The real reason is because average Americans where getting to speak to average humans beings around the world and lord forbid even make friends and learn that most of what the media told us was a lie was a big danger to the elites control
I think the biggest reason for this is anxiety got worse in Covid, I talk in games that need teamwork; but whenever I'm in a game like COD I mute people, since like 90% of them are all people that tell me to die
Totally agree, sometimes it's funny to listen in on those crazies, but when it's children screaming at the top of their lungs I gotta mute. Still I'd like the console makers to let us opt-in or out depending on our vibe for the day 😎

Developers have wanted us to socialise for years but we are now seeing more and more restrictions/privacy etc. One of the main reasons is guidelines from law enforcement and governments to combat online predators. It's just the world we live in.
I’m not a big fan of VR. Sat for months at a time. Then my friend from Australia, who I met gaming back in the day, picked up a VR headset. Of course being in the US having a chance to high five my Aussie bro I jumped on VRChat. I don’t think VR is going to replace traditional gaming. But it did make me think of the old days of “anyone got a mic” with everyone talking. Hoping public talking comes back to the norm. It’s always the same friends in a closed chat.
Your channel popped out of nowhere, but your editing skill are up there and you have a fun way of telling things. You've earned my sub and you're gonna get a lot more!
Hey man, I just wanna say I strongly agree with you, the message must reach the people. Gaming feels so dead these days, hell, when you fired up Halo 2, I got a big rush of nostalgia, yet, sorrow. Gaming nowadays, is nothing more than a souless husk, of it's former self. It doesn't have to be this way either.
We already have discord. It is the solution to the old problem of most people just being assholes. And don't even try to pretend otherwise because most interaction with randoms is negative. Discord solved this problem but created another one, anyone who isn't on the correct discord will think the game is silent when in fact, everyone is talking, just not to you. Plus sometimes people wanna talk shit, this is so much better since you to get to talk shit with other people but the one you're talking about never hears it.
Most people weren't just being a-holes. The whole reason I signed up for xbox live back in the day was because of all the funny stories my buddy told me about voice chat. Most people were just being silly and goofing around. And we already had the solution to people being a-holes, it was called the mute button. Or as I liked to do, sharpen my wit/social skills by verbally sparring and trying to embarrass them. Which I am grateful I had the opportunity to do, as it taught me the valuable life skill of how to deal with a-holes IRL verbally instead of physically. And if you want to talk trash and not have the other person hear it, you just mute your mic. None of this sounds better. It might be better for preserving social anxiety, which I am guessing you suffer from. But preserving social anxiety is not a good thing. I am glad I had xbox live back in the day to practice my social skills, otherwise I would probably have social anxiety as well.
there was a game called PROJECT REALITY, it was sort of MIL-SIM where everyone is MUST have microphone and to use it, that was unreal COMMUNITY and IMMESTIVE experience, check this game while it still have like 2 servers

Your story narrative and the idea execution is absolutely killer. Good looks man, I subbed and hope I can draw some form of inspiration from your content. You deserve far more than 20k subs
I remember playing gears with my Canadian homie SlimJim69 on the original xbox. Dude was crazy and funny as hell. One time we gamed till the morning and he had a hockey game to play like 30 minutes before we got off 💀😂. Good times 😎.
Good video and you're 100% correct. I was an OG Xbox Live gamer on the OG system. My games of choice were Rainbow Six 3, the Ghost Recons - including all the sequels and .5's (kinda like an expansion pack, but a whole new campaign and minor tweaks to the gameplay *see Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow, Ghost Recon Island Thunder, and Ghost Recon 2 Summit Strike) and of course Halo 1 and 2 (yes, you can make Halo 1 go online via xbconnect). Most people were in chat - the quality was sketchy, but it worked for the most part. If you weren't in chat, the room host would likely boot you. You could talk in pregame and to your own team in game depending on what mode you were playing (most people played Team Survival - 8v8 Red vs Green teams). There was no proximity chat though. Also, DLC a was free map and a 3 map pack that cost you around $1. You didn't get the impression Ubisoft was milking you for money and it was more of a thank you to the fans who enjoyed their game. I feel the 360 generation's voice chat went a little too crazy without proper moderation and it turned a lot of people off of using a mic. Today it's even scarcer due to the horror stories of the past which is ironic because moderation is stronger than ever now. I don't think voice chat will ever come back as developers now implement button macros that you don't even a mic to communicate.
Proximity chat in Cod 4 Modern Warfare was legendary. The eavesdrop perk created many fun experiences playing search and destroy while people on both teams had the perk active.
I think the problem is Discord. I always prefer being on Discord with my friends even though we are not playing the same game atm. But damn you made me miss those prelobbies days !
