- Another new button alert! Billi's on a roll. ⠀
.⠀
The new puzzle feeders opened up a word to model that a number of other pets using the buttons already have, but that I had never seen the opportunity for me to model for Billi before now. ⠀
.⠀
She picked it up so fast, I almost got whiplash 😹⠀
.⠀
As a sidenote, Billi seems perfectly capable of getting all of her food out if her feeders if I leave for work, but if I stay home while she uses them she miraculously forgets how to use them 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️⠀
.⠀
.⠀
.⠀
Billi is a female domestic shorthair, she's 12 years old, her favorite word is mad. Inspiration from Hunger4Words (check her out on IG).

I feel like the 'help' button will be more of a 'Mom do this for me' button soon LOL
You’re not wrong 😂
It's not a help button, but an order button.
For kids these are the same things
Right, I saw that detail in the description notes 😂 Though it's much like a child asking for help when you're around, so sweet 💕
😁
She managed to learn a new button in one day? I'm impressed
Me too!
🤯
She must've already had a good grasp on the word.
I think Billi gets the concept of words and getting what she needs/wants so she has so much motivation to learn.
@@BilliSpeaks I find it interesting that Billi says "Look Food" at the beginning and then you bring her the thing and say "Look Food" several times.
Did you two agree that the puzzle feeders are called "Look Food"?
I can't wait for "Mom Help Food Now"
It’s coming.
@@BilliSpeaks just reply "mom help food soon" and let her try first at least
Mom. Mad. Help. Mad. Food. Mad. Now. Mad.
Low key, she is conducting one of the world’s most important research - getting into the mind of a cat. I feel like that deserves an award or something.
Me too! Someone should send them one asap
Doctorate in Veterinary Psychology
At least a Ted talk would be amazing. She could call it "How mad is my cat on a scale of 10 to 10?"
"one of the world's most important research" are you serious? there are way more important things to research than cats. I think you are exaggerating a bit.
@@velvet3302 you must be really fun at parties
This has made me look at my cat differently and pay far more attention to her and her needs. Thanks Billi and Kendra!
🤗🤗🤗😻
A lot more cuddles. I think she likes all the extra attention. 😺🙂
:3
This is starting to make me think animals are way more intelligent than we give them credit for just because they don't have the ability to speak like we do.
I think it's a mix of underestimation of animal intelligence and an underestimation of just how much "training" equals "intelligence". Like, if you boil it down enough, most things most people do is things they're taught, and that's all basically just a really complicated version of the Clever Hans problem. At some point you need to draw a line, but where exactly is it when for all intents and purposes nature works on a gradient there?
Cats have the learning capacity of a 3 year old child and they are amazing at hunting and spatial sense. We just need to learn how to listen to their language which Kendra clearly has done with Billi
Same goes for non-speaking humans.
Here in the US, our current president stroked the face of a college student after the student asked him a serious political question.
Why would anyone do that, you ask? Because the student asked using a speech board rather than vocal chords.
Deaf/hard-of-hearing people who communicate using sign experience similar discrimination. Harder to graduate school, harder to get a job. Hard to get cashiers and waitstaff to serve you.
Abled humans privilege speech generated by vocal chords and expressed through the mouth as THE ONLY measure of intelligence.
@@deyesed Ah, but all human 3 year olds have different learning abilities. I've met some that can't speak or even really understand words. I've met others that speak better then 10 year olds and have a understanding of semi complex physical engineering things and understand complex emotions.
@@OgdenM I think she means the average 3 year old here 🧐
I think she’s been waiting for that button to materialize.
"Help"
"What's wrong, Billi?"
*presses Little Timmy fell down the well button*
"again? Mom help Timmy later 😒"
😆
Meanwhile Timmy in the well: "Mad."
This comment thread is something else
Billi: “Timmy, Ouch!”
Bunny: “Timmy, Friend?”
@@m.m.i.9586 You follow both too, huh? 😂
200 IQ move. Cat gets human to add "do this for me, slave" button, or as the humans call it, "help"
I'm looking forward to the "help mad" button combination
Aahahahaha, that's too funny, I can't 🤣
@@Kitty-mb4hy well all know it's going to happen 😂
Soon!
