He’s arguably (don’t get me wrong he’s a stud) the most overrated player in baseball. His offensive numbers are heavily inflated by Coors field, and it shows because his road splits aren’t even somewhat close to MVP caliber. Even if you’re just comparing raw numbers before bringing in that kind of context, Arenado isn’t on Trout’s level offensively. All-time great defender and yes he plays his position better than Trout plays his. But Trout has still been an above average fielder at a premium position, and pair that with him being a far better hitter and baserunner (which Arenado doesn’t do at all), it’s not close. Also, Bonds was the best player in the game and the best player that baseball had seen since his own godfather before he even had those superhuman years. Also, I’m not surprised I come across another person who mentions PEDs. So many players were doing it at that time and none of them could do what he did because he was just flat out better. He wouldn’t have been able to do what he did on PEDs if he just had an average/very good skill set without them.

I'd like to see trout steal more bags each year. He should average 35-40 bags a year with his speed. And think about it. Trout has never had any batter to protect him.
