Do you want to see another dev board expansion card? Let me know! I'm happy to hear your ideas and suggestions😊
Hallo spacehuhn! It would be great if you would make an update on the oled deauther. I would love to see an function where u could solder an ir led to the board and use it like a tv b gone so it shuts down any tv off! Ps: love your vids
Yes, please 🐔🐔🐔
Yes yes and more yes
We definitely need one with esp32 and Lora. Esp32 and sx1262? What do you think? Lora is one of the best iot technologies that travels really far for a small amount of energy.
Can you create a 4G LTE router board expansion card (with an ESP32SIM) for having internet when you're not at home. :D
Sorry for my english, i'm french 🙃
This is pretty cool - I'd love to see this with the ESP32-H2 or C6, for 802.15.4 connectivity.
I also don't have a Framework laptop. But I dig the concept!
That's what I was thinking, it would be a killer tool for Thread/Zigbee etc. development.
thanks for captions! really helps and makes me want to watch more of your videos
This is so cool, would love to see more videos like this for other similar devices!
This is really awesome. Clean work.
Very nice job, I'm honored to have made a small cameo at 0:55
Genius, Mr. Huhn 🐔
Really cool project, thanks for sharing.
Very cool! Well done!
This is dope, thanks. Subbed!
Keep on keeping on my dude
Such a cool idea!
Some company should now build a laptop-extension to our ESP board module slot 🤭🤭🤭
A bunch of really smart people, called framework, have done this!!
sick project!
This is awesome!
I always love your content and all your cool tech products Spacehun, keep up the awesome work!
Brilliant !!
Whoa that’s pretty cool honestly framework laptops are great hope they become widely adopted while they do have their problems they are still great.
Also man hope your living the best of your life because you helped me live the best of mine with the esp 8266 mod it made my day back when i was kid it kinda got me started in my interest in technology and electronics while am no way close to your level i hope i get there one day and i owe that to you
So thank you so much
It would be interesting to see one which essentially provides GPIO and ADCs to the laptop.
Another idea would be one that functions as a logic analyser or oscilloscope. I think the logic analyser wouldn’t be that difficult to implement and could be very useful.
A much more complicated idea would be to make a form of FPGA accelerator or just have an FPGA with GPIO.
incroyable bravo !
Liked that, I hope someone makes a fpga or arm board for the upcoming framework 16
Wow, like having a little flipper zero in your framework!
This suddenly made me think of a video Phil's Lab did where he did a complete tour of his KiCad PCB design for a nRF-24 usb dongle using an stm32 microcontroller as a gateway between the radio transceiver and usb technically.
I assume this is something some people have thought for framework laptops
Amazing
Hah, didn't know you have a Framework as well. Awesome job on that module! 😊
Yes! Thank you!
Instead of PCB under the antenna u can make a cutout with 2 mml on each side and have copper on the board there. If you look at the ESP antenna guide the PCB with cutout performed the best in terms of signal strength and integrity . So to the left and right of the ESP module you can have copper PCB with the buttons on it.
Awesome project! Thanks for sharing this video. I'm still figuring out which Framework to buy into right now. Maybe some of you guys have some thoughts? My current config that is placed in the basket is the 13 with the Intel Ultra 7 165H. It's a bit pricy, I know (in Germany that is €2,327). Use case for me would be, CAD/ECAD SW, raw image editing tools and hopefully some 4K video editing, nothing crazy. For that the 16 would be more suitable but at the current price point with the Graphics Module expansion bay and considering the quality issues a lot of users reported, I will let that one out for now. I need to buy a new laptop asap as my old HP got stolen. My iPad is keeping up for the photo editing part but for anything serious as an electrical engineer, the Framework could be just what I am looking for.
you could have a 90 degree qwik connector out the side so you can have the module plugged in and still plug in devices/access stuff
Good bro. Love from India ❤. I have made ur hackheld vega but I made it from normal pcb and solder it myself that cost me 10$😊
I really wish the expansion was wide enough for two usb ports on a single card... or a lot smaller so you'd have more than 4. Nice to know that someone made a full-sized SD card reader tho.
A custom Framework 16 expansion bay module would be really super cool.
Thanks! I was wondering if it's possible to make the Expansion Card with type c edge launch smt ?
Just wanted to say that i really enjoyed the video and even the sponsored part. It wasn't too long, was pertinent to/integrated with the content, and made me feel like it might be time to gove ir a shot.
Have you thought of doing any Flipper Zero boards?
I kinda want to see more microcontrollers now, something like the RP2040 or that one people use for tiny Arduino projects (I can't remember the name of it). I've yet to try PCB design but I might look into seeing if I can make my own to learn.
Genius.
When FW16 launches, I might use this project to make a small side indicator of some sort for kicks of it. :P
cool stuff mate. my dstike hack held just turned up. loveing it.
So cool. Great work! For button access you could try a mechanical solution where pushing a button from the outside makes a long physical arm on the inside press down on the button using a fulcrum point to direct the motion down on the button. Hope that makes sense.
Whete did you buy that square ESP 32 board from?
is there any way to update the deauther watch 1VF dstike to 2.6.0 because its 2.5.0 and I want to update it idk if you can I was just asking how cause I need the clock thing
Can you make a board with buttons and connectors on the bottom? This way you technically don't have to slide it out everytime
Are there panel mounted connectors or buttons small enough to mount to the case itself? If so I think you can save a lot of room on the PCB and access the buttons and connectors externally.
I don't think that the modual has to be flush with the side of the computer... That is to say I think you have infinite space in the direction perpendicular to the side of the computer, so what you could've done is make a place for the reset button that sticks out from the front/back as it faces you.
if only framework laptops were available in India
So need this laptop....
