Love how ChatGPT captured the very real "finally, draw all the hard parts" step that was the end of every page in every "how to draw" book I got as a kid
The algorithm trained on a thousand iterations of the "Draw the rest of the owl" meme.
This is why I am super picky when I buy my nieces art books. I crouch in that used bookstore aisle till I find one that at least tries to introduce some art concepts they might be able to carry forward and apply to their own drawings, because even though they're little, they already want to improve as artists, and I want them to have more to go off of than "Copy these circles and lines."
How to draw a unicorn:
Step 1: Draw a narrow triangle.
Step 2: Draw a horse under it.
even very highly rated books I've seen tend to do this, maybe it's an inevitable part of trying to write that sort of thing I dunno
@@Graknorke I think part of it is because learning to draw isn't about learning to draw a specific thing. A lot of better art books will focus on how to practice shading, breaking things down into simpler shapes, using and taking your own reference images, etc. You then apply those skills to what you're trying to draw. If you've already learned how to effectively shade a figure then the step "now add shading" will be easier, for example. If you've been taught to break down figures into their basic shapes before narrowing in on the details, then "now add the details" might be a more sensical step for some circumstances and skill levels. When art books focus on teaching you to draw a specific thing then I think they're often less useful. They sometimes act like they're teaching you the fundamentals by just acting as if you already know them and just need to be told to do them.
I love how Nathan just FLASHED that bulbasaur into existence as a clear example of his ability after the cursed thing AI made him draw.
What's cirsed about a perfect bulbasaur?
BROOO Nathan busting out that PERFECT Bulbasaur in less than 30 seconds. INCREDIBLE
He can bust out a perfect Bulbasaur AND Piccolo is his favorite DBZ character? I always knew Nathan was a man of culture.
bulbasaur lives in his heart, he's always ready to whip out a bulbasaur at ALL times
@@thepurplecat7693 Perhaps even _vine whip_ out a Bulbasaur
The AI really came out swinging with “Slightly larger than a traditional circle.”
Is the circle scale....... standard?
AI really said: Do you know what a circle is?
you know, a typical circle. circle-sized.
"It was heavier than a normal finger."
Differences between Willie and Julia: Willie is named Willie, and Julia is named Julia. And Willie is not married to Jacob. I think. I think that's it.
Wrong, Jacob Drawfee is a notorious Bigamist.
Also, Willie wears a t-shirt with the Willie logo on it
Willie is married to his platonic friend, Matt.
jury’s still out on whether or not the willie and jacob marriage is untrue
I feel they make people uncomfortable in very different ways
I love the Nathan correctly identified the drawing has bracers when the AI said gauntlets, Julia responds by not changing it at all, and then it turns out... it's based on a character that has never worn gauntlets and always has bracers on.
Let this be a lesson to anyone who doubts Julia. Reality itself will bend to her madness
I cannot believe that the feud is so nasty that both Julia and Willie threw Karina to the curb so that they could duke it out in this episode.
Drawfee crew: we can't keep referencing the same cascada jokes and driving our bits into the ground like this!
Drawfee fans: *use the same bits endlessly with no intent of stopping*
The girls are fightinggggg
@@serenegenerally OH FUCK OH NO SOMEONE CHECK ON NATHAN
No, they forced Karina to do an entire episode of pretending to be Willie.
As Karina said at the start of the episode, if they were in the same room, one of them would end up dead.
I'm really pleased with a) Willie's realization that it is impossible to do a non-awkward casual plug for your channel as a guest star, and b) his decision to lean into it by making the most abrupt and formal plug with the most awkward content possible. I really love it. I'm compelled.
I cant believe Karina started a feud with Willie just so Julia could end her feud
Julia needed some break from that constant feuding, so she handed it over to Karina for a while
This might be the best comment of the day lol
I think Karina can handle it
@@thewingedporpoise To be honest, if anyone from the Drawfee crew would have to inherit the unimaginable, extraplanar power Julia posseses, it *would* be Karina
Karina and Willie aren’t in a feud, they’re the same person. I WILL die on this hill.
I love the moment of realization that Julia's drawing is about to take up the final half of the episode
Oh I am so excited
I can’t believe that Julia made Karina learn how to do a perfect Willie impression and forced her to record an entire episode with it just to trick everyone into thinking the feud was over.
