Just stumbled on this video . I just purchased a used dynamic boxer like this one but after some play test I got problems with the led panel starting to shut off and on repeatedly. This causes the game to stop taking credits and operating . When I shut it off and turn it back on I’ll get the game to boot and operate just fine a couple min . Then it starts shutting off again. When the panel shuts off the buttons are still lit and the bill acceptor is still lit green . So in short I’m pretty sure I need to replace the power supply as the board works fine when it’s getting power. Long story short I’m new to learning how to fix games . Can you tell me what wires are what on the supply and how to wire up a new supply properly? I would appreciate any help from someone who knows these boxers . Great video and thanks for sharing!
I had an issue like that once, it ended up being that I had loose power wire in the moles pin that went to the main board. They get beat so much, that the wires will sometimes start to break. As long as you have proper voltage coming out of the power supply it should be good, check for broken wires or moles housings that become loos over time. You say it’s a dynamic so it’s a kalcomat game, it should be the same set up. When I get a chance I will do my best to get more info for you.
@@arcadezombie1975 sweet anything helps as I’m trying to learn how to fix games because if I’m running them a tech can be to expensive especially for us vendors dealing with so many games . The guy ran carnivals so it’s been in weather as far as humidity /moisture . I did notice on some solder joints on the back of the board there is rust and since there’s no battery near any of it I know it’s moisture damage . But it’s just in a few spots so I’m guessing I need to clean the board abit and maybe reflow joints. But until I get the new power supply this Tuesday and install it I won’t know further if the board is actually damaged . I got the new supply because this dynamic is an early 2000,s model so close to twenty yrs I think a supply change would not hurt any . I’ll check the connectors more closely especially the power connectors. Also yes it’s a kalkomat . The standard black one like in their website pics for the dynamic. I know a local distributor said the machines have not changed much over the yrs so the new dynamic looks identical to the early made ones . They’ve been in business less than 30 yrs I think so none are exactly ancient anyway lol. Hope to hear anything else in the future you can tell me about these
Boxer’s are great money makers, the bad thing and I don’t know this is a trend but I do notice boxer machines outside. They can hold up to weather but they are not meant for outdoors, but as you can see even we have ours outdoors. I must have replaced the main board 5 or 6 times in the years that we have had it, it is possible water may have damaged the board. I think they do a warranty exchange but you might need to go through a distributor. The game will make its money back, people love showing off to friends and loved ones. I will do my best to help you out.
@@arcadezombie1975 right on and yeah Shaffer distributing here in ohio close to me works with them and said if I needed to fix the board to not buy new as they are 1100 bucks . Instead they would send my board to kalkomat and that would be cheaper than spending 1100 . However I’m not sure what the repair cost would be or how I get charged for that. I never went that far in the conversation . So maybe I get charged for the repair or they just send a new one out for less . Since I got this second hand I have no warranty that I’m aware of
I did see boxers at my state fair this year and see them at other fairs too so I’d say it’s a thing. Now I did sit and watch one while it was dead but then one group at a time here and there would play a lot of rounds . Fairs seem to be a good spot and there is a lot of people all day walking through.
Hello, I've just got my hands on a kalkomat machine it's pretty much the same but curved.. however the middle pixels on the big digit is not on.. is there a way to fix this ?
Unfortunately i do not know of a way to fix the segments, i have tried to locate the number segments and i cannot find the correct size. As far as i know Kalkomat will not sell just the number segments. You will have to purchase the entire board but i do think they have advanced replacement. You will need to call a distributor for that.
@@arcadezombie1975 that's a shame yeah I've contacted the company, they offer a service of refurbishing the board... But it does come at at cost £250 I believe. Bit steep for what it is.
