Note that it's possible to find the "Taiyo Mako" for sale if you're lucky. It's a ship that's close to the showroom model, but there are some differences, notably the engines. I was never able to find it for sale at the places that some people have found it at though.

Yeah, the sales randomize, when I worked this out I just kept reloading the dame until the ship I was looking for appeared in the list, in my case the Dragon II.
She is a beauty I like small and fast. So I can back out of trouble quicker than I got into it. Mine will have weapons disruptor 3300 and disruptor 3300a two of each for starters. Thanks for sharing this build.
I’ve built this twice already. It’s a fun little ship. I substituted a few parts for their more powerful counterparts tho, and used an Osiris 2040-B Shield instead. It has the same look as the Marduk.
Thank you! Just looked it up - and yes, the Spacer Raccoon looks to be pretty close indeed. Different engines, fuel tanks, shield, and paint job though. And it actually has weapons, too. I've never seen that one for sale either, nor encountered it in combat. Do you remember where you've run into it?
I@@GuidosGaming I see it pretty much everwhere. Sometimes it lands. on planets when you hear that bang in the sky when you first land on a planet!. Usually I'm pretty upset to see it because im looking for a C class ship lol! Other times they will try to loot you for vacation money in space. One graunteed way to see and possible board one is the Starfield: Failure to Communicate mission.
Thanks for the info! Have seen all kinds of ships land, but no Spacer Raccoon yet! I tend to mostly run into Ecliptic landing on planets somehow. Still need to do the mission you mentioned, will make sure to check it out soon!
Spacer raccoon is the spacer version of the combat variant of the showroom floor display, the closest you can buy is the taiyo mako, versions up to mk III from veronica depending on RNG, but all of them are armed and have slight differences. i ended up buying the mako and later making a version of it from each manufacturer, the diemos "totally not a mako copy" looked the best.
Great video! I fell in love with this ship when I saw the model and wanted to make one for myself. You've made my work so much easier. I hope you get to design your modified version, I look forward to seeing it.
This doubles as a great first build video. Very easy to follow and you don't have to invest a fortune to make it. Thank you for making such an ace video! 🙂👍
This was the exact ship I saw during the trailer in a scene but it was a diff color ! And I said I want it ! And I’m glad you felt the same and show how to make it ! 🙌
Love this video id just like to add that i used this as my way to repurpose the frontiers unique hab. Big fan of the minimalist style great job showing everyone how to make this awesome work of art.
LOL, thanks, but I've got Heller on the ship as well. Also, there's a quest related reason Barrett isn't here, and I'd have Sam Coe in the ship more often if Cora didn't annoy me so much.
I saw it for sale this evening at the Taiyo office on Neon , where rayjun offices are , access via the lift. It was in the buy ships section after speaking to that woman, pretty sure it was a Mako II or something, price was around 450,000 credits if I remember, can’t check at the moment, console is off 👍
Yeah, the Taiyo Mako ship is very close to the showroom model, but I've never seen it being sold myself. I've even tried waiting/sleeping to see if the ships in stock update, but keep getting the same ships. 450K is insanely expensive though! I spent way less than that on the one I built in the video.
I had a look at it , it’s a Mako III , the engines are different from the model in the showroom, details as below in case you’re interested 👍 thanks for the build video 👍 Mako III Class A 30 LY - Range Shield - 1296 Crew - 4 Cargo - 533 Fuel - 140 Hull - 890 Reza 30 THz IR pulse Laser x 2 KE-31A Autocannon x 2 Infiltrator SC-02 Missile Launcher x 1 White dwarf 3030 Engine x 2 60S Protector Shield Generator R-400 Alpha Grav Drive Tokamak X-300 Reactor Cost - 247,000 credits Where? - Taiyo office , Neon , Rayjun Industries building , use the elevator in the lobby
I stole myself a Spacer Raccoon, doubled the engines on it, decorated it a little bit, pit a slim docker on the bottom, and put 4 class B electron beams on it. Its similar in size to this, has 699 hull and absolutely destroys everything
Also, if I were to modify this I would put 3015 class A engines, the fastest ones in the game. I would make it specifically a class A ship to make it the fastest.
Same, however i'd go for the SA-4330 Engines, as you can keep the look more similar by using 4 angled versions. Of course the reactor needs to change for that too, but that's not a problem, it should do well with the 30 - power class A reactor (can't remember the name atm).
Not yet, but you can use any weapons you like - some weapons are objectively better than others, but a lot of it is personal preference as well. I mostly made this one because I like how it looks, and for the challenge of building it. I'm using another ship (heavily modified Kepler R) most of the time, because I've got way more cargo than this ship can hold. And I'm working on another ship right now that is going to be specialized for combat - video coming soon!
Lol - I just went to her to build this ship and she has 39 ships for sale, one of them is the Mako II, another the Mako, which looks very similar. Saves me the effort I suppose, if not taking away some of the fun!
Wow, 39 ships? Every time I try it's only the same 5 ships, and I haven't found a Mako yet. Are you really high level or something? I'm wondering if some of the ships being sold are level-locked. But yeah, definitely easier to get a Mako and convert it than to build it from scratch.
@@GuidosGaming level 50 now. She usually has the same five or seven ships for me too, plus some of what I've sold her recently. I felt like I'd unlocked something, as with this character I've just been boarding spacers and stealing their ships and selling them, so I go to her a lot.
I wonder if it's a bug, as I just went to Deimos to check how many they have for sale, and it's a measly four. Oh also, I should have read all of the other comments before I commented saying that same thing! I was too excited I guess lol!
Ever wondered what it'd feel like to closely recreate a car from SEMA Show? This is your answer Edit: Also why do I hear the Tayo theme song in my head? Edit 2: Also how about you do the Deimos showroom model next? Too bad it's all white instead of the Taiyo Sardine's fully colored model, but i'm sure you can figure out which components go where
Nice! Yeah I just love the look (Taiyo ships are the best looking ships IMO), and it's a pretty fast too! This is my 'fancy sports car' so to speak. But you can go way faster still. I just built a ship that does about twice the speed of this one, and built specifically for combat! So much fun to fly. Video on that coming soon by the way!
@@GuidosGaming I upgraded some parts: A-class Ion Beam H-1030 reactor, R-4000 Grav Drive, 60S Protector Shield, 4 White Dwarf 3030 Engines, 6 Vanguard Oblit-Autopros, and 2 Vaporizer 35MeV Auto Proton Beams. I had to add those flat utility mounts to the top of the engines to have all 6 Vanguard weapons. My top speed with boost is 933 cruise speed is 233 and my reactor is at 32 output because of perks and a crew of 6. My mass is only 618 so I can stop from full speed in just a couple seconds making it really easy to get behind ships for attacks.
The Spacer Raccoon is close! Different engines, fuel tank, shield, and color. So if you can find one, it's easy to convert that to get the Taiyo showroom model - if that's what you want.

After playing for 440+ hours I totally agree with you about not storing 1000s of mass in cargo on your ship. The game seems to have issues with loading on planets when your ship is carrying so many objects. That said, having everything in that box at the lodge can lead to issues as well. It seems as if the game has to do some kind of inventory check when you load into an area that stores 1000s of items. I would suggest picking a planet or moon that you don’t need to visit often and start a base to store and upgrade your gear.
