Damn dude, you're on fire lately! Great stuff.
Wow! I really liked this explanation. I find it really helpful when you explain Buddhist concepts from a zen perspective based on Dogen quotes. I have friends who practice different forms of Buddhism, and they often come to me with questions like: „In our sangha, they‘re making a real fuss about enlightenment, or rebirth, or „being the universe“, etc. What’s the zen take on this?“ And based on your books and videos, I often find myself in a position, where I just say: „Yeah, ... I guess in zen ... it‘s just not that important.“ This answer drives my friends nuts by the way 😀 But it seems to me that really, in the end zen is about the ordinary experience. And whenever I find myself becoming too „fancy“ about something, I can be sure that I‘m on the wrong track. Because „the fancy“ always makes the ego secretly go weight lifting 🏋️♀️ and that‘s not where we want to go 🙃 So, thanks for that! BTW: What about the theme songs? We sent you a song, and we‘re so much looking forward to hear what others came up with... Are you planning on featuring any of this in the future? 🎸
Thanks! I am putting together the podcasts now (well, not NOW because now I'm typing this, but currently). I have received 3 or 4 versions of the theme song so far and I'll be using all of them in different episodes.
Oh, wow! That‘s cool! Excited to hear the results! 🎧
"Realizing great realization by bringing forth the hundreds of weeds." Lol.
Thank you Brad🙏
You're welcome.
I love Marmite too. I knew you were my kind of guy! Looking forward to reading your new book. Huge love from the UK! :D
Cool T-shirt!!!
This is timely as I just got to the part of Don't Be a Jerk about the eternal mirrors and stuff
Remember many dinosaurs are now in bird form!
put a hen next to a T-Rex and you will realize they have the exact same build and skeletal structure

Or in somebody's gas tank.
Brad, seriously. We need a studio version of 'Buddha Was a Good Ol' Boy' a.s.a.p.
I did record a studio version. It's on Spotify if you have Spotify. It was first included as a bonus track on the CD version of the Dimentia 13 album Flat Earth Society in 1990.
Ah, that's awesome! Thanks for the info, I'll make sure to look it up!
I think its interesting that our mind is like the universe because it is ever expanding.. what we are capable of knowing and sensation are limitless, galaxies upon galaxies of experiences, yet we usually take this for granted and are held down by stagnation and get stuck into only a few aspects..
Hope to see you at Gillies!
Thanks!
👍
We contain multitudes
I really shouldn't watch these videos just before going to bed. My mind is a hot mess of cosmic thoughts and Marmite cravings :/

:) :) :) :) :)
Of course you're the universe! What else can you be?
John Cafiero
Uh... just you?
@@edgepixel8467 Right, but how could "you" be something different from the universe?
@@goodnlousy There's a big difference between the theory and the personal perspective; I simply don't "feel" I am the universe, no matter how much thought I put into it. It doesn't "click". It's why it takes decades of meditation practice for the personal perspective to fade. So, for now, I am still just "me".
@@edgepixel8467 No, I hear you. I guess I just like the common sense aspect of it. Good luck, Ed.
@@goodnlousy I knew you get me; I was just having a talk.
There are moments when something triggers a "beyond" the ego experience. This video's Jupiter segment, dharma talks about ego, or just resting on the couch after zazen sometimes. One time it was listening to a youtube video about Dune; the part where Alia's psyche is taken over by her Harkonnen grandfather's ancestral personality.
All these can trigger either a feeling of the ego's insubstantiality, or downright ego absence. They don't last long. Most times, I'm simply "me". I never felt I was the universe though :)
And Chickens. Dinosaurs are still present as chickens.
Good stuff as usual - have you tried marmite peanut butter, Brad? Happy to send you some if not! Haha!
They make Marmite peanut butter? How is that even possible?
Kent Hovind. The ark park.
Please stop looking so baked
And please keep up that top content! :D
It's just how I look. Ever since high school, I get asked all the time, "Are you tired?" or "Are you high?" I think I just have that sort of a look.
Yo brad can you do a video on the topic of kundalini?
When I was a christian I was told I was possessed by a kundalini snake demon that had attached its self to my back and was coursing my back pain, because I had done yoga. I left after that.
@@juliebarks3195 lol good choice leaving that cult :) did you ever have the holy spirit experience? That's kundalini as well, which just goes to show how ignorant christianity is. Christ IS kundalini
@@Lbpbest1
No. But I did have a Spirit-filled pastor try and push me over when he tried to cast out the snake thing. I stood my ground and resisted the crap. Now I'm an agnostic. Some of the stuff I encountered in the Christian church was truly insane. In their crazy world, I'm now condemned to hell.
@@juliebarks3195 lmao, a similar thing happened to me. I didnt have the "snake energy" but i did listen to heavy metal and meditate which was apparently satanic and so the guy prayed for me and kept telling me that "I knew deep down in my heart Jesus is real but that I kept rejecting Him"
@@Lbpbest1
What are you now.?
Akronnnnn. The home of Lebron James. Brad are you a Lebron/Cavaliers fan?
I don't follow basketball at all. Lebron is an interesting person, I think. I'm glad he's so successful. He really seems committed to giving back to the city of Akron and that's great. Akron has had a rough time for the past 40 or so years.
Fun fact: if you like Marmite you're a fooking psychopath
Is that true??? What about Vegemite? I've never tried it, but I have heard they're similar.
No shoutout for showing you the T-shirt?! #sadface
I'm sorry! I'm forgetful about where I see these things. THANK YOU for showing this shirt to me.
Wrong way around, its the universe is you.
"ten foot . . . . one foot wide"
you are more vast than the universe, 10 ft equals one foot equals the width of the brane universes
none of the above is true
there is no "eternal mirror" , branes or even you