I thought Karina was doing a perfect Julia impression. Colour me corrected
No one can do a Julia impersonation. Not even one as powerful as Karina. For Julia Can't Be Predicted
I like how the first 2 replies contradict each other
She literally forced her to do it. What a toxic friendship.
@NemoSciunt you can sound like Julia, but you can't speak like Julia
Please never change Willie’s inexplicably bridal avatar. It fills me with such peace.
Well, he's blushing bride, Hence the dress.
I wonder if it's a Stefon reference? Willie gives off some Bill Hader energy
Honestly so impressive how quick Nathan busted out a Bulbasaur without reference
He's the anti-Julia of drawing from memory
I can't believe he drew a pixel perfect Squirtle and Jacob couldn't guess it.
For real though
real artists don't need references.
The matter of fact tone that Nathan answered "Is his name Are You My Dad" with "No, this is Squirtle" almost took me out
I'm pretty sure "Now draw the rest" was a pretty standard instruction in my art books when I was a kid.
LOOKING AT YOU, LEE J. AMES!
all those "how to draw manga" books did that
@Hunter E Ames! That's the guy! Hey Ames! Maybe, just maybe teach us how to draw 25 animals and include double the instructions!
There's another book I had, that was supposed to be a more detailed instruction for animals. It was literally "1) Sketch rough circles 2) Sketch the skeletal system 3) Sketch the muscular system 4) Draw fur and skin. And you're done!
Step 1: Color the entire page black.
Step 2: Erase all the unnecessary marks.
Thankfully while it was a thing in my How to Draw Dragons book, the author went into the process of designing fantasy creatures and that absolutely helped me a lot.
"I caught whatever Julia has that makes it impossible for you to draw cartoon characters." Man I am loving this new sassier Nathan.
In which we discover that Julia is way ahead of ChatGPT, given that she knows exactly what a rectangle is whereas AI cannot correctly identify circles OR triangles.
i dont think julia will ever forget what a rectangle is after the whole "do you know what a rectangle is" fiasco

You've created the circles-only timeline.

if i had a nickel for every time friends called me to announce a pregnancy while i was watching a new drawfee ep i’d have two nickels, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.
Congratulations to your friend! Is it the same person? Also do you remember what video it was last time?
Not at all related, but I love your profile photo SO VERY MUCH.
You forgot 'which isn't a lot but'
Omg that's amazing!
It's supposed to be "which wouldn't be that much but it's weird it happened twice right?" Unless I'm mistaken
Edit: MarlyD I think has the right wording
I love it when Nathan has to draw a whole extra Pokémon to prove he can after messing one up, even unintentionally
Even though its been a few episodes now I just always assume Jacob is there to tell us they lost footage
or that the audio sounds like dog butt
or that we need to brush our teeth twice a day, everyday, dental hygine is very important
Or this episode is gonna be Nasty
For the entirety of this episode, Julia and Willie were sitting in one of those oversized “this is our get along shirt” shirts with both of their therapists standing behind them with water squirt guns full of skim milk pointed at them. 😂
This is so hyper specific and true
Nathan’s “draw the rest” prompt gave me flashbacks to those “how to draw” books where the second to last step was still a figure drawing with the guide shapes still visible, and the last step was a photo-realistic horse.
I feel like I know what book you're talking about lmao
Willie shows up, insults the audience and Nathan, promotes himself, and then disappears for a year. Absolute legend.
Im so glad julia and willie made it through this whole video despite them constantly having the overwhelming urge to choke eachother out. Such professionalism.
truly appreciated
This entire episode is the epitome of "draw the rest of the owl"
finally someone came up with a Pokemon that can rival Julia's Spheal...
cant wait for confused people finding Nathan's Squirtle on random google searches in the distant future
I hadn’t thought of that omfg
The fact that we started out with a large round figure with close-together eyes, cat ears, tail, and DIDN'T end up with a Garf is nothing short of incredible
Edit: Holy crap I kept watching
Your edit just made me fucking cackle lmao
AI predicts the future and more at 12
Episode idea: how bout redrawing some of the guest portraits for the guests that didn’t draw their own. Not that I don’t love willie in a wedding dress but I’m curious how y’all would remake it.
I hope tehy give willie a more fabulous wedding dress
Yes, we need a BIGGER wedding dress XD
It needs to take up the entire screen
Crocheted wedding dress?
