Alfredoo! "no more bitching about left right audio" but now it only hears on left side! Makes watching your vid with headphones really uncomfortable. Just being constructive. Abrazo!
Jose Joseplao holy crap that happens to me a lot like I was looking on how Romanesque my bike dialed as soon as I looked it up alfredo uploaded a video of how to make it dialed😂
I tell it how it is man, but are you guys selling the new stickers by themselves or only sending them out with orders? I just ordered a month or so ago so I'm not gonna be getting anything too soon, but the stickers are definitely sick
Plus helium won't stay in your tires. It will leak out and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Its literally pointless lol. Use nitrogen, it won't be any lighter but it will help performance.
The combined weight of two 1/2" long pieces of 7/8" OD, 0.035" wall, 4130 steel tube is less than half an ounce (0.416 ounces). The weight of a 3-1/2" long piece of 1" OD, 0.125" wall, 6061 aluminum is less than 2 ounces (1.8848 ounces). Total weight saved is a whopping ~2.3 ounces.
I read that you never put grease on your seat post because it forces you to over tighten the clamp, eventually breaking something. You're supposed to use assembly lube that has particles in it that increase friction.
new mic was a good idea.. but honestly the audio was pretty fucked throughout the video. like at 2:07 ..left side is loud as hell but the right is quiet as hell. just figure where to place it so it has the perfect sound :)
We just shaved an 8th of an ounce. You can also sand off the paint and graphics if you're going for ounces. Just remember to polish it daily to avoid corrosion.
Helium doesn't make your bike lighter it makes it heavier. Yes helium it's lighter but it's also a lot smaller so if you want to fill up your tires it would take a lot more helium particles to fill it, resume air it's best choice.
Helium does make your tires lighter for the same pressure in the tire. It would not take a load more helium particles to fill it (decent assumption that the air and the helium are both ideal gasses) however apparently as the helium atoms are smaller they diffuse much faster through the tire making it flat faster, which is of course bad
Correct me if i'm wrong but pipe cutters are for copper and black iron anyway so that might be why they dull easy on seat posts. Just saying. I personally never thought to use one.
+ Alfredo Mancuso you forgot to show the scale lmao Personally, if you can't hop on a 30lb or even more bike, most times its awful technique. Rotational weight is a factor, but with most bikes 27 or less pounds not many need to shave weight. Cut bars, post and overly extended axles and you probably lost 1/2 pound but the bike will feel better
Dude, I think your video was good because it is helpful to kids learning to work on a bike. I have been into BMX since 1982. What you are showing will shave less than a pound or two. I would mention an aluminum seat post, and bars. I would be glad to give you more ideas if you are interested. I've been an ornamental Ironworker for 20 years.I know some things that older guys like us could pull off because we have the tools.
eastern had some frames with cutouts in them. sick looking frames. but mostly only the titanium frames snapped because titanium is brittle at a certain thickness.
Drill through your spindle. I drilled straight through mine and took off 2 ounces. I drilled away strategic places in my seat, and drilled holes in non important bolts like the seat bolt and seat clamp bolt(i also drilled holes in the welded piece of metal that makes up the seat post clamp on newer bikes.. also take off any washers on your axles, and all tiny washers on screws. I even drilled holes in the top of my pegs because i have never seen a chromoly peg break and it gives me more grip for peg manuals.
your the man alf!!!! IL b in Cali in about a month....as soon as I land my ass is headed to oss 100%..... keep up all the banging Vids!! big fan up in MD!!
If you're running 19mm cranks, consider 22mm. If your seatpost is stupid long then chop it down so it's a more reasonable. Slam the rear wheel and make sure the chain is as short as it can be, remove excess links. Also makes that rear end more responsive. Plastic bar ends instead of metal. Hollow bolts if you're willing to spend the money on such things, titanium if you're extra. If you run brakes I recommend the Odyssey Springfield, it's light, cheap and simple to set up thanks to a single central spring (as opposed to a spring on each arm which requires balancing). If you're looking to replace your forks for any reason then I recommend Total TWS, they're 880g.
If i can compare my bike for you to know it would be the steve churchill vs 50lbs bike that john hicks put up alex supra e rims with the extensions for the 14mm axle 48 spokes would love to make my metal kizz lighter
So weird i did all this in the morning before i saw this vid i even went an weighed what i cut off my bars an seat post, around 5.7 oz. watched your vid on how to cut bars an headed off to get a pipe cutter as soon asi woke up. Love the channel an daily vids. Stay fukkin.
i have a question about bottom bracket bearings just bought a new frame and needed to know if to go from a 19 mm to 22mm does the outer casing of the bearings change for the frame or just the inside of the bb to accommodate for the spindle if someone could help me out with this thank you so much
If a tube is too small it’s just gonna thin out and deflate. Also there’s a video that debunks the helium theory, helium actually makes your bike heavier since it is so much less dense than oxygen, you have to put so much in that it then adds more weight
The mic was only playing on the left ? Maybe it wasn't plugged in all the way or it could be something in the editing software that made the left speaker on 100 and right on 0
hey alf im having trouble doing pick up bars and hop bars im 6 foot 2 and cant grip my seat, i can sort of pinch my seat when i ride left foot fwd but i ride right foot fwd any tips cheers
Helium is less dense than air. Therefore you can fit more helium in a space such as a tire. When compressed to something hard enough to ride (let alone tail tap or something) it weighs more than air. Almost double.
Lol theirs 2 hole on each side of the front of the frame mine as it to and the back peg.. I got hit bye a car a few weeks ago Nd the car it the extra metal and I just bounced a bit fowerd thanks for the vid!
grease on the seat tube? not hating but i've used a file to fine tune. even with cutting bars too get a circular file and basically bore it out until it looks even and the bar ends fit cleanly. also for bars it tiz good to file the outter dia. to get rid of the flange that some pipe cutters may leave. just make sure to never get metal shavings away from the bike completely and can even use sand paper to fine tune. i had a pair of stock stln bars and i cut a an inch off all around and it turned out the inner dia was thicker than the outter, which is cool to add strenth but it just goes to show every brand is different and since bmx is so common more than ever, the political angles seem pretty fierce. i put a cylinder file through hell to fine tune those bars to make sure there was no sharp edges and the bar ends fit in tact. if i could do it all over i would toss the bars to a taller rider and tell them to run them stock, even when the cut was clean and even on both sides. the less metal shavings, dust and dirt you deal with, the better off you'll be. including grips, i been running cult grips for 2 years and i ride atleast 2x a month.. how? i take them off and clean them regularly with soap and an old toothbrush.
I used to always use the cheaper regular chains and I would snap them just from pedaling cause I never did any grinds or stalls when I used them I broke about 1 chain every week

I read that you never put grease on your seat post because it forces you to over tighten the clamp, eventually breaking something. You're supposed to use assembly lube that has particles in it that increase friction.