Billy: help
Kendra: later
Billy: mad
😂😂😂
“Help Mad” = “Help me regulate my feelings mom!!”
the therapy combo
"My human has recently switched to feeding me using items that require me to perform certain manual tasks before I have access to anything edible. It has proven to be somewhat challenging and certainly frustrating. However, I suddenly had a revelation that I could use these communication buttons she has taken to speaking to me through to encourage her to complete them using her clever digits, rather than struggle with what is my admittedly lesser dexterity. This should prove to be a better use of my time."
😂
I read this in Ze Frank's voice.
@@moopdrive Ah, I see you're a Sports Racer of culture.
😸
I suspect she’ll chill with the “mad” button now that there is a help button
Ohhh, she'll still use her favorite button, don't you worry.
Snow??? HELP!!!
Billi: *is not helped quickly enough*
Billi: "Mad"
I wonder how you'd model something more abstract, like "Word".
If Billi knows "Help" and "Word" that'd enable her to tell Kendra exactly when she just doesn't have a button or knowledge of how to say a specific thing. I feel like one could expand her vocabulary exponentially after that... Although this is probably taking up a lot of space on Billi's Wetware, so there's gotta be an upper limit somewhere I guess.
Maybe a "button" button
This makes me think of how many cats are suffering from understanding their owners but the owners not understanding them back.
Well, I understand my indoor cats pretty good .
Most of them.
@@obikinwinchester6235 yeah for me there was a moment when my cat's body language and facial expressions clicked and I immediately knew how he felt.
I’ve thought this. Being around English for that long, me and my bf believe my Atlas can at least understand us to an extent, we just can’t understand him. I wish we could, I wanna try to teach him the buttons at some point
Giving Billi food play toys basically called Billi's bluff on the whole "let's play with food". She never wanted more toys just more food lol.
I hope you get the parking ticket resolved
Edit: ah, I see, that was the TV show you were watching. I hope the character's client gets the parking ticket resolved...
😂😂 they did! Happy ending all around!
😂
Hahaha this and the edit made my day :D:D
I wonder if it's not just that she wants help but more "I want to do it with you, though." Or even, "I don't see you do this, so you should get to play with it too." Especially since she seems to be quite the momma's girl
Awww maybe!!!
That's a good question!
But then she might say "Mom play" as well 😀
HI AROACE FRIEND
“...if I wait long enough and look cute, mom will open it and give me the food....”
This makes me think she waits for new words she already knows to be added. She seems to have a very strong grasp of sentence structure already. I wonder how many words Billi actually knows.
I get so excited with each video that I have to give my boyfriend updates on how billi is doing...now whenever he hears your voice he asks what the new development is
😂😂
I love this so much lmao
Such a wholesome comment ❤️
Billi looks like she's in a perpetual state of shookedness.
She cant help it if she's got Resting Shook Face.
Billi mastered "Help" in 1 day! Billi: Why are you all so surprised? This was the button I needed instead of "Mad".
This! She already knew the word, she just didn't have the button.
Haha I couldn’t help but smile at the glee in your voice in the 2nd part of the clip when Billi used the help button asking for assistance with her puzzle such a proud mom moment & so sweet.🥰🥰 Billi went from “mad, mad, mad” to coming up with a game all by herself (food play)& expressing her love/gratitude when you give her something she’s asked for what an amazing transition she’s made so proud of you Princess Billi👑😻(you too mom😂)you guys have an amazing bond. Thank you for sharing your girl with all of us Billi makes me laugh & smile when I need it most it’s so appreciated.🤗🤗💖💖
I was so proud 😹😹 you’re welcome! Thanks for watching us grow 🤗
@@BilliSpeaks Aww of course you 2 are always such a pleasure to watch keep spreading the Billi joy, love & laughter.😻😻🤗🤗
It’s probably a familiar word you have used before while helping only now Billie gets to use it too. It’s wonderful seeing her vocabulary broaden with some useful verbs to expand utterances. Such a clever girl
That's great Billi! When my cats need an assist (finding a toy, reaching for something), I ask if they need "hep". They've learned so much from that, they make a "hep" meow when they really need me. So fun to teach them & hear them use it!
