skin onto characters that don't already have it. Like R2D2 or a Dalek.
Okay but the fact that the SpongeBob skeleton fits perfectly with the minion was the most profound discovery made this year
I love how if any single one of the gang is gone, the entire dynamic does to shit and everyone is chaos and unpredictability.
This is perfect
Bump for good idea
I'm still waiting for the big book of dino lies merch, that'd be a great book to have
This 👏👏
@@Keanine Agreed. I *WANT* to give Nathan my money.
For sure there need to be an episode where drawfee MUST add skin to famous skeleton cartoons.
nathan’s laugh at 34:29 lasting a full 30 seconds is my favorite thing in the world
I was already having such a good time with the first two skeletons, but when Julia started drawing the face, I was sobbing laughing. My body hurts and I thank you for the goofs
When I heard Jacob talk about back bones I instantly sang "back bones, back bones, whatcha gonna do" to the theme of bad boys. Felt like I got possessed by Julia's jokes for a second
The energy of this ep was so wild what a treat. Julia especially was so funny this was so good
It’s like… without Karina to create a barrier, Julia’s chaos is just free to create just,, whatever
Ever since I discovered Drawfee, I get myself a hot cup of cocoa and a few snacks to watch the videos, great show!
I do that too but with coffee
Its how drawfee is meant to be experienced 😅
It's hot here so I'm sticking with water
I wish I could replicate the sheer horror I felt of Julia drawing a Minion over Sponegbob's skeleton and realizing it fit perfectly
Julia saying "Deliver Us" at the same time it ran through my mind made my heart happy
Most underrated animated film of all time.
Same
I can't believe Martin had so much fun talking about Yu-Gi-Oh with Karina that he kidnapped her and the rest of the Drawfee crew did NOTHING! Is there no love for Karina here?
Jacob desperately trying to remember how skeletons work and talk himself through it and then struggling to fit it into his drawing mad me laugh
I love when Julia gets to flaunt her knowledge of anatomy.
"Don't adress the hole" "Julia's not affraid of the hole" all this stuff is GOLD and should be on t-shirts :p
being who has only heard of holes: getting real hole vibes from this
I can't believe they went behind Karina's back and played the bone game without her. This feud is getting intense!
When Julia had finished the skull, I said aloud (to myself, I live alone), _"that looks like a fucked-up Minion."_
Little did I know
I’m never going to recover from the sentence “minions are just smooth SpongeBob”
Nathan's laughter is SO contagious god I love it
Wolverine's memory problems are from him retracting his teeth. The upper teeth have to go somewhere, when they retract.
When you do episodes like this where someone is missing you should start adding a segment where you show these drawings to whomever was missing and have them try and guess the character.
YES OMY
No matter how many videos y’all make, I don’t think I’ll ever be desensitized to your beautifully cursed creations.
Exactly. I've been watching for years and I'm still somehow shocked by most of their stuff
Now we need a t shirt that say "we're not sorry for the truth" with a picture of the SpongeBob skeleton minion overlay
I always interpreted Pops as more of a sperm whale situation where his skull is tiny and most of the head is just...orb? But Nathan's is a whole disturbing new vision.
You should design characters based on desserts with weird names, like pandowdies, tiny raspberry fools, and grunts! My birthday is next month, and this episode would be an excellent gift!
pandowdies are honestly so good
i'm a raspberry fool
