It's not that steep.
this drop isn't actually terribly steep (you should see the dare devil) but it's still not easy to get on the goliath
the first time I rode it I remember saying "getting pretty high there aren't we??" after only about fifteen seconds on the lift hill (I think the lift hill takes about 35-40 seconds)
On camera the drop looks small but in real life it’s like huge

Tbh I think this ride is under rated I hear about the big boys like Shambhala, Nitro, and Diamond back but never Goliath. But Goliath looks awesome!
fatmike371 Nitro's pretty overrated according to Bedholm I kind of agree with him you have to sit in the front to get the best airtime isn't enough to be a good ride that's why RMC's and Intamins tower over B&M they provide airtime no matter where you sit
CoasterGeek1216 Oh yeah RMC is so much better than B&M now a days and Intamin has always been the best IMO. I'm going to ride RMC Roar next year!
+CoasterGeek1216 while b&m may not focus on airtime their roller coasters are extremely smooth and graceful. Don't get me wrong, I'm an airtime junkie but I love b&m layouts as their not too fast. They have slowdowns in inversions and airtime hill which give extended feelings of weightlessness and hang time. You really have time to enjoy a B&M whereas on Xcellerator or Wicked Cyclone it's quick and fast-paced. It's one of my dreams to ride an RMC though. LET'S SEE ONE AT HERSHEYPARK!!! WILDCAT

I absolutely agree. This ride is practially flawless. A decent drop, three huge floater hills, a perfectly placed hammerhead turn, and those three bunny hills on the way back.. and even that little dip at the very end that provides one last pop of air before the brakes. Even the single dull moment, the turn before the brakes, has the trees extra close and is when your picture is taken, a perfect opportunity to say cheese.
The shining jewel is the turnaround. No boring turn without force or airtime here.. instead we get half of an airtime hill, followed by a very forceful downward helix that gets more and more intense. The only instance of brakes is placed perfectly.. right after the helix and before the next hill. Unlike coasters where there's a midcourse brake run or trims on the hills, this is on the valley between elements as to not disrupt the pacing. An absolutely flawless ride, I adore it.

Its been over six years and I still can't get over that first drop. Most intense drop I've ever felt.
at six flags great america the drop on that one is slightly bigger since it goes underground and as a starter when your at the top there's a 6 footish drop and then it sends you plummeting down that spiral at the end seem intense raging bull doesn't have that seems interesting

I find it interesting that this ride is ranked so high by many enthusiasts, but yet so many of them also complain about how Mako coming to SeaWorld Orlando doesn't look tall enough or is too short of a ride when it is the same height and in fact a longer ride. They really can't say anything before its even started vertical construction...
I think many enthusiasts were expecting a hyper in the Shambhala range of height. I think that Mako is going to be a great ride !

It's still gonna be awesome since it's actually going to have some good theming. I personally think a shark themed ride is an awesome idea *****

James C and it will probably have very strong floater airtime, and a little bit of ejector airtime.
Me and a few friends went on this this ride earlier this month. As soon as the ride speeds up, every time we reach the top of the lifts, I feel myself lifting from my seat.
It reminded me of when I was a kid and my grandparents drove us out of town to their fishing house. My grandpa would drive fast over the humped roads and I’d feel the pit of my stomach being lifted. It was so much fun.
this was my very first roller coaster.... I regret is so badly now 😔

I grew up about an hour away from Six flags. This ride is AWESOME. First time I rode it I was up front. That first drop from the front seat is the best place to ride. In person that drop is way more insane.

I really wanna ride it but I’m way to scared🤣🤣I haven’t been to Six Flags in about 6 years and I went back in August for the first time since then and we were gonna ride all the big rides and I was scared of most of them because they have the loops and the Goliath we got right there and I chickened out😂I’m going again in a few weeks and I’m forcing myself to ride the big rides this time haha I’m so scared🤣

this ride is so amazing omg...i got to the park early one year and RAN to this ride with my brother and we got to go on it twice without waiting in line. it’s my favorite roller coaster experience.

This is my favorite ride there and I’m scared of heights! It runs really smooth and there’s negative g force lifts you out of your seat in the last couple hills. It’s so fun

Just ridden it for my first time ever today!!!!! It’s so much fun. I was afraid for the first hill and that’s it. But my friend forced me onto it and it was fun. Then first hill is the best actually. So face your fears and you can overcome anything.

I just did this ride today and I was really scared but I had a thrilling blast 8)
Aight story time:
So I had never been so six flags, and the most "extreme" ride I've ever ridden was probably Rock n rollercoaster at Disney. I was there on a class trip with my friends, and we had literally just got there and we stumble upon the ride. We didn't play no games, we didn't buy no snacks, just straight to the big ride. I was like "ok, it doesn't go upside down so I'll be fine." I'm nervous at the front of the line, but I keep telling myself I won't be scared while trying not to look like a huge loser to the strangers in line. When I sat down (and if you've ridden it you know those seats are deep) I'm like "oh boy". We climb the lift hill, and it just keeps going. I keep thinking "ok now we'll go down" but no. More height. I can see most of the park, then the trees, then basically the entire parking lot. But I mean at that point I can't get off. I couldn't tell where the drop was from where I was sitting. Endless suspense. Then we go. I'm screaming and probably cursing at this point. And there are just more and more drops and it just keeps going. At some point I couldn't even scream. When we got off my hair was all over the place, I was probably pale or green or something, and I felt like a changed person. Like I was forever different for getting on. I didn't ride anything else extreme though I didn't want to test fate some more. Did you actually read this? Yo that's pretty cool. Anyways the ride was fun but I'd never do it again.
