@@branchofthevine779 Your language, i.e. "divider of the brethren," is telling of your perspective. All of us are saved by what Jesus has done for us, not our own merits. Faith in grace or faith in Jesus may be taken as profession alone. If one has faith, our actions show it. Mt 7.15-23.

There is media hype, especially criticism from TLM people, on remarks made by Pope Francis when speaking of interreligious cooperation in his recent trip to Indonesia. I have viewed the media clip. I have sincere doubts Pope Francis meant to be speaking out of the context of Nostra Aetate: "The Catholic Church rejects nothing that is true and holy in these religions. She regards with sincere reverence those ways of conduct and of life, those precepts and teachings which, though differing in many aspects from the ones she holds and sets forth, nonetheless often reflect a ray of that Truth which enlightens all men. Indeed, she proclaims, and ever must proclaim Christ "the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6), in whom men may find the fullness of religious life, in whom God has reconciled all things to Himself." 🤔
@@royquick-s5n Couple of problems here: you referred to the Catholic Church as a _she._ I get the expression, but that sort of lends itself to this worldly mindset where we exchange pronouns to create a false sense of gender neutrality. Secondly, Christ does not share His Glory with pagan religions. God doesn't tolerate this as expressed in the First Commandment. It isn't a debate.
I realize Catholics are pretty laxed on pagan practices and openly defy scriptures with idolatry and trying to communicate with the dead (keep praying to Mary and Saints), but this doesn't mean the Pope didn't mean wasn't preaching another heresy. There is a long history of Popes violating scripture for some worldly purpose.
It is 2024 and the Scriptures are available to everyone. There's no reason for you or anyone else to be a Catholic. Don't make excuses for bad behavior.
@@ColonelHoganStalag13 Correction. I did not refer the Church as she. Nostra Aetate is the product of 2nd Vatican Council and promulgation of Pope Paul VI. Trying to undercut its message by criticism of the messenger does not change the veracity of the message. Obviously you disagree.
And Putin controls the Russian Orthodox Church which accounts for 40% of all EOs and their leader declared a holy war against Orthodox Ukraine.
There is no 'Anglican Church' - There is an Anglican Communion and the CofE is just of one of 40 odd independent churches the AoC is no longer recognised as the primes inter pares by 85% of the Communion.
If the Pope said that he's making heretical statements against the teachings of the Catholic church. This is not the first time in history a Pope has gone astray.
The Anglican church was never legitimate in the first place. It even has the audacity to list as saints, men it had a role in murdering for not abandoning Catholicism.

This is a great interview. Great to see another Aussie running the race to the end. But seriously, seeing so many churches are bending the knee to the new incarnation of the false gods and practising apostasy is so sad and maddening. The wolves in sheeps clothing are so deeply imbedded now, that it will take divine intervention to overturn this torrent of sin. God bless both men.

The Anglican Church of North America parish in Grand Rapids is Christ Church Anglican, if that tells you something. There is a small denomination in the U.S. called the Anglican Catholic Church. Some call it a "continuing church." It would be hoped that Calvin would serve under the auspices of the Anglican Church of North America or the Anglican Network in Europe in the future and get away from the splinter, sectarian, groups. We need more unified support, not sectarianism.🤔

Old woman and old-school. Was brought up in a C of E school. Most times were enjoyable, especially hymns. I left C of E when they brought in (as my mother-in-law calls them) women priestesses in. No WAY ever going back now - it's even worse
I loved church and chapel as a child at school and in the army. I have tried taking my children to church a few times and it's just awful. I can enjoy a carol service and a funeral but that's about it now.
Find an Anglican Network of Europe related parish or make connection with the Network.🤔

As an American, I'd like to say that we are honored to have Calvin here. I just wish it weren't under these circumstances. He can feel free to stay as long as he likes, this is his country now. I'm angry at Britain that he feels he has to be here, though.

Agnostic here. I welcome you, your ministry, and your brilliant interviews to our country. In spite of my agnosticism, I prefer my country follow the Judeo-Christian principals of its' past.
Why if you are agnostic?
Because this Marxist inspired nihilism, that seems to be the basis of modern western culture is horribly corrosive. Being agnostic doesn't mean that I am blind to what has worked in the past. Say what you will about religious faith... you'll typically find a better understanding of human nature through it.

To those who despair about Calvin's lack of physical presence in Britain, remember that 99.9 percent of us interact with the Father over social media and on screens anyhow, so why does it matter where he broadcasts from? Especially if his message or he himself could be stopped if he stayed in the UK? This isn't a defeat. As the French say, Reculer pour mieu saute.
He's a priest and will go where God leads him. Those who complain about this are simply assuming he is making the decision based on what he wants. He made the decision to follow God and be where God wants him to be.

Orthodox here - the CofE seems to reject the Gospel, the pope has just said (in the far east) that all religions lead to God, which means we don't need the Lord Jesus Christ.

How delightful to see both of you on one screen. And how unfortunate it is, Fr Brett, that one must do such deep due dilegence about what seem to be legitimate Christian jurisdictions. I was ordained in a part of the Old Catholic movement, related to Fr Calvin's bishops, I think, and most of the folks have become full bozo zonkers in about the same time as has the C of E. Fortunately, however, they have not punished me for being Christian rather than liberal.

GAFCON, the Anglican Network in Europe? I know that is awfully easy for me to say, but it would seem unity rather than division, resort to sectarianism, is the answer. I know, one has to earn a living and may have a family for which to profide.🤔

The sad fact is that most denominations within the universal church- Catholic, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Baptist, Methodist, etc. are facing challenges of heresy and apostacy. Not just Anglicans.
Agree 💯 I'm ex-pressie, my family church for generations. We were kicked out for not taking the back scene, I'll never go back. Church life is now in the past. Not much to choose from here.

As for me, IF God gives me providence to move up North (as there are No Biblical Churches at all near me :( ) , my Church home will most likely be St Paul's ECFCE in Fleetwood as Fleetwood is a lot more Affordable than Morecambe! but, if I get chance, I may still pop in to Emmanuel from time to time If I can get up to Morecambe for a day or so!

I agree with that. But I am from the US so my opinion has no weight. But if you know the ship is sinking, why not leave it? I fear the UK cannot be recovered without a severe cultural revolution. Which makes me sad. The UK is a historically rich and wonderful society that is intentionally being demolished.

God has a way of guiding our feet and our hearts beyond what would appear ‘logical’. Trust and faith in God goes above our human logic. God bless you.
