Man...this was interesting. I'll be honest, when this first popped up, I was...disappointed. Thought "Eh, probably going to skip that one," to myself. Then I caught Niko's outro on the Corridor Crew video where they make the title card and some VFX shots for Logan. Figured it can't hurt to give the guy a chance. And...I'll be honest. I'm still not a fan of Logan. Still don't even necessarily like him. But...I can respect and understand him a bit more. Being able to be honest about yourself, admit that you fucked up, that you have blind spots and can do dumb things without realizing the consequences...That takes a level of maturity. I hope the guy continues to grow. I'd honestly be happy if one day I could look at Logan Paul and go, "huh, look at that. He's made himself into a good role model." I also think he can do it, if he applies himself.

Remember, the hate he's getting in many ways is similar to the hate pewdiepie used to get for his screaming personality. (Not trying to equate the two, obv the japanese story was a bigger fuckup) And now he's such a different content creator. I'd be happy to see the same with Logan.

I will say, I don't think it's right to judge anyone for hearing an opinion and being willing to research and discuss it. I am in agreeance with Niko on that hearing is not agreeing and to be well rounded and grow, it's good to hear multiple sides. Thank you Corridor cast for this podcast.
Although I still may not be a fan of Logan Paul based upon his demeanor on this podcast, it helped me understand him more and to hear his side of the story rather than just hearing general opinions on the internet and being disassociated with him due to it. And I can make my own conclusions upon hearing first hand Logan Paul's opinions and stories.
I think Logan Paul is aiming for a good direction, but we will see how he develops in the coming years.
I wish the best on his journey to better himself and hope he can mature as an individual and as an influencer on social media platforms.

@@megatto691 You may be right, but everyone has to start somewhere. There are consequences for actions people choose to do, but it doesn't mean they shouldn't try to become better.
Personally, I think there are some actions that Logan says he will do in the future that I do not agree with, however he did speak on other things he wishes to improve that I do think will be good for his personal growth and for the viewers he influences.
Ultimately what concerns me the most is the effect on culture he has on younger demographics that follow his content. Logan improving and maturing is not just for him but for the millions that closely follow and agree with him.

From what I can tell, I think that he is playing a role at all times. He is playing the game above peoples heads and lying to them. Part of it is that he believes those lies, but I think it should be noted that he didn't know empathy until recently, in his own words. That is a sign that he didn't care what it took to be successful and potentially Sociopathic.

Denial is really powerful. Someone that's in full denial stage about their dog dying, you could fully get the dog's corpse and show it to them, and they'd still find a way to keep denying it.
I don't remember where it's from, but i heard a quote 'You can't logic someone out of a hole they didn't logic themselves into'.

This is really interesting because Logan is definitely a different person this year than he was last year. Everyone evolves, but sometimes we're stuck in that facade where we have to live up to this expectation of what people want us to be. Sometimes if we pretend we're what everyone else wants us to be, we'll end up believing it our self. Logan is clearly aware of why someone may not like him or his content, but he also just wants to entertain. He's trying to live his dream while entertaining, but the responsibility that comes along with that isn't always a clear path to controlling that, and when there are so many people waiting to pounce on you whenever you make a mistake you can either break down or toughen up and ignore them. Logan is pushing through and trying to continue his life doing what he loves while making sure he doesn't let the haters get to him, even if there is some real concern for him.
People are complicated, and he's young. I'm young. If every mistake I made was caught on camera and watched by millions of people every day I'd have some pressure building up as well. It's cool that he sat down to be real in his own way with you guys. Even if someone puts up a face, eventually they'll let it fall down and let their true self slip into the conversation which he did try to do while still maintaining his persona. Thanks for interviewing him and thanks for being so respectful to him regardless of the controversy around him. Great video. Awesome podcast.

ChromeFXFilms This is an excellent response. I guess the flip side of the coin is, is that what he did over the last few years, with the body thing, the abuse, bullying, manipulating those twins with his brother, etc, kinda reaches far beyond what most/any 20-something would do with no remorse. Wether this is right or wrong, I believe he changed not because he finally realized what he is doing is wrong, but because everyone, and companies, were really trying to take him down, and his business and online presence was taking a hit. This is entirely my opinion, doesn't mean it's wrong or right, but yeah.

Parker Nguyen the mics look like Audio Technica cardioid condenser microphones from the AT40xx series. Around the mics themselves are some standard pop filters you can find on Amazon. It would also be worth looking into a proper audio interface that will connect the mic to your computer and provide phantom power to the condenser mic.
      Hope that helps

This was a really interesting podcast. I never watched anything Logan Paul related and only knew about the forest thing from reddit. At the time it just felt like any other vlogger/youtuber trying to make money and going too far in the process, not a psychopath like everyone else was saying. From this, he doesn't seem that bad. Just a very successful guy with a slightly immature mind. He is definitely very smart at creating the brand he is.

