Vegetarian, gluten free, nutritious, hearty, and deeply satisfying!
The Recipe:
1 pound ripe tomatoes (whatever looks the best at the market)
1 pound tomatillos, husks removed
some neutral oil
salt
1 to 2 serranos (de-seed them if you want it milder)
2 garlic cloves, peeled
a bunch of cilantro
1 white onion, diced
corn tortillas
eggs
cooked black beans, warmed through
Preheat your broiler, or preheat the oven to the highest temperature. Place the tomatoes, tomatillos, serranos and garlic in a large mixing bowl. Toss them just lightly to coat in oil and a hefty pinch of salt.
Place them on a foil-lined sheet pan in a single layer and roast or broil, until they are blackened on top, then rotate the pan and flip the tomatoes and tomatillos. Return to the oven until they are charred but not mushy.
Using whatever you have that works, blend the tomatoes with half of the chiles, 1 garlic clove, a handful of cilantro leaves. Taste them for salt and then transfer them to a bowl.
Repeat the process, blending the tomatillos with the remaining garlic and serranos, a splash of water and a handful of cilantro leaves. Season to taste with salt and transfer them to a bowl.
Place a frying pan over medium heat and add enough oil to comfortably coat the the pan. Add half of the onions and fry them until they are soft and translucent. Add the tomato salsa and fry it until it is unified and simmering -- about 3 minutes. Season to taste with salt.
Wipe the pan with a towel and repeat the process with the remaining onions and then the tomatillo salsa, frying it until unified -- about 3 more minutes. Season to taste with salt.
Wipe the pan again and briefly fry up some tortillas in it with oil. Finally, fry two eggs per person until the whites are set and the yolks are runny. Lay them on a plate, scooping some beans next to them. Ladle one of each sauce over each egg. Serve with warm tortillas and eat immediately.

Freeze or refrigerate any leftover salsa for a much quicker breakfast next time.
So basically we now know, what’s basically the best breakfast option to get all the healthy nutrition you basically want for your body😉
As always, great video! Can’t wait to see what DPP has to offer next week🙌🏻
Basically party! My comments are getting right and wacky
Looks so good! Tasty and good for you - can’t ask for anything better for breakfast 🍳
Give it a whirl!
0:14 Custodia compartida great recipe! 😋
😍
This is so killer, Mr. Noah. Love love love love all these recipes - they're well thought out and presented in a way that's direct, fun, and easy to comprehend. It coheres!
Thank you!!! I really appreciate that!
Mondays are for populating the DPP room.
Get in there!
Found you from Josh at Mythical. Yeah he's weird, but you went with it and love you for it. Liked. Subscribed.
I prefer weird people. Welcome! Great to have you.
Love LOVE this video! Keep ‘em coming! Keep the slurpy sounds bc that’s life! 😂
Ha! New slurpy sounds every Monday!
I’m making this
Let me know how it turns out!
Great recipe Noah! We recommend making sure the ingredients are room temperature before blending them in the nutribullet.
But what if I’m in a hurry??? See…these are the things we could work on in a more collaborative setting.
@nutribullet SPONSOR HIM!!!
@@GoodMythicalMourning we need the money to keep Ben from neglecting his family by having to edit and shoot every single video by himself.
Oh mah gerd. I love this. Thank you for your content. This is basically the best. (also props to the camera man/editor)
Came here from the mythical kitchen and I will surely come again.
Thank you! Ben is the best.
Oh that's awesome I'm so glad.
Basically, this is a great breakfast dish
Basically breakfast party
Noah rules!
That is very kind of you to say.
This looks so good. Now I have to go buy groceries so I can make breakfast this weekend. I'm so hungry now.
please do! I hope you like it!
"bean 'em up, eat 'em up" , "real medium, not like fake medium" and "let's get divorced folks". This looks good!
Lol
Considering the love of beans, any chance we will see a full-english breakfast on here?
Ooh that’s a good idea
I think I know what's for breakfast tomorrow!
I love making too much salsa and then freezing or just saving it. Then it’s such a quick breakfast every time you want it.
@@dontpanicpantry It's the best practice when it comes to (most) sauces, in my opinion. I always make "too much" pasta sauce and freeze the excess. Pesto, Napoletana, Arrabbiata, and (since your video) "Scrittore" sauces are all made in large batches that are frozen for future use... and usually, the future isn't far off!
Hands down, best statement ever by Noah: Oooh, that's a tart little boy!
Hahaha
People need to eat more beans. Especially for breakfast. Beans, eggs, toast, avocado and tamales is a breakfast I ate a lot last year.
We are a fiber-deficient country. Eat more beans!
@@dontpanicpantry I poop so good 😊
One of our local taquerias includes a small steak between the eggs, Mmmmmm.
Not opposed to that!
"I want a nice over easy" next clip is a nice, fried sunny side up lol🍳
Oh god that’s embarrassing. But I made it how I like it!
This looks great! (+ salsas to have ready for whenever!) Question: I’m not terribly well-versed on vegetarian/vegan whatnot, but can a dish be considered vegetarian when eggs are included?
Some vegetarians clarify they are ovo-lacto vegetarians which means they eat eggs and milk products. If not eating any animal products, that’s vegan.
Some people might disagree but to my mind eggs and dairy are vegetarian but not vegan
Yeah. I tend to agree. Ovo-lacto takes too long to say and usually leads to even more questions
Thank you both for the clarification!
Pro tip: Don't slurp so loudly or smack your mouth like that (or at least have the decency to edit out the sounds); it's not only extremely bad table manners, it's bad presentation for your video.
Our first negative comment! That's how I know this show is really starting to find its groove.
Hey pro tip buddy you ever seen mythical kitchen? Mythical chef josh slurps down slices of kraft cheese... They have millions of subs 😋 Plus if you go to a Ramen places and don't slurp that's where the bad table manors are 😜 #TEAMSLURP
@@dontpanicpantry Pro tip: Just enjoy your fucking food.