Make it a competetion, with Willie present as the judge!
"Anyway here's Garfield" is a perfect artist's rendition of Wonderwall
When you’re 20 minutes into the video & it’s Julia’s turn to draw & there’s still 20 minutes of video left & Willy instructs her to “sketch in the tall and slender proportions as well as the long arms and legs” & you immediately know you’re in for some horrific monstrosity.
Edit: surprisingly not as disturbing as I prepared myself for. Not disappointed tho.
I can't believe ChatGPT really explained how to draw something like the how to draw anime books, with "just finish it lol"
ngl “we’re poopy…doopy….stupid” has made me laugh out loud every single time
I LOVE Jacob's unability to bully Nathan. He's just not used to be on that side of the interaction.
Making it extra funny with Nathan correcting Julia on the bracers, Freiza has bracers but no gauntlets
can't believe chatgpt actually "draw the rest of the fucking owl"'d nathan
I can't believe Willie forcefully ripped the razzing lightning rod off of Jacob and stapled it to Nathan for the rest of 2023
Wille's self promos when he's a guest are always comedy gold
The best part about Nathan mentioning the "gauntlets" is that Julia was closer to the final form with her bracers.
Chatgpt just secretly makes all its drawing prompts for Julia. It knows exactly what she thinks so makes them all with that in mind.
Fun fact: final form Frieza is regular Frieza. His other forms (besides Golden) are him forcing his body into other forms in order to weaken himself because otherwise he would run out of energy due to just how bad he is at controlling his ki.
i actually asked chat gpt to write a drawfee episode a little while back and it went a little something like this:
[Title Card: Drawfee]
[Open to Julia and Jacob sitting at their drawing desks with a blank piece of paper in front of them]
Julia: Welcome to Drawfee! The show where we take your suggestions and turn them into beautiful works of art.
Jacob: That's right, Julia. And today's suggestion comes from our viewer, Sarah, who wants us to draw our favorite mythical creatures.
Julia: Oh, this is gonna be a fun one. I can't wait to see what you come up with, Jacob.
Jacob: Likewise, Julia. And I'm gonna start things off by drawing my all-time favorite mythical creature, the Minotaur.
[Cut to Jacob's drawing]
Jacob: I imagine my Minotaur as a massive beast with rippling muscles, a bull's head, and a massive axe in hand. And to give him a bit of personality,
this is the point where chatgpt failed to load anything else
I feel like I just watched a Drawfee episode from an alternate universe
@@greyisnthere this is evil drawfee
@@emili0645 drawfeevil
@@greyisnthere drawfeevil doesnt have enough likes. This is a top tier comment
Why is that so unsettling?
Suggestion; One of you (Nathan maybe? He does have the best memory) chooses out of context audio excerpts from past videos for the rest of you to try drawing the art from that episode. If drawing a blank you can always treat the quote like a prompt.
+ LOVE this
+ this would be so funny
This would be awesome!!!

Hell yeah.
It’s crazy that Karina perfected her Julia impersonation just to make it look like they stopped feuding. If you listen closely you can hear her slip up a couple of times.
Disdainful Bulbasaur's reaction to "Squirtle" excitedly doing jazz hands next to him is perfect in every way.
I love that they did another Pokémon because every time they do we get closer to my dream of a Pokémon rom hack where all the sprites are replaced with the Drawfee versions.
"shut up, Nathan" to Jacob's question absolutely broke me
Agreed. I died and have yet to recover.
38:30
julia's classic handsome man face drawn on just a circle is very funny
classic tumbler sexy man freiza
Julia should prove the feud is over by doing a guest appearance on Knitting Time With Willie. She could learn to knit.
That would be awesome!
"Julia, is this KNITTING?!"
Oh this is a really cute idea
There's no way Julia doesn't already know how to knit. She knows how to do everything!
@@Ivoravoid she doesn't know how to draw bobby hill
Incredible that ChatGPT told Julia to draw gauntlets but she ignored it to draw bracers but she was right cause frieza actually does have bracers and no gauntlets
18:10 Nathan’s screamy-squirrel voice is *alarmingly* good. Also, these drawings were freaking hilarious
Yeah dude could work as a voice actor for that one lol
I've been watching Willie's channel for months and never put together that he's the same Willie from my favorite drawfee episodes what a trip
Don't be mistaken. The battle between Julia and Willie is still ongoing. They just did this to trick us all into thinking they're friends.
