@@janelemans8049 do you have any prior experience tinkering with watches? I bought a not working SQ50 Titanium and would like to repair it. Unfortunately all those little parts are intimidating. Best I could do is replace the capacitor/battery and hope for the best.
Do you have any prior knowledge tinkering with watches? I just bought an SQ50 as well, its a 5m63 I think and im waiting for it in the mail as of now. It was sold as nonworking and All those little parts are intimidating for me. I have a bit of experience with watches but not total disassembly and service. Best I could do is replace the capacitor and hope for the best.
@@ermitanyo777 What I have done is follow all the steps like in the Video of SolimBD. Neverthless it is confusing from time to time as not all the screws are the same size and the parts that come off have to interlock with each other in the exact same way if you rebuild the watch. It took me a few hours to get the watch back again. Had to redo some steps as it was not exactly correct interlock the first try. You need a lot time and a steady hands. Also watch out that you don't drop a screw or a small part. The changes of finding it again are very small.
@@janelemans8049 thanks for the response. Im actually a very DIY guy, opened a couple of watches here and there and relatively new when it comes to watches, Ive been collecting for a year and a half. I read a lot about watches and study them. I just dont have the confidence yet to do a full service for my watches yet Ive already amassed tools for the job. Maybe Id pass this on to the pros if the battery change didnt work as I want to wear it. Hehe thanks
How difficult it all is. And most importantly, remember where, what and where. I love watching your videos. You are a good fellow and your hands are "golden"...👍
Thanks for the video, will help me when I do this very soon. Very good control, I find that my hand shakes more than yours. I also find that the screws stick to my tweezers. I saw both hair also, very good camera that your using.
Great! But do you not add any lubrication? All ‘servicing’ videos are just taking it apart and putting it back together again, what does that achieve? I have a kinetic where the winding gear train is very stiff, the rotor does not turn on it’s own.
I saw a video, on another channel, where they used Mobius 9010 to lube certain parts. I think this video is just to show the sequence of disassembly, and assembly. The hairs would have caused problems for this watch.
Hi there, this video is awesome! Question though. How did you take the dial off the movement? I have a Landmaster Kinetic, 7 day and can not figure out the dial removal process. I'm fearful of damaging it. Please explain if you can. Thank you!
Eureka! I received the 5m65 motor the other day and compared it to the old one and found two twisting half screws. Turn counterclockwise and voila! Dial came off. The two motors/movements are completely comparable with the case and hands and all!

Demagnetizing a step rotor is possible, but it's important to consult the manufacturer's instructions or a qualified technician to ensure proper procedure. Demagnetizing the wrong way can damage the rotor. shop.diywatch.club/products/watch-testing-mechine-1
At the least, you've made the service look like child's play 😁 Thanks for posting it. My Kinetic Perpetual 7D48 has its date stock at 2x. So, date changes between 20 to 29. Is it DIYable?
Interesting it says it has 6 jewels but I did no see any rubies. Seeing that plastic base plate was a little disheartening. I have a Kenetic but mine has a the retrograde week indicator.
Thanks! With your help I succeeded in the repair of a Seiko SQ50 Kinetic watch. Love to watch your instruction videos.
Nice work!

Hi. Maybe you know where I can find some pieces to restore my 1997 Kinetic Arctura? Model 5M43a with the case in one piece only. Thanks in advance 👍
Try to search online vintages repair shop page or website

The 6 jewels are inside the movement, not visible externally.
The jewels are actually visible. Some are press fit in the plastic base plate.
I always love your videos. Clean execution of the disassembly and assembly 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Excuse, what isbthe part name / number / reference at 6:22 ?

Hello. seiko kinetics after repair go counterclockwise. Did I install the rotor incorrectly? Please tell me how to solve this problem. Thank you!
This problem occurs when the stator is bent, in this case the stator should be changed
@@SolimBD Thanks :(
great shame it does not show how to take out the stem or movement from the case.
Comparing to stripping down the movement, those two manuvers you mentioned are easy.
Should I buy automatic or kinetic watch
Automatic best