Just like that, another word added to the vocabulary
Dont ya mean vo-cat-bulary? ;p
I can just imagine someone being over at your house...
Billi stares right into their eyes: “help.”
I thought you needed help and you uploaded this i was scared for a second

Sentence formation incoming.... “Help,” food x 2. Later, Billi. Mad.... mad!! 😹
Im so happy for you in how proud yoi were of her. I can never look at any animal the same. So beautiful to see this!. Thank you to the both of you for your amazing relationship.
So. Proud. 😂 you’re welcome! Thanks for watching 🤗
Billi is so clever, learning a button in just a day is incredibly impressive! These videos always brighten my day!
Billi has one of the most beautiful color combinations in her fur. With her sweet face she is ready n set to take advantage of anyone who underestimates her intelligence.♡
Wow! she learns so quickly!
You taught your cat the concept of getting help in like a day, meanwhile I struggle to teach my cat to sit for treats (something my sister has done with three cats so far). Really goes to show who's smart here... the cats are, we're the ones having trouble understanding them!
Wow! She is catching on to new buttons so fast!
That title got me worried there!
This is so cool! And I really appreciate you captioning all your videos! Makes it much easier than if I had to put on my headphones just to hear the words clearly!
Seems like she's training you now. 😂
Billi is gorgeous up close. Look at those eyes😻😻
Ahh, she really just wants to play WITH YOU, not with just an inanimate object!
and this, my fellow cats, is how to domesticate humans.
😂😂😂
Just wanna say I found this channel last night, and I've already binged all your videos. This is by far my favorite channel. It reminds me of old UA-cam :)
Hmm wonder if now have "help" we will see less "mad" - she is SO smart picking this one up so quickly - hopefully can communicate better rather than just bring "mad" & frustrated
This is incredible! I've only recently started watching your videos, and I find it intriguing and impressive that Billi can communicate rather well her thoughts and needs. Kudos to the trainer. Very well done!
My dog communicates by litterally pulling me places in a way so if he wants me to pet or follow him he will use his paw to pull my arm and if im standing he either nips at me, lays on my feet or jumps on me to get my attention.
He learned shake in one day and has been doing it to communicate ever since and i couldnt be more proud
Amazing how quickly she learnt this one. I suppose because she needed it
Motivation is a great motivator 😋
I'm not surprised she took to the help button so fast! You seem to ask her "Do you need help?" very casually as a way to figure out her needs and requests. If she knows the sound of it and when you use it, she could figure out fairly easily when its a good word choice. Billi is extremely clever and I don't doubt her little mind is absorbing everything you say in preparation for new buttons!
Considering watching Billi, and what they are doing at Neuralink, it's mind blowing to think talking animals like in UP could really be a thing. Squirrel will probably become the most popular word in the world. That or mad.
I can't believe she got the new button in one DAY. I've been working with my two cats for months on the "play" button and though they obviously understand it (when I press it talking to one of them, the other comes ZOOMING out of wherever they were napping) but i haven't gotten them to push it on purpose yet Q_Q there have been nose pushes in the process of receiving pets, and accidental step-upons, which i've tried to reinforce with immediate play activity but.... no dice!!!
UGH billi teach my children your hunger to communicate verbally XD mine are like "I shall drag my toy from wherever it was and drop it in your lap, and thus you shall know I wish to play"
Theyre still communicating. Iv read that its useful to clicker or target train them to be able to touch the button first then you can work on them pushing it
😭 Billie is such a good kitty. Such a good girl. I love her so much! 😭
Asking someone else to do something for you is pretty clever.
Billi’s intelligence gets me every single video!
And that face! Who could say no to that beautiful, innocent, sweet face?!