They put aside the feud to trick the audience. How devious
@@JDM-is-my-name That's showbiz, baby!
Public image is really important after all
So Julia can leak Willie's nudes before he reaches the goal
i choose to believe that they just temporarily put aside their differences to feud against Karina
I cant believe they trained an ai to do a perfect Willie impression so they could fool us into thinking he was in the same room as Julia.
After Nathan added the shell, the rounded arms and legs looks like circulation is being cut off and they're horribly swollen.
this made me miss when julias lovecraftian horrors were an expected and regular part of each weeks episode
I really need DeepBlueInk to animate Nathan screaming “DRAW MY FEATURES!”
Amazing that Willie promo has become its own Drawfee bit #100KforWillie #WilliePleaseStayClothed
The best part about the Seinfeld AI going on to make bigoted jokes was that it didn't use a laugh track during that scene, and Larry specifically mentioned that he's only saying it because nobody laughs anymore and he's just trying something new
Crazy cause that's how most big comedians end up moving towards bigotry at the end of their career
And it's what Cramer's actor did.
I'm just impressed that Jacob managed to give his Garfield perfect Garfield cheeks despite not being prompted by the instructions to give him Garfield cheeks at all. Psychic
Nathan drew a new entry for the Dark Poke-dex. Then casually busted out an excellent Bulbasaur with no references. Thank you Nathan!
Nathan’s and Jacob’s: comically wrong, nothing in common with the original character.
Julia’s: basically spot on, just a bit vague.
Julia comes in at the end and shows what a traditional circle looks like!
I was skeptical at first that the AI could give instructions anywhere near a typical "how to draw" book, but then it's instructions were "draw some basic shapes. Now do all the hard parts" and I'm convinced. 10/10, no notes
Shout out to Julia's perfectly traditional circle.
Oh my gosh I love Nathan's screaming squirrel voice so much
Love an episode where it gets to Julia and we're only halfway through the ep. Yes. Yes, excellent.
Fun fact: Squirtle's tail is inspired by Hokusai's "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" !
So glad Julia and Willie got over their longstanding feud and were able to put aside their numerous differences for this video
They had to join forces in order to stand a chance against Karina, with whom they both have a feud now, of course.
Nathan just cranking out a perfectly cute Squirtle in seconds is proof of how ELITE an artist he truly his
Every episode with Willy is a treat! Nothing could have prepared me for the whiplash of his announcement at the end though. 10/10 #100KforWillie
One of the Garfield books back in the mid 1990s actually had a thing showing how to draw Garfield step-by-step. Actually really good instructions, and I used to recreate entire comic panels as practice when I was in 4th grade. I still have some of the drawings, and they really were pretty dang close to the original. Garfield, and the Calvin & Hobbes comics are what got me into doodling and cartooning. The Far Side, while I could never replicate that style, was by far one of the funniest comics ever made, and is pretty much the foundation for my twisted, morbid sense of humor.
I love how the picture in 1:06 looks like Jacob is marrying Julia and Willie together
The way it’s all been arranged makes it look like Julia is looking at Willie lovingly while Jacob and Willie look at the camera sitcom style. It’s like a shot from the opening sequence of a tv show.
I saw that there was still 20 minutes left in the video with just Julia to go, and I was like "Julia is gonna do something really wild here, or Willie is going to do a particularly long, rambly outro, or both, and i'm here for it whatever happens"
I love how Drawfee episodes can only have 4 people in them. There is simply not enough room for any more.
This episode is just one of those drawing guides that are " draw a horse in four steps:1 draw the head 2 draw the ears 3 draw the eyes 4 add a shit ton of details and make it look like professional drawing insead of simple drawing
wait, willie and julia in the same room? I can no longer say "sure, but have we ever seen them in the same room before?". I must now accept the possibility of multiple dimensions converging
Well sure, we've HEARD them in the same room now. Still haven't seen them though (except in multiple streams).
But have you really seen them in the same room? Julia could just be really good at doing a fake voice and having a conversation with herself.
Julia in this episode was like
Enmity ended with Willie, now Nathan is my nemesis
I can't believe that they ended the Willie-Julia feud for this episode!
