This is a great tutorial and I'm feeling confident about painting my new-to-me piano! Thank you for clarifying that this is a piano that actually gets played and not just a decor piece - That is my biggest fear that I will somehow damage it or make it unplayable or untunable somewhere along the painting process.
This helped me SOOO much! Thank you for posting this!! We’re paining ours just like this and I really needed someone who finally knew what they were doing! I took notes. THANK YOU!
This is the second video I've watched about painting a piano and neither one explained how you paint around the fancy name brand logo on the piano. Do you paint right over it? That would be shame. I like your brand of paint too. Good stuff!!
If you’re using your piano as a decoration and not an instrument, this is fine. But if your piano is in any way valuable or if you plan on playing and maintaining it, don’t paint it like this.
You can follow this video for a fun project on a cheap piano that you don't care about that much. If you have a piano with a nice brand and high quality, it is better to leave this a to professional. There are about 20 steps involved to complete a stunning piano finish.
Why, for heavens sake, you painters do not take the piano apart? It is do simple and you do not have to go around all those keys and pedals. I've never understood this. To take a piano apart you do not even need a screwdriver! And do not paint the hinges! This is ridiculous.
You know the keys are removable. The other parts of the piano are also easily removable it makes for a much cleaner job learn how to take some things apart before you paint them.
This is not ‘how to paint’ a piano. Piano is not a piece of furniture. Learn how to remove piano panels and fallboard. It’s not that difficult actually. You painted over keys and hinges and felts.
@@BGWhisperer I watched the video every seconds. Was verypainful. I’ve rebuilt and repaired many pianos. I’ve once refinished - not repaint - 80 year old grand piano with gorgeous walnut veneer. It took a month. There’s proper way to refinish musical instrument. And there’s knuckle head hack. This video shows the latter. I’m not expecting ‘artisan rebuild’ but if anyone uploads ‘how to’, they should at least learn how to do it properly. Again, it’s not that difficult to disassemble piano panels. If you don’t like legit criticism it’s your problem. I’m trying to help people here.

You make great videos but that’s not how to paint a piano 😺 you need to prep prep prep disassemble and absolutely spray and go with some hybrid or lacquer you should not brush or roll things like this there is a reason we have different products and different equipment .. a piano finish top of the line sprayed to perfection
Guys watch it 1.25 speed, really
That's not how you paint a piano. Now the pianotuner can't open it anymore, because you painted the separate parts together.
?
@@BGWhisperer you’re clueless
I agreed with you Dimitri , but this you tube you can find good and bad stuff
My gutted player piano was painted 50 years ago. Time to change the color, thanks for the demo and tips. 😊
BRILLIANT. Now I can convince my husband that this is doable. Thank you!!!

I just bought a used keyboard piano style with bench but the it’s black. I’m going to paint it white to match my furniture:)
Nice and thoroughly detail advice!
Did you paint the back of the piano?

Did you paint the back? I heard that is what affects the sound.
Thank you! Very beautiful! Your space is breathtaking. Subscribing now 😬

Taking it apart sounds like a lot of work.
Can you paint on vinyl or leather on a piano?
You know the keys are removable. The other parts of the piano are also easily removable it makes for a much cleaner job learn how to take some things apart before you paint them.
Thanks mansplainer.
Can anyone tell me how to remove the very front piece at the end of the keys?
Hi what model is your piano?
This is not ‘how to paint’ a piano. Piano is not a piece of furniture. Learn how to remove piano panels and fallboard. It’s not that difficult actually. You painted over keys and hinges and felts.
You obviously didn’t watch it.

Where are your candle holders from?
Tina R they are vintage. You can find similar ones at antique stores, antique malls, vintage fairs, or Etsy!

U have to paint the stool!
what have you done! jail for you
The piano should have been thrown away and replaced with a high gloss ebony finish. That looks cheap and disgusting
🙄 No it doesn’t.
