Humans, an energy portal - let us pretend.

Let’s pretend that humans are energy portals. These portals bring energy in from another dimension. This portal has a set amount of energy “time”.
Now let’s imagine that personality is the filter for the way the energy is presented into the “world”. The personality is programmable.
Now let’s say that somebody wants to use 1000 of these humans energy output for a specific reason. They would need to program that personality to output energy in a specific manner.
Where does free will play into this? How does manipulation factor in? Should a person be able to decide how they present their energy output? Can a person be tricked into believing they chose a specific pattern of energy output?