Why does Willie every so often sound like a significantly deeper voiced Karina to me 😂 I occasionally got confused about who I was listening to while forgetting that Karina isn’t even in this episode….. I was like “aw, is she sick?” Like how embarrassing hahahah
It's just Karina forgetting about the impersonation they forced her to do all episode.
They sound so similar is crazy
after that opening i think they should do an episode where they pretend to be each other, like drawings in each other’s style + rping as each other
That Garfield looks like a Happy Tree Friends character who just has to keep smiling despite all his friends being killed in horrific accidents.
I'm still trying to recover from how fast Julia drew that circle
IVE BEEN BEGGING AND SOBBING WAITING FOR ANOTHER WILLIE EPISODE IM SO HAPPY
Willie is the original Jacob Bully and I feel like he has neglected his responsabilities these last few times
because Jacob asked about it, I did ask chatgpt to write a drawfee script

Julia: Hi there, and welcome back to Drawfee!
Jacob: The show where we take your suggestions and turn them into beautiful, ridiculous, and sometimes horrifying works of art.
Karina: We're so excited to be here today, because we have a very special challenge for ourselves.
Nathan: That's right! Today, we're going to try to draw each other's faces from memory.
[The camera cuts to a close-up of Nathan's face, looking skeptical.]
Nathan: And let me tell you, I have a terrible memory.
Julia: Don't worry, Nathan, we all do.
Jacob: Speak for yourself, Julia. I have a photographic memory for faces.
Karina: Yeah, Jacob, but can you draw a face upside down?
Jacob: [Pauses] No, I cannot.
[The camera cuts back to the four hosts.]
Julia: So, the rules are simple. We're each going to take a turn sitting in the "hot seat", while the others try to draw our face from memory.
Nathan: And just to make things interesting, we're going to be timing ourselves.
Karina: Whoever takes the longest to draw their face has to do a punishment at the end.
Jacob: What kind of punishment?
Karina: [Smirks] You'll have to wait and see.
Julia: Alright, let's get started. Who's going first?
Nathan: [Raises his hand] I volunteer as tribute.
Jacob: Alright, Nathan, take a seat and let's see if we can draw that beautiful mug of yours.

Mathematician and Engineer here, and the development of AI intelligence is definitely something we have to talk about as a society. Both how we are going to use it and the ethics of how we are going to treat it. But I just turned 40, and there is something I have noticed over the last 20 years. The conversation has overwhelmingly focused on the fear of "the robot revolution" and we are not remotely close. There has been some impressive movement in the last 5 years and some barriers have been broken that people have been working on for the better part of the entire information age (since the dawn of computers in the 80s). However, people have a strong tendency to "anthropomorphize" (project human characteristics and motivations on things which don't/can't possess them) and this cases people to think we are closer to machines taking over then we are. Willy is right here, If you work with AI for a while you start to see it's limitations, and when you do you realize that it still has a LOT of growing to do.
sorry but i do love how your comment while arguing against its closeness still acknowledges the robot revolution almost as an inevitability. a bit of a hard read on humanity that however long it takes we're absolutely going to push it to that point

I spent the entire time up to the reveal assuming Willie was reading Julia what the AI thought was a perfect description of Goofy. I'm still not entirely convinced Willie didn't decide last second to say it was Frieza just so the instructions made any sense.
The willie bit at the end is fantastic.

I always enjoy the collaborative process when they draw something with everyone in the room. Not to knock the speed draws but the chaotic and constructive energy that comes from active feedback while working is just an amazing experience I've never seen before.
It makes me wonder what an actual collaborative piece would be like where they can mess with each other. They've talked about drawing on those online shared boards but they do things in the same room at the same computer now. I suppose a hot seat challenge would be fun where every few minutes they swap out who's working on the current image. It would be so interesting to see how they would affect each other with their different styles, making it harder for each other either in accident or trolling.
It's Julia's turn to start: she makes a background. Jacob hops in and sketches in some great shapes for some characters. Karina starts to make it about some obscure media and then Nathan is left to pick up the pieces.
Actually, Julia would be more likely to transform the painting into an eldritch horror halfway through. That's what a kid in my art class did. While everyone else that was good at eyes and hair helped expand on people's art when we played musical chairs with our art this one kid only drew tentacles and just ruined every picture they touched.
