That sounds like a good idea. It's easy to go down so many rabbit holes with this hobby. I get scattered easily and end up with a bunch of bits and pieces of projects I never get done. I think it will be a good idea for me to focus on my childhood windows 98 pc and maybe an XP dream machine.
argh.. you see I've got a zx81 and a 48k rubber keyed speccy, I had a +3 back in the day as well, but until I saw yours on the desk, in all it's glory, I had dismissed getting one for my collection.. now I'll have to. you git.. lol
haha sorry for dragging you down with me. I was the same. Thought I'd only need the Amiga Batman pack, and then I saw an Electron on another channel, and a +3 on another, and just "needed" to have them again lol.
Perfect combo. Out of interest, did you find going from the c64 to an Amiga a giant leap or not so much? I know us spectrum owners were blown away by the Amiga, but many c64 owners were hesitant to "upgrade". Interested in your input.
@@005AGIMA I remember being blown away going from the Spectrum to the NES. There was a larger palette, no colour clash and instant cart loading. Mind blown. ;-)
Happy New Year Chris! Great to see your BIG 3 (AMIGA 500, ZX Spectrum & Acorn) getting some love again. I am looking forward to your 2024 videos. Best wishes. 🍻🥂
Happy New Year! Focusing on the micros for which you hold the most passion is a great move imho. I love channels where the UA-camr's love and enthusiasm for their subject shines through. Great desk setup by the way! Wish I had the space.
Happy New Year mate. Just playing games is absolutely perfect. I don't buy tons like some people do....always looking for quality over quantity. I'm hoping to retire in 5 years, that's when I'll start to attack the backlog.....watch this space😂
Sounds like a good plan! Nostalgia is a fickle thing though: I owned a CPC464 and an A500 (Batpack) but also have very fond memories of playing on family and friends' computers too: Electrons, Plus 3s, 48k Speccies, Vic 20, Intelivision, a 386 PC, not to mention the school BBC! If I had to pick just one I'd probably go PC because of the versatility but it's a tough call!
Yep i hear you. I think that's why I "needed" an Atari 2600 even though I never owned one. What I didn't "need".....was 4 of them....but here we are lol.
Looking like Retro Mission Control there. Have to say I have tiers, or more correctly eras, of machines which seem to coexist together, so all the 8 bits live together (ZX81, VIC20, Tandy Color Computer 2 and Commodore 64c), the 16 Bits have their corner and then there’s everything 32 Bit and upward everywhere else. I did think of buying into ‘8 bits I wanted but never got to own’ though in the end it would have just been extra clutter, so if it ain’t lurking in the garage I’m not buying it. Instead this year is going to be ‘Sega year’ where I expand my Saturn and Dreamcast libraries beyond old favourites. On the repair front I need to recap an A1200 and CD32. I think the big ‘new’ buy this year will be the Amiga Maxi whatever they end up calling it.
Happy New Year Chris! Great shout on the format for showing pickups 👍. Totally concur with RetroBear’s focus on playing over collecting. That speccy of yours is looking amazing.
This means you are pro now, with the youtube speech thingy! Happy new year! Kinda funny how this hobby is nostalgia driven, so it hurt when others shelves their A1200. For me my main nostalgia trip is with the A1200 and the A4000 (even though I had the A500 as well). The A1200 and A4000 was my teens so that stick the most for that reason I guess :) Cheers!
Follow your bliss my friend. Happy to tag along on the reg. You do you.
Thanks mate. Glad to have you on board.
Looking forward to the Speccy stuff matey 😎😎🍺🍺
Cheers matey. If they load of course lol.

Yep good to focus I think. Even if that then leads to new things later.

I've narrowed my "nostalgia" down to just the C64 & A500. The rest is nice to have, but not essential.👍

More gaming and some segways. I approve of this :)
Keep the Segways it doesn’t get more nostalgic than those… oh… segues……
haha yeah that one :D

Not nearly pompous enough, you disappoint me ☹️.
Look forward to more content mate, happy new year.
It's good to see you and love watching you with the three big games 🎮🎮🤘🤘

Sega Year you say? Wait till next week's video ;) lol. I "need" a Megadrive haha.
Russ has lit a fire for this year, and I'm on board 😎👍 2024 the Year of the Game 🍻
Year of the Game. I like it :)
#PlayMoreIn24 ....there you go @TheRetroBear