Hello sir can u help me how to anti jammer bcauz my neighbor is use it that y all my device with 2.4ghz i cant connect
Tri to make an a micro SD for one or 4 SD cards for expend memory, like old duble hd for cat laptop adapter.
Why not utilize the slots as just an anchoring point/ connector- then expand out the legth of the laptop to make it look clean and out how ever more you require(think: when laptop is open the area to the side of the keyboard is widened). Utilize the 2 slots to have a more sturdy/ secure attachment. Heck, with that length you can even tuck in a decent antena. Best way I can think to compare my ide to would be something like a docking station, but on the side, and with micro processor instead of power and connections..
Still buyable on your shop?
I couldn’t wait for you to upload
Have you considered mounting buttons on the outside edge and simply using wires to connect them to the other edge of the PCB? It looks like you could bodge that with the existing design.
And maybe shorten the plastic casing for the connector with sandpaper.
I really think it would be awesome if the steam deck would have the same module support as the framework laptop.
Cool expansion card! How did you do the panelization?
I used Kikit
Sehr sehr cooles Projekt! Wie alt bist du eigentlich?
Anyone else have the Dstike OLED MINI V2 and then after HIS SO CALLED "UPDATE" can NO LONGER use the WEB INTERFACE? WTH, . IDK I thought an UPDATE was an UPGRADE but Now my device is trash! Thanks. Unless there is a way to FLASH the old version. I keep getting this in the Arduino Terminal:
ERROR: saving /settings.json
ERROR couldn't open /names.json
Device names loaded from /names.json
ERROR couldn't open /ssids.json
I've tried the Web port flash tool and it doesn't work either. What gives? What version do I need to get back to ORIGINAL with my DeAuther Oled MINI V2?
The Web page interface > SETTINGS page is EMPTY now. Sorry to sound mad but WHY was it taken out of the updated code?
Looks like the Json file linked isn't the SAME as before the update. Anyone know the fix because. I've seen this ISSUE raised on Github but it was labeled "STALE" why?
Where are you?
why do You need those screws? i wuld consider latch from outside side and screw on usb side (like m2 ssd)
If you made a revision then soldering wires could be a fix for the button placement. I know it's not ideal but it's a way to make them accessible without removing the board.
The same could be used for the connector as well.
i wish the frameworks had better battery life so i could have gotten one
Now someone with great layout skills should do a multi-devboard. ESP32, STM32F103, Atmega328P, Rpi Pico all on one board. Might be possible (if you don't use the module and sacrifice antenna clearance).
Of course this needs something crazy like a 6-layer board or even 12 layer.
Loose chips like esp32s (no module) atmega 328 (maybe the tinier version of it) and rp2040 would fit just need the memory chips for the rp2040 to fit and power for the different chips
We can add a esp 32 based io for testing out sensors we can directly connect sensors to it
why not add 3D vertical stand to house both your expansion port, the esp32 and maybe an option for something 3rd useful thing to add? Kinky idea tho
You can mount boot and reset button vertically and insert sim ejector tool to press
This is great from them. Framework should make this an open source so third party addons can be included. For so many strange stuff we use in everyday life.
It is already!
If you're after an even smaller module lillygo make a couple of esp32 modules called the t-micro that are about half the size.
May i ask how much you payed for 1 pcb
There should be space for about 10 pins on the side of the module. That would make it an awesome little device!...
For what exactly this device i don't know:(
Hello Spacehuhn! I just want to ask if there's a project for "5G WIFI DEAUTHER" using the BW16 RTL8720DN, the same as the ESP 8266 Node MCU. I saw a video on UA-cam of the BW16 RTL 8720DN equipped with 2.4 + 5G dual band WiFi. Same size of the ESP 8266 Node MCU. I think you can make a 5G WiFi Deauther on it. I hope you will review that chip. I can't attach the pictures and PDF regarding that chip to your contact support page. Thanks. I think it is POSSIBLE!
Here's the UA-cam link for BW16 RTL8720DN 5G Chip: ua-cam.com/video/T10xCiM_4cw/v-deo.htmlsi=1tWRQJYThDvyTcmj
Transferring files via ftp server is a faster solution even if the usb port was working. But that being said. Even if you could root it, no usb means no usb adb connectivity
du Gockel
I don't understand how people get so hyped about recessed USB-C ports that require proprietary dongles masquerading as expansion cards.
Why not just have Thunderbolt ports and call it a day? Better yet, match the spacing of Macbook ports, so your users have access to 3rd party accessories designed for Macbooks. You get either more internal space or a thinner profile, at the cost of not being able to play Lego with your laptop. It seems like a good trade to me.
You literally have 4 Thunderbolt 4 ports that you can even access without expansion cards.
Also those expansioncards are for DIY your config and easy replacement (as the whole laptop inside).
Want to have 2.5Gbit Ethernet, HDMI, DP, USB-A? Use Expansion cards.
Want to have 4 Displayport? Use Expasion cards.
Plain 4 USB-C Ports? Use these.
Want to have easy access to 3rd party macbook accessorie (which by itself is proprietary)? Make your own Expansion Cards that fit the spacing of the macbook ports.
I don't understand where the problem is.
@@GreenCinco12Official Therein lies the problem. Those ports are really hard to access without expansion cards. There isn't enough clearance between the laptop body and the ports. If the boot on your cable is too thick, or doesn't extend far enough out past the edge of the laptop, you're screwed without a stupid expansion card.
Literally nothing you listed can't be achieved without an ordinary dongle. There is literally no reason to make any of that into an expansion card. And it'd be more material-efficient if you didn't.
It's a meaningless gimmick that just makes the product worse. I just want to plug shit in. I don't want to play with expansion cards.

Incredible!