Mom's like if you are under this roof you gotta earn your food😁
Honestly I found this channel last night and I already can't picture any other way to raise my cats in the future 😂
She’s so cute
SHE
Sadly, Billi is a girl, but yes, she is cute
@@Stella_Mochi ah sorry
@SørenCast Z I guess sadly since she got it wrong? Haha
@SørenCast Z Because, myself have called Billi a boy before reading the description!
I find myself just clapping at whatever you teach her. It's just amazing. It makes my whole day
🤗🤗
"Help" will become, "ATTENTION, MOM!!!" eventually, I just know it.
I have just found this channel and I am not at all disappointed
Omg I love Billi’s sweet face! She’s so smart😁 So far my cat seems to understand when I press our kitty food button, but he doesn’t want to press it himself. I’m hoping soon he will! How long did it take Billi to press her first button after you introduced them?
It took her over 3 weeks, and I e talked to people who’s learner took months to press. Stick with it 🤗
Omg, she asking for help 😭😭 so cute!!
We got to witness the inclusion of a new word, it's meaning and application! She clearly has now a grasp of how the button system helps her be understood and being aware of the different situations.
Thank you for sharing this with us! It's always a joy! 😄
She is extraordinary, absolutely extraordinary!!! She made my day! A new word for her!!! 👍🐕❤️🐕🥳
Hot dayum, that was a fast pick-up. I mean, I guess it makes sense that she'd pick it up quickly; wild animals do frequently seek out help from humans, so it's probably a pretty well-ingrained concept from the start.
She sure learned it fast. That's how smart she is.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love you guys!!!!!!!
Can i just clone billi so i can have my own smart kitty? A fan meeting with billi is fine as well! 🥰🐱🐱🐱
Bahaha, I love that you started this as entertainment and slowly it is turning into her needing more and more buttons to adequately express herself.
We only use body language and words/meows in our house and all of this footage is REALLY helping me understand my cat as I see those same expressions.
Thank you so much for really adding some wonderful research.
I know! I never imagined we’d be at this stage, it’s mind blowing. I just wanted to give her some new enrichment 😂
So glad the videos are helpful though!
I wonder how much context of things Billi understands more and more around the house when observing her parents (/owners/friends) :D
To husband: "Do you want help making food?"
Billi _"Ah hah"_
Reminds me of the study that adult dogs learn give up and request help from their human. Billie knows how to manage her resources!
Omg those gorgeous green eyes and that beautiful, sweet face! How could anyone ever deny her anything??? Such a sweetheart!!!
Billy in the future: "i could do this myself"
Also Billy in the Future: *presses "HELP" 15 times*
If my cat had that button, he would be sitting before the full food bowl asking to be fed from my hand XD
Participation medal got me loled
My cat only knows one word “No” when she’s going to do some bad things if I say no she’ll stop😹😹😹
1:51 omgosh she's sooo stinking cute!!
The best addition to the button collection besides mad
Very cool to see how you introduce a new button. Maybe the edges of that feeder are painful on her paws? I could imagine that. One of my cats would wolf down his food as a kitten so I got them a Stimulo feeder to slow him down, it’s his main food bowl, it has round tubes of different heights. (I had to get the other a feeder that opens by chip, he was losing weight while the ‘overeater’ was really getting overweight, it worked so well! They’re both at a good weight now)
Showed my wife some videos here. Been watching Billie's progress for a while. All this time you have had the embroidered cat, and I just tonight figured out that it is a silhouette of a cat giving the bird. LoL
Yay a new button! It is so neat to see the progression
I just got my buttons yesterday. 1 of my 5 cats and not the one I was expecting figured it out right away. The I thought would get it the quickest pressed the button once and was like, "I don't think I like it." one wanted to play with it but couldn't get her to actually press it and the other two I couldn't get to interact with it at all.
Make sure to let us know if they start teaching one another!
What a smart girl! She learned that one so fast!
I can't believe how smart she is!
I swear this gets better and better.
I bet she has nightmares retrieving her food like that.
watching billi videos is literally the highlight of my day 😭 I love her so much ❤️
What an amazing kitty-cat! And she is absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

Wow she learned that help button quickly!
Too much cuteness and cleverness in one short video! Way to go, Billi! Good job, Mom!