I'd say that is good since you do not want any guest to feel uncomfortable especially someone that is "controversial". I absolutely loved this podcast, and I normally don't like podcasts. This, though, felt like something different. It had this great theme and message of listening from someone, whom you may disagree with, and try to understand this perspective. Something that I believe that the internet, and people on Earth in general, need more of. From finding context to the video of the smirking "Make America Great Again" kid, to Logan Paul trying to understand why Flat Earthers believe what they believe, to perspectives and personalities behind cameras, and even coming to understand the controversial Logan Paul! (I certainly didn't think that Logan would be one to want to be a great engineer.) This was an amazing video/podcast (hell, an amazing form of media), I don't care what the comments say. • @alexman378
    @alexman378 4 роки тому +1

Didn’t expect this, to be honest. I never “hated” the guy, I had no reason to, but I was mostly indifferent. I was glad to hear this, and honestly, he seems like he really wants to work on himself and be better. The way he describes his journey is like driving a car really fast. Sometimes, you are bound to hit something. He’s achieved a lot for being so young, and he’s slammed his head on certain parts of his journey.
I feel a little more motivated. I pride myself on always working on my future, being the best at what I do and making more moves than anyone around me, but he’s my age, and he’s achieved so much already. It doesn’t matter if you like what he’s done or not, again, I’m indifferent to his more mainstream content that I’ve seen, but he has done it, and nobody can take it away. Made me feel like I’m not trying enough when I should be doing more, and I should probably get on with the show. Thanks Logan. I hope one day the public perception is unanimously what you seem to think of yourself as. I for one, came out better from this interview, whether that was the intention or not. There’s something I never expected to say...

So I'll just add my thoughts on this:
I really enjoyed seing something about this talk: When the talk started Logang was his full blown persona. I'll be honest, I hate that. I'm not his target audience I guess and it shows. During the talk he really opened up though and I felt like there was genuine conversation to be had. That part was great. It also fits into what he said regarding making friends: He's careful about opening up, which I understand regarding his unique situation within the youtube ecosystem.
I also really get some narcissism vibes from him, but I'm not sure how much of that is persona and how much is the Logan under all of this, because that feeling wore off over the length of the talk.
Since you said you'd be interested in hearing about the topics discussed: I really liked both the part about the importance of family, something which Logang seems to have come around to realizing (as a sibling I really identified with the sentiment of knowing that your siblings are the one true constant you can rely on. They won't give up on you even if everyone else does). Also I love the question of "how do you keep your passion from becoming work". It has appeared before and maybe (I hope not) it's because some of you are struggling at times with that. I think that's just a question that everyone is asking themselves so it's great to get different views on it. To pitch another viewpoint regarding the topic: Many people don't work in what their passion is. That's the reality of life. I do however feel like more people should try to make their job their passion opposed to making your passion your job. It can't always be done, but it's worth thinking about.
I'm not always interested in the corridor crew vids, especially when they get really memey, but in contrast I always seem to enjoy this podcast. It's a great addition to the regular content and replaces some of the more tecnical outlooks we used to have in the Sam and Niko channel (befor the rebranding). I'm not trying to appear too negative here, I overall still enjoy most of the content and I hope things will stay that way. In the meantime I'm happy we all have something as interesting as this podcast to watch.

Just want to say that was incredible, I never even liked hearing that guy name but after listening to this I may not like his demeanour but I've a new found respect for the guy. Just goes to show how narrow minded I can be and probably quite a few others.

20 minutes after the upload and people are already whining... I don't like a lot of what this man has done, I don't like his attitude (from what I have seen) but dropping negative comments for nothing, without listening to this conversation... that's just low guys.
Let's just listen to this, make up our own minds and move on. This is what the parties involved in this Podcast do aswell

I have been keeping up with you guys for years now. I have attach a list below which you may find interesting for guest for coming shows (no particular order):
    - Freddie Wong
    - Seananners
    - Hutch
    - I'd like to hear more from previous interns as well i.e. the selection process, their first initial days and thoughts and maybe prior experience could be an interesting space. Maybe even speak about some of their favourite youtubers and what they have been working on.
    - Any old school youtubers, especially in the gaming space from machinima days
    - D from node
You guys have been in this space for a long time your reach of types of guest you can have is vast.

Very nice that people are thankful for this podcast. It is good that you realise that the general internet opinion is not the same that YOU would necesarrily have after seing him in person

The way he's talking and his expressions make me feel like he is either really nervous or is lying/making stuff up.
Considering he's normally quite the... outgoing type... he's probably not nervous

That Man Melvin this is what you have to do when media is crawling around and waiting for you to make a mistake that they can take out of context and make big. Looks like he’s just watching his worlds carefully

I wouldn’t say he’s a liar. He’s changing the way he speaks to adapt to the situation. From Vlogs for kids to this is a massive difference.
